Jessica is NOT daisy duke material. She's too freaking ignorant of everyday life to have even the slightest clue to be able to do what Daisy did on the series.

I loved the show - but they [freak]ED UP letting the movie cast that ditz in that role...and the guys aren't honestly that much better.

I should also add - the only "pop princess" that had been mentioned for the role that I think would have done half-way decent was Mandy Moore - but even her I wouldn't have truly been able to see in the role.

Jessica Simpson is not ignorant ... do you say this because of the tuna escapade on Newlyweds? we all have our blonde moments, it just so happens that her's get got on tape... and if you really believe that half of the Newlyweds isn't acting, well...

you don't really know her so you really have no right to say that. Jessica is such a beautiful person, and funny and very sweet, and she is a smart buisness person. She knows what she's doing with the help of her father... but she wouldn't be were she is today if she was ignorant... and she would be an excellent candidate for Daisy Dukes... She has the right spunk and when I went to her reality tour this summer she was such an awesome person. I personally can't wait till the movies comes out, I haven't seen the older Dukes shows but my uncle talks about it all the time, and I asked about his thoughts on the matter of Jessica and he said that she has what it takes.

Sorry, but I think that some people who remember the show Dukes of Hazzard don't feel that she is right for the part and yes, alot of that could be based on her ditziness, plus she doesn't look the part. Hey, if she can pull it off, more power to her.

As Jenn put it - the lives of 98 Degrees (well Jeff & Justin - and for the most part Drew) and my life - aren't put on display for people to see "how they or I live" as Jess & Nick did with Newlyweds - so you'd have no basis for talking smack about us - because you admitted you don't know us - and because we don't put our lives on display - you can't even know part of us. You have your opinion about Newlyweds, you don't like it its ok for me i respect your opinion but nobody is gonna change mine, i love them i love what they did doing newlyweds, becouse for me they were just leting their fans know them better,they wanted to share their happiness with everyone, if that is bad for you its ok but for me its sweet and good becouse i got to know them through newlyweds and they are my favorite singers. :D

yeah, he looks nothing like the original boss. come to think of it none of them look like the original cast. and i agree, jess is over-doing the southern accent. i've never heard anyone talk like that...LOL

I seen an episode of it (Daisy Duke) on some old TV station. This is what I have to say on the matter:

First off, Jessica Primspon is stupid to take on a roll and not being able to connect with her character. Like someone said earlier, why isn't she dying her hair brown? That's really dumb on her move, you can't pretend to be somebody personality wise. You have to at least embark them physically as well. I also think, as Rae, there cast isn't like "the best". Its not really an all star cast and though there are some familiar faces, Sean William Scott is the only one who I think has funny acting talent.

I want the movie to personally flop but when you wish bad onto people good comes out of it so I'm sure the stupid critics out there will probably say its all right. And even if it does do well, its probably the pathetic boys paying money to see Jessica wear a swimsuit. But I just won't say anything about that.......

This may come off hateful, but I just don't like the girl (Jessica). And I know, if you don't like her why talk about her but I'm trying to prove a point so yeah. Ever since she came out with Newlyweds she's seemed "phony" while trying to cast off that she is really down to earth. It must be nice to be able to do the stuff she does, because most of us know how it is to actually "live" in the real world. To tell you the truth, I liked her best when she was 3rd rate pop star, at least I didn't have a bad generalization about her.

And a last thing, the whole "She's a good buisness woman bit" is her father pushing off his daughters to get money, maybe a little opinion on her side but more of her fathers. If it wasn't for him there wouldn't even be a Newlyweds, or Jessica being in every damn magazine I get. So I think her "Father" makes very good decesions. However its sort of upsetting how her father is a preacher and he sort of seems like he's falling for one of the seven sins (greed).

So I'm done. All those who contradict me, go on ahead, I stated what I think. :P

I agree with you, Britt I liked her better in her earlier days. I still like her now, but she seems a little too packaged and over the top.
