View Full Version : Vanessa Minnillo is ready to be a blushing bride
Vanessa Minnillo is going to star in her first movie called Redefining Love. “This is going to be a good one to get my feet wet with,” Vanessa tells In Touch. “I give the producers and writers credit for writing such a beautiful script and I hope I convey on film what they want — but I’m nervous!”
As for her personal life, Vanessa Minnillo (http://icydk.com/category/vanessa-minnillo/) is ready to be a blushing bride, but she’ll never pop the question to Nick Lachey (http://icydk.com/category/nick-lachey/). “I know that a lot of girls nowadays are proposing to guys, but I think I’ll be old-fashioned,” Vanessa, 27, told In Touch at the Reebok Freestyle World Tour event in New York on February 21. “I’ll wait until I have gray hair before I propose!” Despite her flippant remark, a friend of Vanessa’s says that she’s privately disappointed that Nick, 34, has not gotten down on bended knee yet. “She was really upset when she didn’t get a ring on Valentine’s Day,” her friend reveals to In Touch.
She's not the only one.

Good for Vanessa. I would NEVER propose to a guy. I don't think there is anything wrong with doing that but I am old fashioned that way too. I would also not stick around forever with a guy who was stalling, If that's in fact what Nick is doing..who knows!

They have a lot going on career wise, maybe he feels it's not a good time to get married. She's trying to start her film career, which takes a lot...concentrate on that OR maybe he doesn't want to get married right now....anyone ever thought of that.
He's said numerous times he's happy where they are now, and the saying is " if it's not broken don't fix it'.

I don't think he wants to get married now..that's whay he hasn't proposed. I htink we've all thought of that!! lol. What I have always thought and still believe today is that they have careers that will still be there when they are married. To say, we're going to wait until this album or movie is done or until we've accomplished this career goal etc. is a bit ridiculous. There will always be a next album ( we hope) and a next movie, etc. You can be married and still achieve your goals. I think their choice in not marrying right now is strictly a choice made based on themselves and themselves only. Not their careers. I don't see Nick ever making a personal decision of any kind based on his career and the impact it will have on his career.

i agree with you, its barely two years to have proposed already. I usually believe dating/courting for 2+ years is enough time to Know each better

Not wise on Vanessa's part to be expressing her desire to get engaged. Especially if they don't make it that far. Does she not remember the humiliation Nick already went through with his marriage and divorce????????

remember "friends" expressed it who knows if its true
I don't usually take the bite when magazines say "a friend" said so and so. It's a ploy to sell magazines or make a story more interesting.

That is true, but she's stated in numerous interviews that she wants to get married and have kids.
Luv, it may sound ridiculous to you to put marriage on the backburner for your career, but people do it every single day....it's not uncommon...especially in today's world where women are so career driven. I meet a lot of women where career is first.....marriage and kids are always far on the list.....if they're on the list at all.
Plus, Nick doesn't seem like the type to rush anything.....so why would this situation be any different. The same rumors every single week are starting to get on my nerves.

You just reiterated my point. I was saying that although, that is what people do, it's not necessary. You CAN have both. It's not impossible. It's sad actually that people choose one or ove the other. If marriage is THAT much work for you to not be able to manage it plus a career, make a choice and move on.
I must say that I concur with LuvLachey. ;)
