I know we have a few racing fans on here - just wanted to let you know - if you are interested - I created a buddy league on Nascar.com for their Streak to the Finish fantasy game for any fellow nickfanatics interested in doing it.
It's a free fantasy game there - you pick a driver you think will finish in the Top 10 in the next race - if you're right - you earn the points he earned for that race.
If interested the league name is NF Racing League - and it has a password of Nickfanatic. Feel free to join up if interested.
Also - would anyone else be interested in doing a fantasy game where you draft 6 drivers and compete with 7 other teams to see who can score the most points? I'll start a league in that game for us nickfanatics if we have enough interest in doing it.

Nascar starts Friday!!! I'm soooooooooo excited!
My 2008 race schedule:
If all goes well.
05/31 Dover 200 Dover (Bush)
06/01 Dover 400 Dover (Sprint)
Dover is a 5 hr. drive. Make it a weekend. Get the boys/girls together & rent a couple of Winnebago's.
06/08 Pocono 500 Pocono (Sprint)
08/03 Pennsy. 500 Pocono (Sprint)
Pocono is like 30 min. Drive

you're lucky - someday I'll make it to A race (think I'd prefer the Bristol or Martinsville Races) but I don't think it's gonna happen for a few years yet.

Last season I swore I'd never go to another race. After sitting in the bleachers at Pocono for 5 hr. in the on/off rain. The race finally started but it started to rain again only now the race was considered to be more than half way through so NASCAR called it a race. NASCAR knew that they would never get the race completed in time before the deluge started again & should have cancelled & reschedules. This was not the first time but for me it was the last time. I'd just sit in front of the tube and watch the race in comfort from now on. Obviously that was last season and I have changed my mind. Being at a race is so different than watching on TV. We'll see how it goes this season. You can bake in the sun or be chilled to the bone when it's race day live.
Be interesting to see how JR makes out with the Hendrick team with Jeff & Jimmy.

Going to a race gives you a totally different prospective on it. Seeing it on tv is nothing until you are there and the cars go by soooooooo FAST that you don't see them:D It's GREAT!

I'm excited to see what happens with that! I mean I don't think it could get much worse for Jr than the junk equipment he had from 2005-2007 when he was with DEI. It seemed that after May 2007 when he said he was leaving DEI to go to HMS, his motors were blowing EVERY week. I know the motors blow but every week? There was something funny going on there. Especially when Martin Truex was doing so well and stuff. I like Martin too.
I don't think he will need to worry about getting crappy equipment with HMS though:)
I have to keep reminding myself that it's no longer Nextel & Bush but
Sprint & Nationwide.
Have too make a sticky:
Sprint = Nextel
Nationwide = Bush

Sounds awesome.
Last year we could'nt decide whether to go to the June or September Dover race, We didnt want to wait until September but knew June would be hot. We ended up picking September and it worked out great. Our seats were awesome!!! Its up in the air on whether or not we are going back to Dover, we may go to Daytona (I have never been) I also heard the night races are really cool in VA??? Its a tough decision because Dover is so close and we know the set up pretty good.
My dad is a huge Nascar fan, he travels to alot of races. He got me into racing and its great because its the one thing we do together that we enjoy and we get to spend quality time together.

Daytona would be awsome. Night racing, from what I've seen on the tube only, has got too be really cool. Briliant color, fire & brimstone plus your not sitting in the blazing Sun. Then there's the added bonus that your beer stays colder longer. :p
This weekend I'm off to the Philly Auto show. The cars that interest me the most are the Vet, Mustang Cobra Gt. & the retro 2008 challenger. Then I'll slobber over the new Bad Boy "Ram Hemi".

What a race yesterday.
Jimmie Johnson was sooo close, unfortunatley his front end was all over the place and he just couldnt keep up with Edwards. Im not a fan of Carl Edwards but he definatley deserved to win.
Poor Jr.--ughhh-- maybe next time, at least he finished the race, gotta give him that!
