She thinks the show makes stars out of nobodies, taking credibility away from real musicians.
Chris Daughtry-he was a nobody, but now he's a Rock Star.
Carrie Underwood-she was a nobody, but now she's a Country Star..............
Jealousy maybe?:nuts:
Correct me if I am wrong. Isnt that what AI is? They make stars out of nobodies. They give people a chance to show their talent, if they have any. Who would be the stars if they werent from AI right now? Ashlee? I think not.:weird:

For the record Nick HATES AI too. I would imagine most of the established artists out there really don't like the show.

I really respect how Ashlee paid her dues, I mean she really had to dig deep to get exposure for her music career........:rolleyes:

I don't see what the big deal is, it's a show for people to showcase their talent, get recognition, and hopefully a record deal.
Just like the dancing shows, just like the new show they have out for bands.
Ashley got her chance because of her family connections, so I'm really not understanding.

That's a load of BS...Who was Ashlee before she moved to LA? A nobody!! AI has put out some of the best talented musicians there are out there. Chris Daughtry was born to do what he does and all AI did was speed it up for him. Carrie UNderwood-same thing, Kelly Clarkson ...same thing! These artists are just jealous because the AI winners are calling out all the non-talented people and just making them look worse! (Like Ashlee Simpsom IMO).

What does this have to do with Nick anyway?
Did he state that at some point in time? If so, where & when.
If it were Nick, then my comments would have been the same..............except I forgot to add Kelly Clarkson to the list.:embarrest:

^^ PLus, Nick didn't really have to struggle that hard to get a deal either. AI contestants may not have struggled to get a deal but look at Kelly now. Her CD didn't do well and her last one was a hit. She is what they would call a "career slump". She has to fight to get back up now. Just like Nick, going from 98 degrees selling 10 million albums ot going soulo and having your first album tank. I say if Nick has a problem with AI, he's jealous of their talent too!

I heard Nick say the only problem he has with AI is that he feels bad for some of the contestants for being judged so harshly. I don't think he has a problem with AI or the contestants, he just feels that Simon is too harsh with some of them. At one of his concerts I went to last spring, he had Bo Bice who was from AI open for him.

I dont recall where I heard Nick say it, but I have to agree that sounds familiar.

Well said Lorm!!!! I have never heard Nick say anything about AI, but I would believe you anytime! All I want to know is why was I not at that concert with you?????
I feel Ashlee is a great singer, and I didn't see the article....just stating my opinion. As for AI, I feel like it gives a lot of great singers a chance they wouldn't ordinarily have, to get their voice out there for us to enjoy. I applaud all the winners and runners up.
Carrie Underwood and Chris, and Blake were all favorites of mine. :)

When Nick first started with 98 degrees, they did have to struggle......very hard to get recognized. At that time, they were the only white r&b group(who eventually turned POP to get the recognition and numbers they were looking for), which made it harder for them.
I think that's the problem a lot of artists have with the contestants on AI(and I'm not saying Nick is one of them), the contestants on AI miss the "struggle" of making it in the business...some have been labeled overnight successes.
I love Kelly Clarkson.....I love her rock sound, I love her soulful sound. I love Fantasia.....I love Bo Bice. Carrie Underwood was never a favorite of mine, she has a very beautiful voice, but watching her perform is like watching paint dry.....but I believe she's been the most successful AI contestant there is thus far so congratulations to her.
There are numerous AI contestants that did not win, that are doing great things(Clay Aiken, Jennifer Hudson, Tamyra Gray, Chris Daughtry, and the list goes on). I may not agree with who wins most of the time, but for the reasons previously stated I applaud the show.
P.S. I'm waiting for Miss Melinda Doolittle to drop her album...she was my favorite last season.
