Four Georgia women have filed a federal lawsuit in Los Angeles, alleging that a viewer participation contest that takes place on NBC's Deal or No Deal constitutes illegal gambling. The plaintiffs cite a 99-cent "premium" text message fee charged to viewers who take part in the "Lucky Case Game" by via cell phone, and claim that the contest can be considered a lottery under California, New York and Massachusetts state law. (Though seeing as the women aren't actually from any of those states, it's unclear why they care enough to sue.)
