(April 25) -- Joe Simpson apparently isn't busy enough managing the careers of both of his pop-star daughters, Jessica and Ashlee. Now, word is he wants to take over Britney Spears (javascript:;) ' ailing career.
According to New York Daily News source (http://www.nydailynews.com/gossip/r_m/2007/04/25/2007-04-25_jessicas_dad_wants_to_add_pop_to_spears_.html), Simpson, a former minister, recently tried to set up a meeting with Spears to discuss her future. Spears' camp denies that claim.
Spears has been without management for a few weeks since she fired her long-time manager, Larry Rudolph. Spears was unhappy with her image under Rudolph recently, and blamed him for introducing her to Paris Hilton (javascript:;) .
The Daily News source says Jessica Simpson (javascript:;) wouldn't mind if her father were to manage Spears, and the former reality star even offered to give Britney a call since they're no longer teen-pop competitors.
Jessica Simpson (javascript:;) 's music career of late has been struggling compared to her past success, but under her father's direction, she has been able to branch out into movies and will even perform with the *****cat Dolls (javascript:;) . Sister Ashlee, who started her career in television, has had two chart-topping singles.
