There's nothing more infuriating than when a "star" is able to talk their way out of a speeding ticket, illegal U-turn or failure to yield, with a flashy smile and an autograph for the cop's "neice." But here in Babylon we see the opposite happen too, it's just not reported as much.
Case in point, Nick Lachey, 33, who was driving in the San Fernando Valley with his girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo, 26, following in her own car close behind on April 17. Maybe Lachey was trying to do some fancy moves to impress his sexy sidekick, but he instead managed to catch the attention of a not-so-amused Valley cop who pulled him over for the dark window tint on his car. Now, it's at this point celebrities are used to using the old, "Hey look at those photographers over there, they're the reason I was [fill in the blank here]!" Nick is no different, because he at first didn't know why he was being pulled over, so he pointed to our Celebrity Babylon snapper getting the EXCLUSIVE photos and right away tried to shift the blame.
"Hey, settle down guy," said the stone-faced cop, "this isn't for speeding, it's for your [dark] window tint." With the wind taken out of his sails, and Minnillo looking on from her car behind, Lachey acknowleged that his tint was "limo," but that he needed it because of his "celebrity" status. Again, the cop wasn't buying what Nick was schlepping, and must not have needed a signed Nick Lachey CD or Newlyweds DVD, and issued him a "fix it" ticket on the spot.
