Candy Spelling and her estranged daughter, Tori, have made no secret that they're trying to reconcile. Just days before Tori gave birth to her and hubby Dean McDermott's first baby, she and Candy publicly revealed they had been in communication.

So, who initiated the reunion? A source close to the Spellings tells me it was Candy:

"She sent Tori an email about three or four weeks ago."

But it's not like the Spelling feud—things reportedly soured after Tori not so nicely lampooned her mother in her pseudo-reality TV show, So NoTORIous—is quick to be forgotten.

I am told that Tori and Candy have only communicated via two email exchanges. "They didn't talk in person or even on the phone," the source says. "It was just those emails."

Then Tori had her baby. "They didn't come face-to-face until Candy went to the hospital when Tori was in labor," the source adds.

Hopefully, baby Liam Aaron's arrival will help heal the feuding mother and daughter sooner rather than later. "Candy has been back to the hospital more than once," my source says.

But don't look for Tori and her new family to be moving back into Candy's gargantuan Holmby Hills estate. I'm told Tori and Dean are settling into their new L.A.-area condo quite nicely.

Hmmm, wonder if Candy will appear on Tori & Dean: Inn Love (http://www.eonline.com/gossip/planetgossip/blog/index.jsp?uuid=09605c32-07be-4e0e-b7d5-617c2b96e927), the new reality show on Oxygen that follows the couple using Tori's $800,000 inheritance from late dad Aaron to buy, renovate and then run a Southern California bed-and-breakfast.

Reps for Candy and Tori did not comment.

Now, I want to know what you think: Should Tori and Candy stop fighting? Shoot me an email at gossip@eonline.com (gossip@eonline.com).
