PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Pop singer Jessica Simpson canceled her Tuesday show at the Dunkin' Donuts Center because of a kidney infection, a spokeswoman at Columbia Records said.
Simpson, 23, was under a doctor's care and planned to resume her tour in New Hampshire on Wednesday, said Renee Pfefer.
Fans were advised to keep their Providence tickets, as organizers hoped to reschedule the performance as soon as possible.
Simpson, star of MTV's reality show "Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica," was scheduled to go on stage before a nearly sold-out audience at 7:30 p.m.
The appearance was part of Simpson's summer tour promoting her latest album, "In This Skin."
