George Clooney’s longest relationship to date ended on Friday when the 300-pound potbellied pig he’d had for 18 years -- died. The 45-year-old actor took a moment to speak to Us about the passing of “Max†at The Good German premiere.
Us: What are you going to miss most about Max?
Clooney: He was my alarm clock every morning. At 6:30 a.m., he woke me up. Tonight is the first night I’ll be home since he passed away so I’ll let you know how it goes.â€Â
Us: Are you going to get another pig?
Clooney: No other pig. He was the one.
Clooney won custody of the pig in his breakup from ex-girlfriend Kelly Preston, who later went on to marry John Travolta.
The actress reportedly had to improvise when it came to coping with the loss. Unable to see the beloved pet one last time, she had to settle for closing her eyes and stroking Travolta’s considerable, furry noggin’ while she said her final goodbyes. But it just wasn’t the same. Though her husband’s head be mighty, it probably weighs in at around a deuce-and-a-half, an inadequate stand-in for Max’s 300-pound frame.
