Finally, all the music journalists are beginning to tell the truth about a washed up Jessica. Pay close attention to the last paragraph. Nick should have been on the tour with her. OHhhhh, so true. Indeed. My husband just said "yes, people in the industry are no fools. Nick is a strong singer, and he should have been on the tour with her."

i don't think jess is washed up. a jess and nick tour would have been awesome, but everyone who has gone to the concert loved it. i don't know...i just don't pay much attention to reviewers. the reviewer of the rodeo (which i went to) praised kelly clarkson and put nick and jess down. all i have to say is kelly sounds better on tv, jess really impressed me, and nick was simply amazing.

Sorry, "Washed Up" was not the word I wanted to use. "I was reaching for "Sexed Up," girating hips and crotch grabbing. Definitely, "sexed up," altough Jessica says she is not selling "sex." More than one journalist saying the same thing can't be all wrong. There is some truth to some of it.

Copied from the West Palm Beach Newspaper Review, as reported by Deborah Wilker.
Later, there are endless, dull, between-song questions from the onstage fans, plugs for sister Ashlee's new album, clips from "Newlyweds" and the recent ABC variety special with Lachey -- all of it to pad out an evening for which there simply is not enough genuine material.
While Simpson might be just nutty enough to sustain the public's interest in a way that could indeed grant her a true career, she'll have to do more than bellow sound-alike midtempo pop songs and histrionic covers like "Take My Breath Away."
With service charges and parking bringing this ticket to $70-plus -- it's an overpriced evening. A better value would be a tour featuring Simpson and Lachey (also a strong singer) performing covers and originals together and apart -- with a dash of the shtick they've lifted from old variety shows. Considering the wide array of one-note pop stars seeking attention, an attractive young married couple singing and telling jokes would make for a novel evening.
Good job Deborah! I couldn't have said it any better myself.
Good Job Deborah
