OMG, I just got home and I couldn't wait to share with everyone! I flew in to Vegas yesterday around noon.
Highlights/Lowlights of the concert:
The concert was amazing, as we all know. No opening acts, all Nick. One of the first things he told the crowd was that it was his last show in Vegas and throughout the night they'd be taking shots. He and his band took the first shot, toasting each other. Midway through, some chick brings out another shot for him. He threw his cup in the crowd. Towards the end, one more shot for him, he wished he had shots for everyone.
Before he sings Fall In Love Again from SoulO, he's been telling the crowd, he promises he'll fall in love again. So this time he saids "And dammit Vegas, I have fallen in love again!" "and I got married this weekend!" and then starts laughing hysterically. I believe I got it all on video!!!!!
So before the show, I saw his bodyguard talking to this lady and her 3 girls were jumping up and down. I figured he'd asked them to go on stage. So when he gets ready to sing "Slave" he goes to that spot in the audience...the lady he sings to, Kelly, is the same girl he sang to in San Jose...coincidence or set up? But after he's done, she's gone. So I think he asked the lady if this person could sit there, and the girls also did get to go on stage with him when he sang "Ramblin' On". So that was...interesting.
The rest of the concert went pretty much the same as the others I've seen.
Now to the afterparty at Pure. My friend and I got in around 11. It was getting packed and we walked out sometime after midnight. We were going to wait to see Nick and saw where he'd be "walking" the red carpet. I was amazed. It's set up in front of the club, maybe 30 feet long. I imagined it's an exclusive area inside the club or something. Anyway, sometime after 12:30, he came in, walked right past where I was (I got a little bit of video), he posed for pics just a few minutes then walked in. At the end of the entrance, I saw he was signing something, so I was bummed I didn't think of that. So my friend and I decided to go back in, I just wanted one pic. It was so packed!!!!!. I could barely get through anyone. My friend actually went back out and waited outside of the club for me. I barely got any kind of view. He was next to the DJ booth which is about 5 feet or so up from the dance floor and there were several people in front of him, probably purposely blocking him. The DJ announced he was there and that is was his bday. Actually, when I got back in the club is when they were saying that, and I saw them rolling away a cake. I got a few bad views and then just left. I left before anyone else, like Vanessa, got there.
Also, an update for those who read my Bakersfield review. While we were waiting for Nick to show, I saw Derek. I said "Hey, did you give Nick the license plate?" and he said "No, not yet, but I will. You probably won't get it until the middle of January". I thought he was joking and I said "really, you promise? I don't want him to think I'm crazy, I just want to hang it on my wall" He said "No, I understand, I will give it to him, I promise." I said "I came down here from Northern Cali to see him for the last time" and he said "I know." Then I asked if I could take a pic and he said yes, and I said "You guys rocked, you did an awesome job on the tour" and he said "thanks" and that was it. He was very, very nice. So, there WAS just a coincidence with Nick's comment on the Vegas station about personalized plates. I'll continue to keep my fingers crossed.
SO, a little OT, my friend and I are waiting in a long line outside Caesar's for a cab. It's 1:15 to 1:30am. All of a sudden I look up and I recognize Riley Keough and Ryan Cabrera. I grabbed (I was shocked and grabbed gently) his arm and said "Hey!" He kinda looked, she looked and they kept walking. I told my friend I was going to get a pic. About 30 seconds later, I start running after them. At this point, my heels were off. So I catch up to them, and I said "Excuse me, I'm so sorry to bother you, but can I take a pic of you?" He stopped and I said "One of you two and then one of us three" At this point I thought I snapped a pic of them (looked later and found that I didn't) and then she said "do you want me to take a pic of you two?" and I said "yeah, sure". She was so cute and adorable, really, really nice. She took about 20 seconds or so, as if she was adjusting it or focusing or something. I even told her which button to push assuming she didn't know which one. So I thanked them and said "you guys have fun". There was no one else around, no one recognized them (he had a hat on, really low. They were just walking, minding there own business) So when I checked the camera, there were actually 2 pics of my and Ryan. So those are on my friends camera, because I used my battery and memory. I got lots of pics and video.
I've been to Vegas many times, and this time ranks in my top 3. Only because my first time was for my 21st bday and I actually won money and the other time, I went to a boxing match and actually got my fav athelete's autograph, Oscar de la Hoya!
Those are the highlights I can think of right now. Where is the best place to upload videos and pics? I used photobucket for pics, is that okay? I will do these tomorrow. I actually have homework due at 10 my time (It's 9) but I had to do this first!
