Career Differences Causing 'Newlywed' Tension?

They've been playful lovers on their MTV hit show, but as Jessica’s career skyrockets, insiders say Nick has become the man in her shadow.

Last week on "Newlyweds," Nick was miffed at Jessica’s bigger role on a VH-1 skit, and his role in their public service announcement all but disappeared.

In Us magazine's new cover story, Staff Editor B.J. Sigesmund says the "Newlyweds" are headed for choppy waters. When the couple arrived at the Golden Globes, photographers asked Nick to move aside so they could photograph Jessica. Also, at last week’s pre-Grammy bash, Jessica received all of the attention, the magazine reported.

One thing is for sure: Jessica's career is on a roll. Her new CD has outsold Nick's. After she landed her own sitcom deal, Nick got one too.

Now, with season two of "Newlyweds" wrapped up, the couple plans to share some private time on a Mexican getaway.

I feel bad for him since he worked his [arse] off trying to make a name for himself without the other three members of 98°. At the same time, I feel as if he should have had the common sense to realize that people would always refer to him as either Jessica Simpson's husband or the former member of 98°.

Also, he should have also realized that he wasn't going to go anywhere big. 98° has always been the third "boy-band" behind Nsync and BSB. Justin's solo success took off like Nsync did. Nick's followed the BSB career. He started big, similar to the group and faded away, similar to BSB. Nick, being third and last, started slow, like 98°. He then slowly gained momentum like the group and similar to the group he'll fade away whether we want him to or not.

Let's face it, he's Jessica Simpson's husband. It's the truth really and it sucks, even if I am a Jeff fan.

Even media hungry Nick deserves a break once in a while.

I guess with the semi-fame comes rumors and sadness. It was pretty obvious to anyone with common sense and/or a brain.
