View Full Version : Columbus OH CONCERT review!!

Hey guys! I'm JUST back from the Columbus concert! WOO HOO!! It was lots of fun!
First of all, I absolutely loved Dirtie Blonde! They were amazing! The lead singer has an incredible, incredible voice! I loved every minute of it! The crowd really got into them too!
I wasn't so thrilled w/Joanna. We made it through the first song and decided she would have to finish up w/out us.
Then on to Nick. WOW! He is so beautiful in person! The concert was great. He did the usual - Dodge commercial, came out behind the white sheet, sang some songs from the album and a few covers. Then Nick said something along the lines of going back a few years to his 98 degrees days. He started singing the first verse then all of a sudden OUT CAME DREW to sing with him! :amazed: They sang a little bit more of the song and then OUT CAME JUSTIN!! :nuts: What an AWESOME surprise!!! It was 3/4 of a 98 degree reunion! It was SO FUN to see them on stage together!!
The rest of the concert was really good too. He sang Slave to a girl in the audience - she was SO cute and did a great job playing the part!!:bigsmile: She really played up to him and enjoyed every minute of it.
He ended the concert w/ WLOM and EVERYONE in the crowd was singing along. It was really cool to hear that. He let us finish most of the song for him. :)
The only way the concert could have been better is if I'd had front row seats and a VIP pass! :( OH well, maybe next time. :)
One of the coolest moments for me actually did not involve Nick! I got to meet Dirtie Blonde and they were so wonderful. I was so impressed w/ them that I just wanted to tell them how great they did. So we went out to the meet and greet (CD signing area) where they were and started to walk up to the table. I kind of looked at the usher guy ?? and said, "Is this the line - can we just talk to them?" (I didn't see a line for CD signing). He said, "Did you want an autograph?" I said, "No, I just wanted to tell them how good they were!" (I'm not much into autographs - Having someone's signature on a piece of paper doesn't do much for me). He turned around to a few of the band members who were close to him and said, "She really liked you all!" LOL! Sp I said to the guy I was closest too (the blonde one), "You guys were amazing! You are all so talented". He said "thank you so much" and blew me a kiss. :)
Later on (still trying to suffer through Joanna) we were standing at the back of the theatre and the lead singer of DB and a few other bandmembers were walking down the steps towards us. I reached my hand out to her (and she took my hand) and I said "You guys were great! Your voice is amazing. I was so impressed w/you guys." She said "Ahh, thank you girl! Thank you so much!". :bigsmile:
She (and the rest of the band) were so sweet and so appreciative of everyone's support.
So that was my night in a nut shell! We had a great time! Waited around for a second to see if Nick would come out of the building but it was too cold and I needed to get home to my babies! ;)
*adding* I couldn't believe how many GUYS were there!! I'm talking FRAT BOYS! ??? We were right in the middle of a bunch of them and they had there cell phone cams out and were singing along! I couldn't believe it!!:laugh:
Awsome TeamLachey!!! Awsome so you got to go to two concerts that is great!!
Do you know if Vanessa was there?

Hey Booga! No I just went to one. The original date for this concert was three weeks ago but it was postponed until tonight. It was worth the wait though! :)
I saw no sign of Vanessa. :(
Thanks for sharing! I'm guessing Vanessa is either filming her part in the Fantastic Four movie or she is still in NY. Movies only film for 6 weeks or even less, especially movies like Fantastic Four. Since they started filming a couple weeks ago, I'm guessing Vanessa had to go to Toronto to film her part.
I don't know if she is in NY because she was not on TRL today.

He played the part pretty well BUT he didn't have that HUGE smile on his face like he did w/ V. It was all business and entertainment! When he sang to Vanessa he couldn't stop smiling.:bigsmile:
Awwww thanks. I knew it. I've seen him perform Slave so many times through YouTube. He never had a huge grin as he did with Vanessa.
Yeah, that's why I'm guessing she's filming right now.
The only reason I am thinking that she may be there is because she was not on ET last night and as I said in the earlier post she was not TRL either.
Also, take into account that only because Nick had her come out to sing to her we would have never known she was in Atlanta because she was backstage eating.
So I guess we will find out later.
Sorry Teamlachey for some reason I thought you were at one of the other shows. Glad you had a great time and thanks so much for sharing. :)

VERY TRUE! Vanessa definitely could have been there somewhere. THere was no sign of her in the crowd or off to the side of the stage (although w/the lights it was REALLY hard to see off stage), but she may have been backstage.
I didn't stick around to see who got on the bus after the concert but hopefully someone else did and can give us the details! :D
Can I just say now that I love Booga and TeamLachey? You guys are so fun and positive and not Anti-Vanessa. I seriously feel like I'm the only one who likes her sometimes.

I do really like Vanessa! She's cute and fun and I love how she supports Nick completely. She has a busy schedule bouncing between two TV shows yet she has taken the time to fly all over the world with Nick and to tour with him!
Vanessa looks at Nick like she is in awe of him. They both seem so genuinely happy...and he deserves SO much to be happy! Any woman who can make him smile like she does is A-OK with me!! :D
I completely agree. I remember during the WLOM Making the Video. When he was filming the first scene in the morning she was watching so intensly. You can see in her face that she was feeling his sadness in the song. I'm happy Nick has Vanessa. She is so dedicated to him. I don't understand why people don't think she is good for him.

I like Vanessa! I liked her before Nick started dating her so now I like her even more. And let me just add that pictures and TV do her no justice. I was so close to her in Nashville when she was getting on the bus that I could have reached out and touched her. She is flawless looking. Absolutely gorgeous.

That is a great review.Me and my bf aslo really liked DB, he thought the lead singer was hot, and had amazing voice. At the atlanta concert she kept commenting on how "****ing" sexy Nick Lachey was (that was her exact words), and of course the crowd went crazy, I thought that was cute.

I have reviews from the bus. The crew was telling everyone that Nick had left on the bus as soon as the concert was done, but of course being fans no one was moving. The stage manager was being mean to everyone that was waiting. There wasn't but like 20 of us out there and they were threatening to kick us off the alley after we were told that we could move over the barricade into the alley. We were asking everyone if Nick was still inside. Everyone was telling us no besides one guy. We would ask and he would crack a smile and tell us yes. We wait about an hour and up pulls a Escalade. Drew walked out and drove the Escalade. We had 3 people come and tell us that when Drew came out the back door, Nick had went out the front and got right onto his bus. So we waited in the cold and never got to see him, BUT we goto see Drew.

I agree with your assement that it is wonderful to see Nick get the support he deserves and I to love seeing them together.

I'm so glad there are people who like Vanessa. I remember watching Vanessa win Miss Teen USA, she was so pretty and down to earth. I'm glad she is with Nick and they are making eachother happy. I hope it's more than a fling.

When we got to the parking garage we looked over the side and heard the guy saying Nick had left. I knew (from reading reviews) that he was still in the building and would not come out for awhile.
We decided that Nick would have to leave COlumbus w/o us watching though. Seeing him perform was good enough for me! I knew someone else would have the patience to wait and would write a review for me later!! :D
adding - Andrea, you should write a review too since you had such great seats! I'm sure you could add a lot more detail since you were right up there with Nick!! I would love to hear about the concert from your point of view!!

I kind of wondered if the mini reunion was a little something special for Columbus since the original concert date was cancelled and rescheduled?? Maybe, maybe not. EIther way, it was the HIGHLIGHT of the night!!

Please explain how Jeff having a reckless driving charge is holding them back? If anything it proves they ain't the 'goody-goodys' that those who didn't like 98 back in the day always complained about (with their image).

It's bad p/r. If they started up the band again right now, the press would bring up his dd charges in every article. With Nick promoting his safe kid website, Jeff's dd charge would be a blemish.

Who better to be an example of what not to do then someone who did it?? Jeff can use that experience to show kids that D&D is stupid...people are going to believe it more from someone who did it and learned from it then someone who's just talking...I know it sounds funny, but it's true :)
I don't think Jeff would hold them back at all.

I really don't know anything about Jeff. I'm not sure why the thought even crossed my mind that he was holding them back from reuniting. Maybe just b/c he is not with Nick as much as the other two are (attending concerts, Album parties, on the boat together in Cincy and then singing at the concert in Columbus).
That's my only reasoning (which really isn't much of a reason) :D.
I'm sure if Jeff had the time he would be hanging out with them on a boat or attending the concert. He is doing other things at the moment. :)
