View Full Version : Jess Interview With Jane Magazine....
Taken from: http://entertainment.msn.com/music/hotgossip/10-16-06_2
Quote:
As for Jessica, she's opening up to Jane magazine about ditching Nick, revealing she made the decision during a solo trip to Kenya in October 2005 with Operation Smile, a charity that helps children with facial deformities (the goodwill tour tellingly coincided with the duo's third -- and last -- wedding anniversary).
The plump-lipped, coif-challenged starlet says seeing the sick kids made her realize she wanted something different out of life, which apparently meant less Lachey and more underperforming albums ("A Public Affair"), movies ("Employee of the Month") and embarrassing tabloid headlines ("Dumped!").
Simpson does show some self-awareness in discussing her dating prospects, admitting she's concerned guys won't ask her out because they're worried about sullying their reputations.
But she offers potential suitors a strong incentive to take a chance on her: They might get lucky.
Jess, in a revelation that will likely send her constantly hovering dad-manager-puppetmaster Joe Simpson into a rage blackout, says she's all for sex before marriage, but warns it'll only happen if she's known the wooer for "a really long time."
**My sister just e-mailed me this, I thought it was interesting and I would share with yall. She says she made the decision to leave Nick while she was in Kenya last year, and that she wanted something different out of life..????
Nick we love you!!

If you notice, the article really doesn't list any true reasons why Jess asked for the divorce (she was unhappy with Nick, she was too young, they had grown apart etc). Past the first coment by Jess (about the trip), the rest is all filler with the gossip columnist just inserting his/her own sarchastic comments or views. Maybe the Jane interview has more info, but this gossip column is really just all hype they use to sell papers/stpries etc. It will be interesting if and when Jess/Nick really opens up about what didn't work in their marriage.

Well she has every right to be concerned about guys not asking her out in order to protect their reputation. She should also be concerned about finding another man who is willing to deal with her father.

Well, at least in this article, they've made jabs about both Nick and Jessica. That's amazing. Sorry, though, if I had a laugh or two.
Maybe someone should get their hands on the actual article in Jane before anything more is said. This article that was posted (no offense) seems more like a review than an actual interview type-article.

I went there on our three-year wedding anniversary," Simpson says. "He stayed home. On that day, everything became so clear. I was in hospitals with all these sick kids, and I was looking at the beauty of this whole different world. I just knew I needed to find something more in my life - on my own. I prayed, then looked up at the sky, and I'd never seen this before - it was a double rainbow. It was the most gorgeous thing ever. From that moment on, I've listened to Judy Garland's Somewhere Over the Rainbow every single day... At some point we realized that everything is not what we expected it to be, as hurtful as that may be."

She's still just generalizing, not really supplying any specifics as to why it didn't work for them. I know when they first broke up, it was reported Nick claimed he didn't know why they broke up however she said he did know but he wouldn't come out and say it. And I don't think the NW show was it, I think it was something more. Oh well,...maybe later.

I don't really care who Jess sleeps with.

I'm going to reserve judgment until I read the article, but I will say I think Jessica is very confused about spiritual things. If she thinks God told her to divorce her husband, then she's not listening, because that's not even Biblical.

^You have a point!
