Nick Review - China Club

I'll post a full review when I get home tomorrow. I have video and tons of pictures. Nick was great!!! His band did an amazing job! You guys are AWESOME!! :) I actually had the opportunity to meet the band after the show. My sister held up a little note telling Nick that I was the owner of this site. He read it after the Q&A that they had. I was put on the spot for a few seconds...lol. My sister recorded that part so you'll see it on the video. After the show one of the band members signaled my sister and I over. So, I was able to meet them. I couldn't meet Nick though. Next time! I'll give a more detailed review tomorrow. It's still processing in my head. lol

UPDATE: Full review

I met my sister at her job around 2pm and we headed to the China Club a few minutes later. We found parking and got in line at 3:30pm. We were the second ones in line... little did I know that I knew the person that was standing in front of us. lol I found out later on when she called and my phone rang. lol. Funny moment. Anyway, we stood out there for a pretty long time. We saw Nick twice... getting out of an SUV and a few minutes later going back into it. It happened so fast that no one was able to get a picture of him. lol Six o'clock finally came around... I'm sure everyone was numb by then and they did the check in thing. They asked us to write a question on an index card for a little Q&A that they were going to do. We were given orange wrist bands. They finally let us into the building. We had to show our wrist band to like 3 different people. We walked up the stairs and into this small room. We were like right at the foot of the stage. Once the entire room was filled they decided to start putting up barracades. Dumb idea 'cause nobody wanted to move back. Anyway, we were in there for about 30 minutes to an hour before two guys from Bowling for Soup came out to sing. They were hilarious...lol. They sang 3 songs (i think) 1985 was one of them. Then we saw their new video. After that they prepared the stage for Nick. hehe... my sister was going crazy at this point. lol Before the show she's like.. 'Oh yea. I'm not really a Nick fan.' If you would've seen her you would have thought otherwise. haha The band came onstage then Race from WPLJ came out and introduced Nick. Everybody in the room screamed. It seems so surreal when he first comes out and he's right in front of you singing. lol.. It didn't really hit me. He was great.. his band was great! Nick came out and sang Beautiful, Everywhere But Here, I Can't Hate You Anymore (I think he sang this song. lol I can't remember) and Resolution. They took a little break and Race(wplj) came onstage and did a little Q&A with Nick. They asked Nick a few of the questions that people had written on the index cards. I have that whole part on video. Afterwards, when Race and Nick shook hands my sister held up a little note telling him that I was the owner of Nickfanatic. He looked at it and read it out loud. lol He just put a huge smile on his face. He told everyone to give me a hand for such a great site. He said that he liked the new blue layout I put up. Then he plugged my site and told everyone if they ever needed to know anything about him to go to Nickfanatic.com. hehe... embarass me why don't you.. After that little moment he brought the band back onstage. Robbie just looked at me and smiled. He has a very nice smile.. :) Nick then sang WLOM as the closing song. They left the stage and a few seconds later my sister starts pulling me towards the left side. I look to my left and I see Pathik - the guitar player pointing at us and signaling us over. We go over to him and he tells me that they've always wanted to meet me. lol It was great. He took us to the back where there was a staircase. He told us to wait there so that he can get the other band members. They are just so nice. They're great. They were telling me that they always go on the site to see what they're doing next. We were talking about the layouts. They were telling me which one they liked better. I got hugs and pictures. hehe.. a few minutes later Robbie Gennet (guitar player) hit me with the door as he was coming in. lol Al Berry (guitar player) grabbed me and moved me out of the way. lol Thank you for that. I got a hug and picture from Robbie. hehe I love his smile. They told me I should get into concerts for free. lol..We talked a little more about the site before they had to go and clean up. What a freakin' great night that was.. I can't stop smiling!! :Big Grin: :Big Grin:

OMG!!! Tonight was just so awesome. You should've seen the look on his face when he read the note. He said that he likes the new blue layout. :D I was right up front. I'll post the video of it tomorrow.

Yeah, they said that they loved the site. They go on it to see what they're doing next. They said that they've been wanting to meet me. They just didn't know where I was from. They're really nice.

Les, If anyone on this site deserves to meet Nick it's you! This site is huge support for him! I'm glad you got to meet the band!

Yea, Pathik (I think that's his name). He was telling me that they thought someone from the record company was running this site 'cause a fan couldn't possibly know so much info. lol They were super nice though. I was told I don't give the band much love. lol Oh yea and one of them liked the green layout. I only had that layout up for what one day.

LOL @ the thought that someone from the label was running this site - they don't update NICKLACHEY.Com - why would they update an unofficial site?

It is great that the band - and Nick - enjoy the work you put into the site, Lessers :) And - it's hard to give the band much love - when they aren't extremely 'well-known' as Nick's band :P But we know they all do a great job helping Nick sound awesome every time he performs :)

Great review Les, sounds like you had a super great time & lloking forward to the pixs an dvideo. Here' my question though. Please excuse the delicate subject matter (& guys you can just ignore thanx!) however, considering how COLD it was yesterday, please explain to me how you are all able to stand in line for HOURS and not have to hit the ladies room????????????????? I always wonder about this! haha Do they have restrooms near by for the fans?????? Also, how do you stay warm??? Even with tons odf layers,...it got pretty darn cold in PA and I know NY was worse with the snow.

Leslie, that is so amazing!!! I am so happy that you got the recognition that you deserve. You do so much for this site and supporting Nick that it must not go unnoticed! I have a slight suspicion that the registrations will be going up on this site! I already noticed a difference just in the last week!

As for the band, I only got the chance to meet Robbie. I thought he was extremely nice and I have a feeling that we have not heard the last from him. He will do well and I am definitely a fan!!

thanks for posting... i loved the pics and video. it's great that he read your sign and recognized your major dedication and contribution to keeping Nick fans informed and connected. we all appreciate what you do and it's obvious Nick does too! :) i think its so cool that he noticed the new blue colour sceme as it was just changed recently... i bet he loves reading the fan reviews on the main page. It's an 8 hour drive but I decided to fly since I was only going for the weekend. I am a huge Nick fan! I was thankful that I had the chance to meet him too! Made the trip well worth it!
