Poor Nick....
http://www.peta.org/Automation/AlertItem.asp?id=1007
Nick Lachey, pop singer and star of MTV’s reality show Newlyweds, recently appeared on the cover of Details magazine wearing a full-length fur coat. PETA wrote to Nick, hoping that he’d let us know that this was an isolated mistake and that he doesn’t truly support the terrible cruelty endured by animals who are killed for their fur, but to date, we have received no response.
Animals raised to become someone’s fur coat spend their lives in tiny, barren, urine- and feces-encrusted cages where they are abused and exposed to the elements. Investigations have found animals with gruesome injuries who were not provided with veterinary care and foxes and minks who were pacing in endless circles after being driven crazy by their confinement. In the wild, animals like raccoons and foxes who are caught in steel-jaw leghold traps-the most widely used trap-endure excruciating pain from the steel bars clamped around their legs, paws, and bodies.
Nick has left his boy band-now, he needs to act like a man by rejecting all forms of animal abuse. Please write to him, asking him to set a good example for his fans by rejecting the cruelty of fur from now on:
