IMS float will carry Simpson, Lachey in 500 Parade

The 500 Festival Parade just got a glamour shot with news that both Jessica Simpson and her hubby, Nick Lachey, will ride in the May 29 parade atop the Indianapolis Motor Speedway float, according to festival sources.

Fans can catch a glimpse of the newlyweds on the float that celebrates the theme "Lights, Camera, Traction" the day before pop star Simpson sings the national anthem at the track.

Folks behind the scenes trying to get all of this celebrity stuff to come together say Lachey may do more than wave to the crowd along the parade route, but you know how that goes: Details are still being ironed out.

Having the couple in town for the parade before the 88th Indianapolis 500-Mile race leaves everyone wondering if they will show up at the Snake Pit Ball on May 29.

good grief - she slaughters the Nat'l Anthem. They need to get someone who can do it justice - such as Buddy Jewel - without screwing up the arrangement to show off their vocal 'talents'. That song is about the country, not an artists vocals. Nice to know I may catch a glimpse of Nickers there though ;)
