Jeff Timmons of 98 Degrees Performs at Wildfire Opener Pop Sensation To Perform Anthem and Halftime Act April 23 At County Center
White Plains, April 15, 2004 - Pop Star Jeff Timmons, founding member of the multi-platinum selling group 98 Degrees, to appear and perform the National Anthem, as well as a special halftime performance, during the Westchester Wildfire home opener set for Friday, April 23 (7:00 PM) at the Westchester County Center.
Timmons is about to embark on his solo career with the release of his debut CD, "Whisper That Way," which is currently available exclusively at his website www.jefftimmons.com and in all major retail locations this summer. "Whisper That Way" is an extremely personal album for Jeff as an artist. "I really wanted to create this album on my own - from writing the songs to producing the record - as it was my first chance to show my fans who I am as an artist," says Timmons. "When you are part of a successful group, it is an amazing collaborative effort, but it is definitely exciting to have all of the creative control this time around.
As a huge sports fan and former college football player, Timmons is thrilled to be a part of the tip-off for the Wildfire opener. "I love sports and am such a fan of John Starks that this is going to be a special evening," says Timmons. "And having the Wildfire Dancers behind me is something I am looking forward to during my performance!"
The Westchester Wildfire franchise enters its second season of USBL action with a 30 game schedule from April 20 through June 19 and features a 15-game home schedule, 13 games at the Westchester County Center and 2 games at the Pleasantville Campus of Pace University. Wildfire tickets are priced at an affordable $15 for adults, $10 for children. The USBL, now in its 19th season, is headquartered in Milford, CT., and has had more than 150 alumni members who have played or coached in the NBA.
