This is the way TRL is ran, at least in the 98 Degrees days. I've mentioned it before.
I've been to NYC in the summer and eventhough they say it's filmed Live--it isn't. I was there in August of 2000 when no celebrities were scheduled and showed up in the a.m. in Times Square and everyone was being let in for the studio auidence and that was around 10:00 a.m. We came back when it aired and there was not a soul to be found. So, if it's still like the old days, then what you vote for today is actually shown tomorrow.

Really, I just called 1-800-DIAL-MTV and then put in 16421, then Vanessa's voice comes on and says Thanks for voting and to make a shout out, which I don't do. And I keep repeating that untill I get tired. It never tells me anything that I can't vote or anything like that. It has always accepted my calls, even when I vote at 3 in the morning. So I waste my minutes and only 3 votes get in, because if that is the case theni should just vote 3 times.

I was wondering how the countdown was made because when the Vanessa and Nick pics came out, they were taken during a day when Vanessa was supposedly doing TRL, and then someone on some board said that that week they taped two shows per day, so how is the countdown accurate with the votes when the show is pretaped?

I do think that they probably don't even count the votes and decide who will be on the countdown, like now Ashlee is in and Nick is out, and when Jessica's video full of celebrities rollerbladding in minishorts comes out at the end of the month, Ashlee's video will be out and Jessica's will be in.

Well I will keep voting and maybe when Vanessa comes back, she can help Nick out.

I'm not sure - they've changed the system recently (from what I can tell - cuz I just called in on there).

BUT - that could well mean that it's a whole lot easier to 'stuff the box' with votes for an artist.


HOWEVER - there has (since day 1 pretty much) been speculation that it's rigged & the producers picked the songs on the countdown. BUT NK fans dispute that since they somehow managed to pull a coup and get one of the NK vids on the countdown one day.

They probably removed WLOM due to the new single. They want the new single to be voted for, not the old one. That's my thoughts anyway. I'm not too familiar with TRL and if they have 2 songs by the same artist as choices to vote for. It wouldn't make sense to keep WLOM as a choice with ICHYA coming out.

It would be nice if MTV posted the rules for voting on the site where you could get a sense if it's supposed to be unlimited voting or not. It's just recently that we have been able to vote more than once right? When WLOM was on the countdown, I was only allowed to vote once and never had the problems that I have now. All we can do is keep voting and pray that he gets on the countdown Monday.

It would be nice if MTV posted the rules for voting on the site where you could get a sense if it's supposed to be unlimited voting or not. It's just recently that we have been able to vote more than once right? When WLOM was on the countdown, I was only allowed to vote once and never had the problems that I have now. All we can do is keep voting and pray that he gets on the countdown Monday.

Someone pointed this out before.. sometimes it says 'Thanks for voting' and sometimes it doesn't. I think when it says that is when you know for sure that the vote was counted. I'm gonna start clearing my cookies like I was doing before instead of voting over and over (since it was letting me vote tons of times). We'll see where he appears on the countdown when it airs on Monday to test it out.[/b]

Email the link to friends and ask them to vote for Nick. We need to increase the voting numbers. Voting multiple times is obviously not working like we think.
