Lindsey Beckham was your typical person. Loving daughter, caring mother, always doing things for others. At 20 she became a mother. When she told the father that she was pregnant, he took off on her. That left Lindsey to raise this baby for herself. In 2002, she gave birth to a little girl named Marissa Nikkole Beckham. It was now 2005 and Lindsey was happy to have Marissa in her life.

“Marissa, come on honey, we got to get you dressed so that we can go see Nana and Papa!� Lindsey said, as she was arguing with her now three year old daughter. Marissa was not cooperating today at all.

“NO! I’M NOT GOING!� Marissa said.

“Your going, and that’s final!� Lindsey said, as she threw clothes on Marissa finally, and did her hair.

“I hate you mommy!! You wouldn’t let me go to Katie’s party!!!!� Marissa said. Deep down inside Lindsey, it was for Marissa’s good. She wasn’t about to let her three year old daughter go to some strangers house, where it was rumored that the father beat her.

“Uh, its for your own good. Papa’s got a surprise for you!� Lindsey said, as she got herself ready finally.

“Really? What is it?� The excited three year old asked.

“Can’t tell you. You’ll just have to wait and see.� Lindsey said, as she smiled. Her daughter meant the world to her. She changed Lindsey’s life for the better. At 20, becoming a mother was the last thing on her mind, but she didn’t care. She was a mother, a mother with one thing in mind “to raise the baby by herself with no one’s responsibility.�

“Oh come on mommy!! Marissa loves you. More than Drew does.� Marissa said. Drew was just a friend of Lindsey’s. Marissa had drawn Drew to Lindsey.

“I love you too, honey, but I can’t tell you. Papa wouldn’t be very happy.�

“Oh yes he would!! Now if we don’t get moving momma, den I’m going to go INSSSSSSSSSANE!!� Lindsey laughed at her daughter. She put on Marissa’s sandals. She then threw on some flip flops herself. Lindsey picked up Marissa and off to the garage they went. Marissa was in for a surprise.

At Lindsey’s parents house

“OH MY GOD!! A PUPPY!?!?!?! SOOOOOOOOOOOOO CUTE!!!!� Marissa screamed.

“You like him?� Lindsey’s mom asked.

“Uh huh!! Freddie is just to darn cute!! Can we keep him momma, huh huh huh?!?!?� Marissa asked.

“Sure! Why not.� Lindsey smiled at her daughter who was shrieking at this point.

“Think she likes him?� Lindsey’s dad asked.

“I think Marissa fell in love.� Lindsey said.

“But Freddie?� Her mom asked.

“She’s three, give it a break!� Lindsey said.

“True, but we were picturing her naming the puppy something like Ducky.� Her dad said.

“That’s what I was thinking. Freddie works though.� Lindsey said as she looked at Marissa rolling around with Freddie. Freddie was a Chocolate Lab. Lindsey had one as a child, and when her parents dog had puppies, they kept the chocolate dog aside for Lindsey and Marissa.

Later that night

“Mommy, can Freddie sleep in my bed with me?� Marissa asked.
“I’m afraid not honey. Freddie’s sleeping in the kitchen tonight.� Lindsey said, as she tucked Marissa into bed. Marissa began to cry.

“I hate you so much right now!!!� Marissa said.

“I saidNO! AND THAT’S FINAL MARISSA!� Lindsey said as she threw the covers on Marissa, and left the room. She heard Marissa crying for about ten minutes, and then she fell asleep. Lindsey was stressed out. Raising a daughter was tough on her. She wished she had a daddy for her.

Lindsey then hopped online. She saw Drew online, and then messaged him.

Lindsey- Hey Drew!
Drew- Hey Linds, what’s up?
L- not much, got a puppy today, Marissa told me she hated me because I wouldn’t let the puppy sleep in her bed.
D- that’s not nice of you.
L- I don’t want her waking up in the middle of the night from having a wet bed.
D- True, listen, I got to go. I’ll call ya soon.
L- night

Lindsey has signed off.

After that, Lindsey got changed herself, and went to bed. She had to go to work early the next morning, which wasn’t pleasant for her.

After dropping Marissa off at the Kiddy Kamp, she headed to work. She worked as a Elementary school teacher during the school year, but had a summer job as a receptionist at the local hotel.

“Thank you for calling Morton Suites, this is Lindsey, how may I help you? Sure… hold one moment please… what we have available at this current time is the honeymoon suite for $200 a night. You want to book it? Sure… One moment please… I need your name, address, city, state, zip code, and two phone numbers where you can be reached. Okay. For 9 nights, that’s $1800 plus tax. Your reservations are for August 1st through the 10th. As always, thank you for calling Morton Suites. Have a great day.� Lindsey said as she got off of the phone.

“How many more days until you go back to teaching?� Her manager Mike asked.

“Four weeks, nine days, 21 hours, and 22 minutes.� Lindsey said.

“You have it figured that far already?� Mike asked.

“Sure do. Yeah, it’s tough being a single parent.� Lindsey said.

“I didn’t know you were a single parent!!!� A coworker named Abbie said.

“Yeah.. Long story gone short: Marissa’s father is an [arse]hole I never want to speak to again.� Lindsey said.

“Sorry to hear that.� Mike said. Lindsey smiled and continued on working.

Five o’clock rolled around rather quickly for Lindsey. She had to now go leave and pick up Marissa. She already knew Marissa was going to be cranky from Kiddy Kamp. That’s how she always was. Marissa hated it, but it was what Lindsey could afford. “Marissa Beckham please.� Lindsey said, as she went to go get her daughter.

“Ah yes, Ms. Marissa. She sure is a handful, isn’t she?� They asked.

“Your telling me. She was mad at me last night because I wouldn’t let the puppy sleep in her bed with her!� Lindsey said. They all laughed.

“MMMMMMMMMMMOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM MMMMMMMMMMMMMMYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!â₠¬Ã‚Â� Shrieked Marissa.

“I take it she noticed me.� Lindsey said as they all laughed.

“I missed you momma!!!!� Marissa said.

“Now how about we get out of here and go get some McDonalds!� Lindsey said, as Marissa’s eyes got big.

“Okay! Bye peoples!! See you tomorrow!!� Marissa said. Sounded like Marissa had a great day and loved it now.

“Did you have a good day Marissa Bear?� Lindsey asked as she lifted her into the SUV.

“I sure did!! We did arts n crafts, and built a snowman!!!� Marissa yelled at Lindsey.

“Uh, Marissa, this is California… Los Angeles to be exact… We don’t get snow…� Lindsey said, as she smiled at the little girl that resembled her.

“Duh momma, we made it out of condruction paper!!� Marissa said.

“Oh, my mistake Marissa.� Lindsey said, as she smiled at her daughter.

“Duh momma!!� Marissa said.

“Honey, what do you want from McDonalds? We’re going through the drive through.� Lindsey asked her daughter.

“A chicken nugget.� Marissa said.

“Just a chicken nugget?� Lindsey said.

“You know what I mean momma!!� Marissa said.

“I know, I know. Just the typical Chicken Nugget Happy Meal with a chocolate milk for a special little girl.� Lindsey said.

“You got that right again momma! I’m the PRINCESS!!!!� Lindsey then laughed at her daughter.

“You goof.� Lindsey said.

Since it was Friday, Lindsey and Marissa always watched a movie together. Marissa didn’t have a set bedtime on Fridays. Whenever she fell asleep in Lindsey’s arms was fine with Lindsey. Lindsey watched her daughter sleep. She then remembered when she found out when she was pregnant. She was so happy. Then she told Jeremy, Marissa’s father. He walked out on her, calling her a lying skank who slept with anyone she could to get pregnant. He also wanted Lindsey to have an abortion, but she said no. She wanted to keep her baby. Little did she know she’d give birth to a little girl, who’d make her whole world change. Marissa was the cutest little girl that she’d ever met. Marissa Nikkole Beckham meant the world to Lindsey, and nothing was ever going to change that. Not even if a guy did come into her life. Not even if one of her close guy friends came closer to her. Nothing. She would love Marissa till the day she died, and longer. She loved being around her daughter. Marissa brought the sunshine into her life by being so crazy. Lindsey liked that. She always thought of Marissa as someone that meant the world to her.

The next day Lindsey was out with her friend Erin, and her daughter Sarah. Erin was trying to convince Lindsey to ask Drew out on a date. “And when was the last time that you have gone on a date, without Marissa?� Erin asked.

“Two years ago… And look where that lead to. He ran off when I said that.� Lindsey said.

“True, but Drew LOVES Marissa. You know that.� Erin said, as she handed Sarah and Marissa a crayon.

“Why won’t you listen? I’ve tried. He’s turned me down twice because of prior arrangements he’s had!� Lindsey said.

“Oh give me a break honey! Ugh!! I’ve told you before, try and find a day that you two can get together for a date!! He loves you Linds. He really does!� Erin said.

“Fine. I’ll call him now.� Lindsey said as she reached for her cell phone. She let it ring. He didn’t pick up. She left a message, “Hi Drew, its me, Lindsey. I was wondering if you wanted to get together soon for a date. Let me know. Call me back.�

“See, how hard was that?� Erin asked.

“You suck Erin, but I love ya----� Lindsey said as she was interrupted by her phone ringing.

“Who is it?� Erin asked.

“Drew. Hello? Uh, tonight, uh, sure. You’ll pick me up? 8:30 is okay… Talk to you later.. Yeah, whatever. You know I’ll leave her home alone. Bye Drew! I got a date! I got a date!! I got a date?� Lindsey said.

“Your weird Lindsey, but I love ya.� Erin said.

“Shush up Erin!!� Lindsey said. They both laughed.

“I guess I’ll be watching Marissa tonight. I’ll just tell Dave we can’t do anything since your going on a date for the first time in two years!� Erin said. Dave was Erin’s husband.

“Gee thanks, what are friends for. Wait a minute, I watched Sarah last week so you could try to conceive another child! Now your returning the favor by watching my princess for me so I can go on a date for the first time in two years!� Lindsey said as they laughed harder.

“Well I suppose. Little did I know last week that I was already pregnant.� Erin said.

“You goof. Maybe you shouldn’t have done anything then.� Lindsey said. Erin shook her head at Lindsey.

“Well, looks to me like we’ve got to get someone ready for her date. Its 6:45.� Erin said.

“Uh, sure, why not.� Lindsey said, as Marissa and Sarah were coloring at the kitchen table.

“Girls, come on, we’re going up stairs. You two can color some more in Marissa’s room.� Erin said.

“Okay mommy!� Sarah said, as Marissa and Sarah ran up the steps to Marissa’s room.

“Those two girls are goofs.� Erin said.

“They sure are, but we love them, don’t we?� Lindsey said, as she grabbed Freddie from Marissa’s room and put him on lockdown down in the kitchen.

“Now lets get you ready to go out!� Erin said, as she helped get Lindsey ready.

When Drew arrived at Lindsey’s house at 8:30, Erin had been gone with Marissa and Sarah already. Marissa was going to be spending the night over at Erin’s. “You look great Lindsey.� Drew said.

“Right back at ya Drew.� Lindsey said, smiling.

“I thought that we’d go out for some Mexican food.� Drew said.

“Ooh, you already know how to win my heart. I love Mexican food!!� Lindsey said.

“That’s what I’ve heard. I’ve also heard you like anything.� Drew said.

“True. To be honest, I like French and Chinese as well.� Lindsey said, smiling.

Once they got to Drew’s car, he had surprised her with two dozen red roses. “Oh Drew, you didn’t have to!!� Lindsey said, as he got into the car himself.

“Yes I did. Lindsey, I’ve like you since the day I saw you playing in the park with Marissa.� Drew said, as they drove to the restaurant.

“Really? I’ve like you since then as well.� Lindsey said, as she smiled at Drew.

“Uh huh. I admire anyone that treats their child with respect, like you do with Marissa. You really like me? How come it took so long to ask me out?� Drew asked.

“I’ve been trying to ask you out for a month, but this was the first time that you agreed to go out with me. I’m sorry Drew!!� Lindsey said, as she looked at him.

“Its okay. I’ve been wanting to go out with you for longer than that. But I’ve never gotten the balls to do it.� Drew said.

“Well I guess that makes two of us.� Lindsey said, as she smiled at Drew.

“So tell me, why is a hot person like you single? Where’s Marissa’s father?� Drew asked, as they sat down in the booth.

“Back in 2002, I was in love, Marissa’s father and I had wanted a baby. I agreed. Then I became pregnant with Marissa, and then he denied her. He still denies her to this day. That makes me mad. I’d NEVER deny that little girl. She’s the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. She’s my life. That’s why I’m still single. I love her with everything I have, and 29 time more.� Lindsey said.

“Well that sucks. You are definitely doing a fine job with her. How do you do it?� Drew asked.


“Way back in the beginning, I had the help from my parents. Then When I turned 21, I decided to move out of the house with Marissa. They still help me out with her and everything, but not as much anymore. They told me that they adore the way that I’m raising my little girl, and that they want me to do things for her on my own now. I mean, they helped me raise my daughter for almost a full year after she was born. I really do appreciate my parents help. They watch Marissa for me every Tuesday and Thursday. Marissa loves being with them.� Lindsey said.

“Wow, who gave her the dog?� Drew asked.

“They did. When I was growing up, I had a chocolate lab. Back in 1996, Charles died. That made me cry. Then my parents current dog had puppies. It had one chocolate lab. My dad called me and ask me if I wanted it, and I said sure. Little did I know, it’d be named Freddie.� Lindsey said.

“Chocolate lab? I bet he’s a real cutie! Did your heart melt when you met Freddie?� Drew asked.

“Oh yes. He came up and licked Marissa in the face!� Lindsey said. She and Drew were having the time of their lived out on their date. Lindsey didn’t want it to end.

“Well Lindsey, I’ve had a blast from the past with you. I’d like to see you again, if you don’t mind.� Drew asked, as he walked her up to her doorstep.

“I’d like to see you some more as well. Would you like to come in for some coffee or something?� Lindsey asked, as she smiled at him.

“Sure! Coffee’s always so good.� Drew said, as they walked into her kitchen. “Nice place you have here.�

“Thanks, sorry for all the clutter. Marissa didn’t clean up her mess.� Lindsey said, talking about all of Marissa’s toys everywhere.

“Oh its okay. I completely understand. I take it that she likes Barbie.� Drew said.

“She sure does. And my brother in law and sister makes sure she gets every little Barbie thing out there. In her room she has Barbie’s Dream House.� Lindsey said.

“Wow, one spoiled little kid your raising there.� Drew said.

“She sure is.� Lindsey said. Before they knew it, it was 2:30 AM, and Drew had to be up by 10 to work. So they hugged, and then he left. Lindsey was so happy. They made plans for Saturday night again.

The next day Drew called Lindsey and asked her out on a date that night. Lindsey agreed. But she had to spend the day first with Marissa. Marissa was mad at her for leaving her last night. Marissa had to understand that Lindsey was falling for Drew now. But what would a three year old understand? “Marissa Bear, can mommy talk to you?� Lindsey asked her daughter.

“Sure momma! What is it?� Marissa asked.

“I want to talk about Drew.� Lindsey said, as she looked at her daughter in the eyes.

“Go on momma, I’m listening.� Marissa said, as she crawled into Lindsey’s lap.

“Listen, I’m sorry that you didn’t have a good time over at auntie Erin’s house, but I need to get out at times, with out you. You’ve got to understand that, okay? Mommy still loves you, I always will. I just need to get away from you every now and then and try and find a nice daddy for you. You understand that, don’t you honey?� Lindsey asked her daughter.

“I understand. But are you leaving me with auntie Erin again?� Marissa asked.

“No, you’re going by nana and papa tonight. Actually they’re coming here. Are you okay with me going out with Drew?� Lindsey asked.

“Uh huh. Me like Drew.� Marissa said, as she smiled at her mom.

“So it is okay if I go out with him again?� Lindsey asked.

“Uh huh. I got my Freddie with me night, so I don’t care.� Marissa said.

“Is that why you didn’t have a good time by auntie Erin’s? Because Freddie wasn’t there?� Lindsey asked.

“Uh huh. Me miss Freddie.� Marissa said.

“I see. And why did you miss Freddie?� Lindsey asked.

“Because we had a date last night.� Marissa said.

“And where were you and Freddie going?� Lindsey asked, laughing at her daughter.

“To Chuck E. Cheeses. Freddie and I were going to go crawl through the tunnels.� Marissa said.

“And how were you going to get there?� Lindsey asked.

“You.� Marissa said.

“Me? Why me?�

“Because you can drive, duh.�

“Don’t ‘duh’ me, missy.�

“Fine, I won’t.�

“Marissa Nikkole!�

“Did I mention how much I love you momma!�

“Don’t make me fall for that young lady!�

“I don’t know what you mean!�

“Marissa, knock it off!�

“You’re the bestest.� Marissa said, as Lindsey started laughing at her daughter even more.

Before they knew it, it was time for Lindsey’s date with Drew. Marissa greated Drew at the door. “DREW!!!!� Marissa said.

“Hey there Marissa, where’s mommy?� Drew asked, picking up Marissa.

“Up in her room. I wouldn’t go up dere if I were you.� Marissa said.

“I’ll just stay down here with you. Want to go tell her I’m here though?� Drew asked Marissa.

“Uh huh, sure!� Marissa said, as she ran up the steps. “Momma, Drew’s here!!!�

“Thanks baby.� Lindsey said, as she came out of her room, holding Marissa’s hand.

“Hi Linds, you look nice again tonight.� Drew said. She told him the same back.

“Mom, dad, you know her routine. In bed by 8:15. No whining little girl!� Lindsey said as she kissed Marissa goodbye.

“Awe man!! Are you serious momma?� Marissa asked.

“I mean it missy!� Lindsey said.

“Oh, okay momma!� Marissa said, as she hopped into her papa’s lap.

“Have a great night, Linds!� Lindsey’s mom said.

“Oh we will. Have fun with the little devil right there! And whatever you do, don’t take her and Freddie to Chuck E. Cheeses!� Lindsey said, as they were all laughing before the walked out of the door.

“Your looking so great tonight Lindsey.� Drew said.

“You look nice yourself, Drew. I think I’m falling for you.� Lindsey said.

“I was falling for you from the day that we met in the park.� Drew said.

“Marissa loves you too. She told me that when she screamed it to me this morning telling me that.� Lindsey said.

“Are you serious?� Drew asked.

“Uh huh. She really does love you.� Lindsey said, smiling at Drew.

“Hmm… I guess I could say she’s a cutie.� Drew said.

“Yeah.� Lindsey said.

At like 11 pm, Drew dropped Lindsey off. This time he just let her out of the door because he had to get up at 5 am to get to work. Lindsey thanked her parents, and then they left. After they were gone, she went into Marissa’s room. She looked at her little girl. Sleeping. Then she had memories of when she was born.

“Lindsey, you have a little girl!� The doctor said, as he placed the baby on Lindsey.

“Oh my god mom!! It’s a little girl!� Lindsey screamed with joy.

“It sure is. She looks just like you honey! To bad Jeremy didn’t want to be in her life. She’s a doll!� Her mom said.

“I love her mom!� Lindsey said, hugging her newbown daughter.

“What’s her name?� The nurse asked.

“Hmm… Perfect… Marissa Nikkole Beckham.� Lindsey said, hugging her perfect daughter.

Lindsey then picked up Marissa and held her close. No one was ever going to take Marissa away from Lindsey, and no one was going to come in between them.

Haha, Okay, now I got the story up in my room off of my parents computer down stairs where I had been writing it. I will be writing the story up here. Haha. Lol. I guess this is going to be a big distraction for me. Lol. And if I'm going to be taking a semester off of school, then I guess that I'm going to have something to do. Lol. Besides working. Lol

Three months p[arse]ed quickly. Lindsey and Drew were officially a couple. Marissa loved Drew coming around everyday. She became his little bumble bee because she was always talking about something or another. Marissa loved it. She even wanted Drew to come to her birthday party. Drew agreed. Lindsey smiled at the way that they got along so well. “Mom, can you believe how well Marissa and Drew get along so well?� Lindsey asked her mom as she smiled.

“Oh, I know. I think its great. She sure does love him.� Her mom said, as they got things ready for Marissa’s fourth birthday party.

“What do you think about Drew and I being a couple now? Do you think it will last?� Lindsey asked.

“I sure do honey. There is no way that he is ever going to hurt you. Ever. He loves you Linds, he really does.� Her mom responded.

“Of course mom. But he always asks why Marissa’s father doesn’t want to be in her life. She’s a little princess according to him. He also said that if that’d happen to him, that he’d always be there for whomever it was.� Lindsey said.

“A princess? That’s one word that she’s not.� Lindsey’s brother, Mike, said as he came into the kitchen.

“Yes. A princess. She even told me last night when she was misbehaving that she was the princess. I told her no and threw her in the bathtub because she was filthy and that if she didn’t behave, her party was canceled today.� Lindsey said.

“And then what happened?� Mike asked.

“She bit me.� Lindsey said, showing Mike the bite marks on her arm.

“Yikes. She’s definitely your daughter.� Mike said. Lindsey then smacked him on the head.

“Be quiet Mike!� Lindsey said, as she took the fruit salad outside.

“Okay, I will.� Mike said, as he helped carry out some of the food.

Marissa was overwhelmed with all her presents. She hated the clothes, but loved all the toys that she received. “Momma, why clothes?� Marissa asked.

“You’re a growing little girl who needs clothes to wear.� Lindsey said.

“Can we return them?� Marissa asked.

“Nope. We’re keeping them.� Lindsey said, as she was organizing all of Marissa’s things in her room.

“But why momma? Don’t you love me?� Marissa asked.

“Because Momma said so. You’re keeping everything, and that’s final.� Lindsey said.

“I HATE YOU MOMMA!� Marissa said, as she slammed her bedroom door.

“DON’T YOU EVER SLAM YOUR DOOR MARISSA NIKKOLE!!� Lindsey said as she was furious with her daughter.

“You can’t tell me what to do!! I’m going to go live with daddy!� Marissa said. That’s when Lindsey’s heart dropped. Her own daughter wanted to go live with her father. A father that wanted nothing to do with her, and had never once given Lindsey any money for child support. The DNA test proved that Marissa was indeed Jeremy’s daughter. Then the court ruled that he give Lindsey $250 a week until Marissa was 18. Yeah, she had yet to see a dime out of his pocket. It had been close to three years since she’d even heard from him. That hurt her.

“Oh no your not!� Lindsey said as she was holding down her daughter, when Drew came walking into the room.

“Anything I can help with?� Drew asked.

“Deal with her. I can’t seem to. She told me I’m the worst mother.� Lindsey said, as she walked out of Marissa’s room. After she left Marissa’s room, she fell to the floor in tears crying. She’d always been there for Marissa. Marissa meant the world to her, and now she didn’t even want anything to do with Lindsey. Lindsey didn’t know what to do. Or how to handle it.

“She’s in bed, asleep.� Drew said, as he went into Lindsey’s room where she was, teary-eyed.

“Thanks. I don’t feel the need to love her anymore. She hates me Drew. She really does. All because I won’t let her return the clothes that she needs.� Lindsey said.

“Don’t be mad. When you were her age, did you act the same way that she did?� Drew asked, wiping the tears off her face.

“Yes and no, depends on how you look at the situation.� Lindsey said. Drew was making her smile. Lindsey loved being around Drew. No matter what.

“See, you do love her. She’s just a pain at times, but you can deal with it.� Drew said.

“True. Thanks Drew.� Lindsey said, smiling at him.

“What would happen in your perfect world with us?� Drew asked.

“That we’d make pretty babies together.� Lindsey said, smiling at him.

“Before or after we’re married.� Drew asked.

“Uh… Both. We’ll have 2 kids before, and 9 afterwards.� Lindsey said.

“Eleven kids? Your crazy Linds.� Drew said. They were both laughing so hard at that point.

“When I was pregnant with Marissa, I loved it. I was in love with the fact that there was a child inside me. That it was something I created when I was 20. Then when she was born, my life changed. For the good. Just looking at that face made me smile. She was the world’s best baby. She was always happy, smiling at me. I love that little girl with all my heart. I don’t know why she could be mad at me for telling her no.� Lindsey said.

“Well other than what four year old wants clothes for her birthday?� Drew asked. He did have a point there.

“But she’s keeping the clothes. There’s no choice.� Lindsey said, as she kissed him. She loved him. She really did. She didn’t know what she would do if he wasn’t there. She’d go bananas trying to raise Marissa on her own. She then had a flashback.

“Mom!!! She won’t stop crying!� Lindsey said, as she herself was starting to cry.

“You just have to remember what you learned in your cl[arse]es. Always support her head and bounce her back and forth. She’ll eventually stop crying. And I know that she’s not hungry because she just ate.� Her mom said.

“Thanks mom, I don’t know what I’d do with out you.� Lindsey said.

“You’d probably be calling me every hour on the hour if you had moved out.� Her mom said.

“True. But you know, you would have helped me out, wouldn’t you?� Lindsey asked.

“Uh huh. Anything for Ms. Marissa.� Her mom said.

At that point, Lindsey started smiling. Her life was great. She loved what she was doing. Being a mother to Marissa was great to her. She’d always love that job and title: MOTHER. And at that point she then fell asleep.
