Hey y'all! this a new Drew story I have been working on. It's called "It's True" Here's the summary:

C[arse]idy Asia Kensington lives a lonely love life these days. The reason why kills her. She let a person cause her to make a fatal mistake that cost her a relationship with Drew Lachey. She knows that Drew still loves her. So, unlike moist girls who mourn over the loss of a relationship, she is going to go after it and prove it’s not over for her. Will she succeed in her task? Or has Drew truly moved on?

“It’s True”

~Chapter 1~

It was a cool and clear April evening. The not quite full moon was high and bright in the sky. The stars were like sparking diamonds dancing around the moon.

Lovers would think this night was a perfect night for a stroll. Not for C[arse]idy Asia Kensington. She sat alone on a bench, contemplating the turn of the last few months’ events. It had been tragic. A perfect relationship had been ruined, and it wasn’t her fault. Well, not directly. Still, it pained her to think about it.

She and Drew Lachey had been dating seriously for about 2 ½ years. It was a textbook relationship. They did things together, said sweet nothings in each other’s ears and exchanged little gifts from time to time. Then it had to be ruined. It happened one night when her friend, Jon, who had a MAJOR crush on her and wanted to date her, kissed her. C[arse]idy had told him to stop, but he wouldn’t take no for an answer. Unfortunately, Drew had walked in on that moment. He immediately left and hadn’t spoke to her since.

That was it. It had been 3 months ago and the hurt was still raw inside. Jon and C[arse]idy still spent time together, but that was mostly because he was making her. She wanted to slap him in the face every time she saw him because he was the reason she was hurting. He thought this was a good because he could pursue her openly. She would never love him, no matter what he did. Drew was the one she was supposed to love.

And she was ready to do anything to prove that to him. Most girls would mourn over the loss of the relationship and move on when ready. Not C[arse]idy. She was going to move to New York City for a few months and say that the relationship was not over for her. She knew it was a crazy idea. It was in her nature to do things like that. She never waited for things to fall in her lap. She either made it happen or went to it. She didn’t know if she would succeed or fail. Even if she failed, she knew it would be much better to look back on it and say that she tried, instead of letting it get away from her.

~The next day~

C[arse]idy went through the door of her favorite restaurant. She was on her way to have lunch with Ashleigh Rebecca, her best friend and identical twin sister. Though their personalities varied, they were closer than close. They never made any big decisions without the other’s advice. And she knew she would need Ashleigh’s input on this one.

Ashleigh was already sitting a table, looking prim and proper as she always did. Her blond hair was perfectly coifed and hung effortlessly around her shoulders. Her tan skirt and button down skirt were perfectly pressed. Ashleigh was perfectionist in everything, even on her looks. She never liked to look messy on anything. C[arse]idy, on the other hand, had on loose fitting khaki pants and dressy shirt.

Ashleigh’s face lit up when she saw her sister. “Hey sis, how are you?” They hugged.
“I’m good, how about you?”
“Just fine” They sat down and chatted about various things for a while.
“Ash, I’ve come up with a really crazy idea,” C[arse]idy told her. “A really crazy idea”
Ashleigh raised her eyebrow. “Oh? You’ve really had some crazy ones in the past”
“Well, I’m going to move to New York for a month or so to try to win Drew back.”
“You’ve really outdone yourself. You usually don’t let guys run your life like that”
C[arse]idy sighed. This was the reaction she had been expecting. “Drew’s different. I really do love him, unlike anyone else I’ve been with before. The only reason I’m in this situation right now is because Jon decided he wanted to make a move on me and Drew walks in”
“True. You need to ditch him”
“He won’t let me. But that’s beside the point. I want to know if Drew still loves and if he’s mad at me. I’ve tried leaving messages on his machine. He won’t return them. I’ve tried to get his brother to talk to him. That didn’t work either. So now I’ve got to go to him and I’m not leaving until I get an answer” C[arse]idy explained.
“But what if he says no? You’ll get hurt again.” Ashleigh said.
“I’ll just move on with my life. I can’t live knowing that I didn’t try to get him back.”
“If he hasn’t returned your calls, that usually means he doesn’t want anything to do with you” Ashleigh told her.
C[arse]idy rolled her eyes. The twins had different opinions when it came to love. “Not to me. I want to know if he wants a relationship again. And, as I just said, if he doesn’t want to, I’ll just move on with my life. I’ll be hurt, yes, but I’ll move on”
“That’s why I’m telling you this. I don’t want you to get hurt, C[arse]idy”
“I know you don’t sis,” C[arse]idy told her. “But sometimes in life you have let yourself vulnerable to be hurt”
“Moving on to the positive, what will you do if he does take you back?” Ashleigh asked.
C[arse]idy smiled “We’ll just cross that happy bridge when I come to it”
“If you really want, I’m not going to stop you. I just want you to be careful,” Ashleigh told her. “When will you be moving?”
“In a few days? Will you help me pack, please?”
Ashleigh smiled slightly. “I’ll be glad to”

That night, Jon had invited himself over again, as he had so many times recently. They were watching TV when she told him, “I’m going out of town for awhile”
“Oh, for how long?” He asked.
“A month” she said
His eyes widened “What would make you want to leave me for a month?” He tried to kiss her.
She pushed him away. “You’re exactly the reason I’m leaving,” she thought bitterly. “Jon, we have been through this many times. I will never love you. You’re just a friend
When will you get over that?”
“Never, because deep down inside you know you want me,” Jon said with that evil grin on his face.
C[arse]idy couldn’t remember how she had become friends with this guy. Now she regretted the fact she even met him. Her life would be so much easier if she hadn’t. She pictured Drew’s face in her mind. Oh how she missed him.
“Why aren’t you answering me?” Jon asked.
She rolled her eyes. Jon could be so freaking arrogant sometimes. “You know that people don’t have to answer to everything you freaking say”
There was an awkward silence for a few minutes. Then the conversation became normal until he left several hours later.
Still, C[arse]idy couldn’t wait till she got to New York. She would work at the New York branch at the clothing company she worked ay and then chase after her true love. Hopefully she wouldn’t regret her decision to move to New York. Whatever came, this month was going to be very eventful. She could feel it in her bones right now.

~Chapter 2~

~A few days later~

C[arse]idy and Ashleigh were packing up things that C[arse]idy would need in New York.
“So are you ready for your adventure to New York?” Ashleigh asked.
“Beyond ready. Even I come home with my heart broken, I will know that I tried and that my month spent in New York was fun”
“I’m still worried you’re not going to get what you want”
“I need to make my own mistakes, Ash. Don’t worry, I’ll be fine” She said.
“I worry because I care about you”
C[arse]idy had heard her say that so many times in her lifetime. But she knew it was true.
“How do you plan to see him again?”
C[arse]idy thought a moment. “Well, I’m gonna kind of lay low for the weekend, since my job doesn’t start till Monday. After I’ve been there a couple days, I’ll call up Nick and see if he knows any spots where Drew hangs out at all the time. If not, I’ll ask him to give me a couple of his friend’s names to call. Then I’ll show up at that place, see him there and hopefully things will go from there”
“You sound so confident about this, C[arse]idy. Aren’t you scared he’ll turn you down?”
Her eyes became sad. “Yeah, it’s the biggest fear I have. But I have to try, I really do”
“I have faith in you that you can do this. But my life is going to be so boring without you around for a month!” Ashleigh said.
“No, it’s not! We’ll still talk on the phone and IM. I’ll be back before you know it” C[arse]idy said. “Smile for me, Ashleigh”
She did so. “That’s a girl. That’s what I like to see”
“I’m going to miss you C[arse]idy”
“I’ll miss you too hun” The sisters hugged.

They went to the airport on Friday night. “Good luck sis, call me. Don’t cause too much trouble”
C[arse]idy made an innocent face. “Me, cause trouble? No!”
The sisters laughed and then hugged. “Love ya, C[arse]idy”
“Love you too, Ash.” They let each other go and the C[arse]idy went off to the gate.

C[arse]idy thought about a lot of things on the plane. Such as she hoped that Jon didn’t figure out where she was and tried to make advances on her again. Before she thought he was an ok guy and hung out with him occasionally. But now she despised him. He so arrogant and only cared about himself. And way too aggressive in his pursuit of women. What woman would be crazy enough to like him?
Drew’s face came in her mind. He had this smile that could be almost smirk and you knew he was up to something. Yet he had those gentle hazel eyes that showed he was a loving individual. His face had almost a boyish charm to it.
Tears filled her eyes. “Gosh I miss you Drew. I hope that you will be back in my arms where you belong soon” She thought.

She landed in New York at 4 am eastern time. Her body was worn out because of the flight. Once she got into her new apartment, she went to the bedroom, and fell asleep as soon as she hit the pillow.

C[arse]idy groggily opened her eyes hours later. She turned in her bed. It was 3:00. “Wow, I must have been really worn out last night,” She thought.
She washed herself up and began to look around the place that would be her home for the next month. It was nice, had tow bedrooms, a living room, bathroom and kitchen. It was nothing fancy, but it wasn’t crappy either.
On the living room table was a note for her. “Hmm… who could have left this for me?” She picked it up.

Ms. Kensington,

Hello my name is Edward Bernett. I am the owner of the apartment you are standing in. I am on vacation right now, but I don’t feel comfortable with my apartment being empty for a whole month. So when the landlord told me that someone was looking for an apartment to have for a month, I jumped at the opportunity. So make yourself at home. You don’t even have to pay rent… as long as you keep the apartment as clean as it was when you found it. I hope you enjoy your stay in New York.

C[arse]idy couldn’t believe this. He was going to let a complete stranger live in his house for a month without rent? This was too good to be true.
She wondered what she could do today. “I know, I’ll unpack a bit and then go clubbing, have some fun, dance with random guys”
She was here to win Drew back. But Drew wasn’t much of club person so there wasn’t much likelihood that she would run into him. And it wouldn’t hurt to have a little fun before she began her little plan.
Several hours of unpacking p[arse]ed by and then she got ready to go out. For her hair, she left it down, caked on a lot of makeup and out on her sexy hot pink minidress. “Sexy if I do say so myself” She thought.

While she was determined to have fun tonight, she couldn’t get too drunk and go home with some random guy. C[arse]idy would not be able to get over the guilt. She had also done that once long ago and she never wanted to go through that experience again.

She reached a nightclub, Sierra’s, a couple blocks away. That place seemed cool, so she decided to go in there.
A few hours p[arse]ed on by with her dancing with random guys. Then she saw an especially fine guy, with dark wyes and hair, and began to dance with him. After one song, he offered to take her into the VIP Lounge. ”Wow, this guy seems pretty high up if he can get us the VIP room.” Nevertheless, she agreed.

They sat down at a table together with drinks. “So, what’s your name?” The guy asked.
“C[arse]idy Kensington. Who are you hottie?” C[arse]idy had her flirty smile on.
“Brent Higgins.”
They talked small talk for a while until he asked, “Do you live here in New York?”
She shook her head. “No. I live in LA, but I’m here in New York for a month” She took a sip of her apple martini.
“Why is that?”
C[arse]idy sighed. “So you want to hear my long, sad sob story?”
“Sure”
“Well, I was dating this guy for about two and a half years. It was a wonderful. I was really in love with him. But then this guy friend of mine made a move on me and then my boyfriend walked in on that moment. He hasn’t spoken to me since. So I’m here to win him back”
“A month? Can’t you do that for a few days?” Brent looked skeptical of this.
“Yeah, but I want to take my time in getting us back into the relationship. He doesn’t forgive easily and I slowly want to build his trust again.”
“So you still love him? You don’t love the other guy?”
“Hell no! The only reason my boyfriend hates me now is because my friend kissed me. I hate that guy now. All I wanna do is slap him in the face because he made me lose him… for now.” She sighed heavily.
“I wish you luck. I hope you get him back. By the way, what’s your boyfriend’s name?”
“Drew”
“I know a Drew, what’s his last name?”
Her heart jumped. Could he know Drew? “Lachey”
”I know him. He’s a good friend of mine”
Bingo. “Do you know any hangouts that he likes to go to? Because I plan to just show up at one of them and talk to him”
Brent thought a few minutes and then told her a couple of places. “You probably don’t want me to tell him you’re here do you?”
She shook her head. “Absolutely not. I want it to be a total surprise. Can we go dance some more now?”
“Sure”

They danced for a little bit more. About 2 a.m. they went out in front the club. “Thanks for a great night tonight and giving me the information. I had a lot of fun”
“You’re more than welcome. It’s too bad that you’re going after Drew because you are really hot!”
C[arse]idy laughed. “I’m glad you think so.” She gave him a hug. “Maybe I’ll see you a around”
“Hopefully. Bye”
“Bye”
