My hubby and I were going to go yesterday while the kiddos were at school, but he ended up having to work. I think we might go this weekend while the kids are at their dad's house.

i wanna see it. it was a big talk around here in arizona for a while when it first came out. people were talking about how some kids shouldn't see it and others talked about how some parents just needed to prepare their kids first.

Here is my review:

If you have a weak stomach, don’t go and see it. The movie illustrates in detail how Jesus would have been treated like back in the times of the Romans. I did not get the impression that the Jews where responsible for his death instead I saw the Roman and the Roman belief as been responsible for it. It also displays the human side of Jesus, something that we don’t see when we read the story. As human he went thru worst pain then what we will ever feel in our life time, something that the movie shows in detail I may say. Now was the movie accurate in acording to the bible? I would have to say it can’t be anymore close to the scriptures. Well the scriptures that I been reading for the past life. One or two things where left out and added but very well played and directed. Emotional and powerful Ending, showing us that thru the pain there is hope at the end. No argument there.

hmm now i really wanna see it. and i'm kind of glad that the discovery channel and what not has taught my stomach to stop feeling so queasy. although i've never watched on such a big screen before, i'll get over it. it sounds really good.

I haven't been around in a while, so I didn't post about us seeing it yet.

All I can say is...WOW! I cried through almost the whole thing. I have been a Christian since I was 10 years old and have always known that Jesus died on the cross for us so that we could have eternal life with God. But the story is made so "pretty" by modern religion. I don't know that any church I have ever been to has emphasized the suffering and the pain he went through. Yeah...we sing about it in songs and talk about it SOME, but never to the degree that this movie does. It showed the absolute pain and torture that Jesus had to go through so that we, as sinful humans, could have life with our Father God. I was absolutely amazed by it.

I also didn't feel that the movie was anti-Semitic in any way at all. It told the facts of what happened, and didn't seem to place the blame on any particular group. The hardest thing for me was knowing that because of MY sin, Jesus went through this. I think that was why I cried throughout the whole movie.

It really changed my attitude about a lot of things. Things that I concerned major problems and issues before....I realized that they are really petty issues compared to what Jesus went through for us.

I don't know that I could ever sit through it again just because it is so brutal, but I am so glad I did watch it the one time.

I think it was a Jewish person who said that they felt the movie was anti-Semitic, but I'm not positive. I'm just going by what I saw on TV before the movie came out. I don't know any Jewish people who have gone to see it. I only know a few Jews (there aren't that many in Texas) and the ones I know refuse to go to it.

the movie is incredible. everyone should see it. i am a Christian and have been for almost 15 years. it has a lot of Catholic tradition, being that Mel Gibson is Catholic, that i didn't know about, but have reasearched it and if you would like some other info. on the movie or certain things in the movie you've never seen or don't know if they are biblical or not, let me know.
