Here's another *NSYNC story I have been writing. I hope y'all enjoy :)

~Chapter 1~ (Anna’s POV)

Have you ever had that guy in your life that will sweep you off your feet and convinces you he’s your true love? Not me, they just want to use you and leave you, never wanting any real intimacy in a relationship.

You’re probably thinking I’m a really cynical person, I’m really not, it’s just that love been making feel that way a bit these days. But, before I get too ahead of myself, I’ll tell you a little a bit about myself. My name is Anna Bethea (pronounced Bethay) Fredrickson, and I’m 23 years old. I’m 5’6, with dirty green eyes and dark brown curly hair and what you would call a ‘curvy’ woman. I would describe me a being slightly moody at times, but also very easy to get along with. You better not be ignorant around me because I really hate that about people.
And I currently live with my younger sister Summer Dawn, 19 who is going to the local college and majoring in dancing. She is a very talented dancer, you should see her sometime. She’s been doing it since she was about… 4 or 5 maybe. But she also loves to be on the computer and make wallpapers and things of that kind. She’s very good at that as well.
So, here I was, stuck in my deep sea of thoughts when Summer comes bounding in the door, looking as happy as she always is. “Hi Summer, how was cl[arse] today?”
“The usual, but it was really productive. So what have you been up to?”
“Nothing too much, just thinking about life and what’s been like, and how I can’t get guys”
“I know you hate clichés, but your guy is there, you just haven’t found him yet” Summer said “One day you’ll see that I’m right”
I rolled my eyes, she always said sappy things like that, and I still didn’t believe her and I wasn’t sure if I ever would.
Just then one of my best friends called me

“Hello?”

“Waz up, Anna?” It was Aubri

“Hey, what are you doing?”

“Not much, just sitting in my apartment with my sister”

“C[arse]i and I are hanging over at my place if you wanna come” Aubri said.

“Yeah, sure, I don’t have much else to do” I said “See ya in bit”

I grabbed my jacket and keys. “Where are you going?” Asked Summer.
“Over to Aubri’s, I’ll be back in a couple hours” I said.
“Ok, have fun” Summer turned back to the computer and then I walked out the door.

It was a 10 minute walk over Aubri’s place and then I arrived, greeted to the usual messy apartment, since Aubri really didn’t care about cleanliness.
Aubri was on the couch with her guitar, playing a song, and C[arse]i was lounging in the big lounge chair, listening
C[arse]ie and Aubri were pretty different, but they still get along pretty good and both were my best friends.
Aubri was a somewhat punk like me with a 5’5 built frame, short & spiky black hair with purple streaks, and her personality was loud and fun, but you really don’t want to piss her off because she will be REALLY mad. (I learned this the hard way in 8th grade; she wouldn’t speak to me for most of the year because of something that happened that past summer, it was pretty miserable) Aubri is the kind of friend I would go to if I was in the mood for having a good time.
C[arse]ie, on the other hand, had highlighted dirty blonde hair, blue eyes, 5’9 nicely built frame, and is very quiet and shy, she only speaks when she knows you very well, and she falls in love too easily, she’s had a couple broken hearts from that. I would go to C[arse]ie if I need someone to listen to my problems, because she is very good at that and we would sympathize with each other’s love problems.

I sat down on the couch and listened to Aubri play her guitar, and then she finished her song. “How does that sound?” She asked.
“Pretty good” I said. “What do you call that song?”
“Do You Really Know Me? You know how Derrick is all like “I know you inside and out now’ and I’m like ‘Not you [freak'n]ing don’t, I’ve only dated you for like, 2 months. I think he’s going too fast in our relationship.” She shook her head “Seems like everyone we know has a problem with relationships”
“Don’t start naming them” I said
“Yeah, we came here to get our minds off that and you usually can do that, Aubri” C[arse]ie said.
“Ok” Aubri picked up her notebook and said “C[arse]ie, you’re a good singer, why don’t you sing this while I play the guitar? Have a little jam session?”
“Darn, I wish I had brought my guitar” I said.
“Don’t worry, we can take turns”
For awhile we just took turns playing the guitar and singing, just having a little informal jam session, since all three of us were musically, and then we just goofed around for awhile and then got some food from the local 7-Elven and took the food back to Aubri’s place.
“OH” Aubri said as we were eating “Remember the night of graduation we went to 7’ Eleven at like, 2 in the morning and then played Frisbee with our group of friends and goofed off all night in that gr[arse]y field, and that lady that worked there kept telling us to leave but we wouldn’t”
“Oh, that was such a fun night” I said. “I can’t help but wonder where everyone is now, we’ve really been the only ones who have kept in touch”
“I’m sure they’re out there, having really successful lives out in other places while we kept out little hinnies here in Orlando” C[arse]ie said
We laughed, but I said “But I like it here in Orlando, and I don’t want to move, nor my life to change”
“Except for the fact that you want to have a boyfriend” Aubri teased.
“Yeah, right. Ree, we have been through this conversation a million times already. I’m just not going to worry about love right now, just enjoy myself. If a guy comes and it actually works out, then wop-dee-do. But it’s not number one priority right now”
“It will soon, Anna” C[arse]ie said “I can feel it”
I just sighed and kept on eating my food.

Around 9, I left for home. When I stepped in the door, Summer was writing in her notebook, which she kept as a diary, so I decided not to disturb her. But still, she looked up and saw me. “Hello, did you have fun with Aubri and C[arse]ie?”
“Yeah, it was great. What have you been doing all afternoon?”
“Did a little stretching for dance, talked on the computer to some people, made a couple wallpapers, then… Raelyn called me, I haven’t spoken to her since we graduated.”
Raelyn was Summer’s best friend in high school, and in the past year since they graduated, they had kind of drifted apart.
“What’s she been up to?”
“She got a job as a celebrity’s wardrobe stylist, they heard about her designs and liked them… and she’s only her first year into college!”
“Fantastic!” I said
“And she said she’d be coming over here on Saturday to hang out, do you have plans for that day?”
I shook my head “You wouldn’t mind me tagging would you?”
“No, not at all, it’ll be fun. I can’t wait to wear what she’s been up to”
“Me either”

~Chapter 2~

Saturday arrived. Summer said that Raelyn would be here about 11:30, so I told her I would be home about that time after I did some extremely boring, but necessary errand running.

After all the errands got run, I got some soda for the three of us at the local 7-Eleven, and then headed back home.
When I stepped in the door, Summer and Raelyn were gabbing like they always have on the couch. They turned to me.
“Hi Anna” Raelyn greeted in her usual perky manner.
She was pretty, about 19 or 20, with shoulder length dark goldish hair, friendly brown eyes, about 5’2’ in height with light skin and some freckles.
“Hello Rae. Would either of you like soda?” I asked.
“Sure” Summer took the Sprite and Raelyn took the Pepsi.
Once we were settled on the couch, I asked, “So how’s the job going?”
“Great. The guys are really fun to work with and they also like to include me in their social functions. They also like to tease me a bit, but it’s all in good fun. I still can’t believe that I got the job, I’m only a freshman in college”
”But it looks like you have found your niche in life, can we see some of your designs?” I asked her.
Raelyn nodded “Absolutely” She got them out of her bag.
I don’t know much about clothing design, but hers were really good. The details on the drawings of the models and clothes were very precise and the clothes themselves looked stylish yet very practical and comfortable at the same time. There wasn’t one that of them that I didn’t like.
“Wow, you have some talent” Summer said.
“These are great Rae, you’ll go far in the fashion business” I told her. That was a compliment coming from me because I rarely gave them out to anyone.
Raelyn blushed a couple shades of pink “Thank you. So, Miss Anna, have you been on any dates lately?”
I rolled my eyes. The last date I had been on was when this guy had taken me to his favorite restaurant, which I absolutely hated and then he turned out to be a complete jerk, talking about himself the whole time and I only got a word or two in it. So, when it was over, I threw my soda over his Armani shirt and ran on of there, catching curios gazes from the restaurant goers. I haven’t seen the guy since. “No, why, do you want to hook me up on one or something?”
“Actually yes” Summer said. “From what Rae says, this guy sounds perfect for you”
Argh, the [freak'n]ing clichés, where had I heard all of this before?
“Yeah, yeah, yeah, sure, sure?” I said in my offhand sarcastic tone.
“No, seriously! Your personalities would blend perfectly, I know it! Will you please go out with him, just for tonight? You don’t have to stay with him or anything, just give him a chance.”
I sighed. Maybe I should, maybe this guy would actually be different, actually not be a complete jerk. And Raelyn and Summer were looking at me with puppy-dog like looks, begging me to do it. I gave in. “All right, I guess I’ll do it”
“Yay” Raelyn said.
“Well, aren’t you two gonna tell me ANYTHING about this guy?” I asked.
“Well, his name is Lance and the rest you’ll have to find out on the date”
“Where will this date be?”
“At the T.G.I. Friday’s not far from here, at 7:00 on Monday night” Raelyn said.
“All right, I’ll be there” I said “You two won’t be interfering, will you?” I gave them a bit of a glare.
“No no, not at all” Summer re[arse]ured me. “We’re just the matchmakers”
I inwardly rolled my eyes, I hated that word
So then the subject changed and then the three of us hung out all afternoon watching a bit of TV, goofing off and joking. And not once did I learn more about this Lance character. I guess they really wanted me to wait and find out there, because they would be afraid I would chicken out of it.
So Raelyn left about 7, and then I decided to call C[arse]ie and Aubri to tell them about my date.

“Hello?” Aubri’s voice sounded really grumpy

“Hey Aub, I have something to tell you”

“Well make it snappy” Dang, something was really bothering her.

“I have been hooked up on a blind date” I said.

“Well, that’s cool. I need to get going, see ya” She hung up.

C[arse]ie’s response was a lot better. When I told her, she said “OH awesome, who’s the guy?”

“I just know his name is Lance, and nothing else”

“Who set you up?”

“Summer and her friend Raelyn, it’s set for Monday”

“Are you looking forward to it?” She asked.

“I’m not sure. I really only agreed to go on the date because they were practically begging me to” Well that was a bit of a stretch, but oh well.

“You should be, maybe Lance will be a really nice guy and you’ll decide that you really like him”

“Nothing’s probably gonna happen from it, C[arse], We’ll talk aboyt nothing really at all and then leave, never to see each other gain”

“Oh, don’t be so pessimistic all the time, Anna. I know, all these guys have been treating you like you mean absolutely nothing to them, but maybe Lance will be one of those good guys who actually loves a woman for who they are and not use you and leave you”

This was a typical C[arse]ie response. She was a true romantic, believing in destiny and soul mates and all this other stuff that I didn’t, so I kinda wrote it off. “Well, I guess we’ll just have to see what happens” I said.

“Something good will happen on it, Anna, I can feel it. Call after it’s over and tell me how it went, ok?”

“All right, I guess I can” I told her “Will you come before and help me get ready as well?”

“Gladly, what time at your place?”

“5:30.”

“Ok, I’ll be there. So, how do your sister and her friend know Lance?”

“Well, Raelyn works as this music groups’ wardrobe stylist, and Lance is one of the guys. I guess she was tired of seeing him lonely, so she called Summer and I guess they talked about hooking me up with him, and today the deal was sealed”

“Why didn’t they tell you more about him?” She asked.

“Well, my theory is that they want me to go in with a complete mystery about him and want me to meet him. Summer know I’ve chickened out on dates before, so I guess they want me to make sure I go”

“I’m sure this date will be fine. Just don’t freak out, ok? As I said, maybe Lance will actually be a man that you would like to go out with again”

“That hasn’t happened very often C[arse], and even when it did, the emotion wasn’t very strong” I protested.

“Well, Anna, there’s a first time for everything, you know? Please try to have a positive outlook on this, it will be ok”

“And take your own advice”

“Hey, I’m happy with the fact that I’m single, and it’s the first time in my life that it’s happened. Be happy that you’re going on a date; it’ll be another new experience for you. But if he does turn out to be a jerk, it’s ok, because it’ll be his loss”

I laughed. She said that every time. “Well, ok.”

“I need to be going, I promised my mom I would call her tonight.”

“OK.”

“See you on Monday” C[arse]ie said.

“All right, bye” I said.

“Bye Anna” She said.

As much I mocked it sometimes, I kinda wish I could have such a positive outlook as C[arse]ie did, but unfortunately, life hadn’t dealt me a reason to feel that way. But maybe she would be right this… maybe Lance would be a good guy and…
“Well, Anna, I guess you’ll just have to see Monday” I told myself. “We’ll make final decisions after we meet him”

Ooh... I can't wait for the date. :D

02-21-05, 12:22 PM
From Sunday and part of Monday, my life went back to normal. I just did what I always did, not really thinking about the date, But late afternoon Monday, I did start to be a bit nervous. It had been a year and a half since I had been on a date, and I didn’t want to end like it did with Mr.-I’m-The Center-Of-The-Universe. Now I was worrying about if what I would wear and if I would make a good impression, which I usually don’t.

C[arse]ie came at 5:15, 15 minutes earlier that expected, but I was still glad she was there. “Hi, do you have any idea of what your going to wear or how you’re gonna fix your hair?”
I shook my head. “That’s what I was hoping you would help me”
“I’ll be glad to do your hair for you if you want” She offered.
I smiled “Ok, thanks”

We went to my room and C[arse]ie began to work her magic on my hair. Since I had just gotten out of the shower, she dried it first and then brushed it (which is hard and you have to have a lot of patience since my hair is WAY thick”
“Wow, C[arse], you’re so good with hair” I commented.
She smiled slightly. “Not as good as my mom since she has been in the salon business for 20 years. So what you hope Lance will look and be like?”
“I really don’t care what he looks like, I just hope he has a real likeable personality.” I said.
“Jeez, Anna, you have never been picky with your guys. Don’t you have SOME idea of what your dream guy looks like?”
“Just taller than me, because I’m too short and not a pretty boy-prep type looks, you know?
“You’re not too short, and what do you mean, pretty boy looks?”
“You know, those typical jock types that you always saw in high school. I like a little nerdyness in my guys”
We both laughed. “Anna, you are such a crack up”
“Hey, I’m funny with out trying to be” I said with a shrug.
Then C[arse]ie was done. She pulled it all back into a fancy bun and made sure to make it stay.
I did my make up, just some peach colored eye shadow, mascara, eyeliner, and clear lip gloss. Nothing to dolled up; I don’t like to look like that.

Now came the final and hardest choice, the clothes. C[arse]ie and I must have spent a half and hour looking through my closet and drawers and seemed like a million clothes. I finally decided on a blue halter and black slacks and black high heeled boots.
C[arse]ie left at 6:50, wishing me luck and telling me to call her after the date was over.
Dang, 10 minutes of suspense. Every minute seemed like a complete eternity, and I thought it would never come.
7 o’clock on the dot, I heard a knock on the door. I nervously approached the door.
The guy was nice looking, about 5’10 with blond hair and beautiful emerald green eyes that ope4ned the windows to his soul. Great smile, too. Things might actually go well on this date!
“Are you Anna Fredrickson?” The guy asked.
“Yep, and are you Lance?”
“Lance B[arse], it’s nice to meet you” Lance held out his hand to shake.
“Likewise. So, no flowers and candy?”
“Nah, too clichéd, I don’t do that type of thing. Ready to go?”
“Definitely” Things were going well. Maybe this experience would be really enjoyable.

We had light conversations driving over to the restaurant and while waiting for our food. Something about it shocked me though. It was really... comfortable, not something I had felt on past dates. Lance gave me a vibe that he was easygoing and I could talk to him about almost anything. And I liked it. “Well, it may be so far so good now but wait till dinner, he still might turn into a jerk”

After we were seated and had drinks, he said “So, Anna, tell me a bit about yourself.”
“What do you want to know?” I asked him.
“Just, anything. What you do in life, where you from... things like that”
So I began to tell him about growing up in Texas, in an ok sized town and what I was like in school, and how some people thought I was stuck up because I was better off than then (I lived in a “richer” part of town, but it was still the same school district)
I conveniently left out all the love troubles, became there was no way I was going to reveal that to him... just yet.
Then he told me about his small-town life in Mississippi, how he sang in church, how he did a lot in school, just growing up, and I could tell he was raised up well, because he had been so polite and even when he talked about himself, he didn’t act like a jerk, he almost seemed modest about his accomplishments. I liked him more with every second.
“So, how did you meet up with your bandmates?” I asked.
Then he told the story of how this vocal coach that he worked with and also happened to be Justin Timberlake’s, so Justin called hi, he came down to Orlando, the group clicked, and the rest is history, yada yada yada.
“Do you like working with Raelyn?”
“Must definitely, she’s a brilliant designer for a young age and she’s the sweetest girl ever. How do you know her?”
“My younger sister, Summer Dawn and her were best friends in high school. Haven’t you figured out that she and her arte the ones that set us up pn this blind dates by now”
“Oh, I didn’t realize that. Forgive me, I guess I can be slow at times.” Lance said, blushing slightly.
I laughed. “It’s ok. You can be really funny, B[arse]”
Lance chuckled. “Too bad I can’t find a girl to send this sense of humor to share with”
“Oh, really? Why is that?”
“Haven’t really found a girl to connect with in awhile. All my other friends have got girlfriends, though.”
I felt sympathy for Lance. So I wasn’t the only one who was having love woes.
“Do you mind that they all have one and you don’t?”
Lance shook his head. “No, I just date around, seeing if I can find someone I really like and I haven’t. It’s not a REAL big deal right now, but maybe it will later”
Luckily he didn’t ask me about my love life because then it started raining and thundering outside.
“Wow, we probably should be going” I said.
“Definitely” Lance signed the bill, and then we walked out to his car in the rain.

He drove me home in the pouring rain, and once we got to my apartment building, he walked to me to the door. “I had a nice time tonight” I told him.
“So did I” Lance said, “ I would like to see you again, do you think you could come down to the studio Wednesday, we’re rehearsing for a couple shows there?”
“Sure” I said smiling. We hugged, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It felt great.
After we let go, I walked into my apartment.

Summer was on the couch, eagerly waiting for me. “So, how did it go?” She asked.
I sat down to her. “I loved it. Best date in awhile”
“Come on girl, I need more than that. Details!” Summer insisted.
I playfully rolled my eyes, and then told her all about, the conversation, the food and the overall experience.
“So, did you enjoy yourself?” Summer asked.
I nodded. “Yours and Rae’s hook up was successful. I’m actually going down to the rehearsal studio he and his friends are at in a few days.”
“Cool. Did you kiss him?”
“No.”
“Come on, Anna, why not?”
“You know me, Dawn, I like to wait out and see fid I’m truly interested in Lance. But we did hug and it felt good.”
“So you think Lance will be around for awhile?”
”That’s for me to know you to find out” I said playfully.
“All right”
Then Raelyn called, wanting to know what happened. I told her about and she seemed pleased that her matchmaking skills had been successful. Then I asked her if she would be there on Wednesday. She said she would and that I would meet the other girlfriends of the guys because they all would be there. We hung up, and then I talked to Summer about her day.

Finally, I made two phone calls. First was to Aubri, who apologized for being so curt and [nice person]y the other day because she was in a REALLY bad mood that day. So then I told her a bit about the date, then we had really fun conversation. After that was over, I called C[arse]ie, who made me recount almost every detail and we talked about love a little more.
Talking to my friends made me feel a bit better, but I still had a couple objections about this. I was scared out of my wits because I just had the most enjoyable date in years, and scared that I could let my myself get too close to Lance, and get burned again, as so many other guys had fooled me into doing. But, I had only known him for a couple hours, so it was too soon to really make permanent judgments about him. “Well, just go meet him and his friends Wednesday and we’ll make decisions about second dates then, how’s that?”
That seemed to be a good deal, and within a couple minutes I fell into a very content sleep.

Unfournately, this is the last chapter of this story. I am also on huge wirters block for this one. If i become unblocked, I will update more, but I don't know.

~Chapter 4~

C[arse]ie and I were walking in the park, talking.
“So you ready to meet his friends and their girlfriends tomorrow?” She asked me.
I nodded “Yeah, I guess”
Are you nervous?”
I flinched. “Why would I? If they like me, that’s cool, if they don’t, that’s cool too. I’m not looking to impress anybody”
“Maybe Lance”
“Well, that’s true. But I’m determined to have fun, no matter what in the world we do.”
“You and Aubri no matter what we're doing. Remember when you two made me ditch school with y’all and we spent all day at the beach?”
“And you were so resistant, being a good two shoes, going into the ‘we’ll get in trouble’ spiel, but eventually you gave in. It was fun though, I don’t regret it.
And no one knows. So I’m sure we’ll have a good time tomorrow.
“So, what are you doing tomorrow?” I asked her.
“Gotta go to my two cl[arse]es, and then practice form them some more. I so envy you that you don’t have to go to college”
(C[arse]ie’s a music major at the local college; I already went to a two-year technical college because I wanted to be a graphic designer.)
“College’s done for me, and I still have been too lazy to look for a job. Oh well. But you will go far in the music industry, you have a talented voice, Cas”
She blushed “Thanks”
(C[arse]ie was also very modest about her abilities, she says she’s ok, but in reality, she’s really good)
She looked at her watch. “I need to get home, Anna, have fun tomorrow ok?”
“All right, good luck in your cl[arse]es”
“I’ll need it”
Then we departed.

Raelyn showed up the next afternoon, which shocked the heck out of Summer and myself. “Rae, what are you doing here?” Summer asked.
“Don’t you have a job to do young lady?” I teased.
“We really don’t aren’t doing anything work wise, so I thought I would go with you where the guys are after I talk to Summer about something, is that all right, Anna?”
“That’s fine and dandy, Lyn. I need to put on some different clothes anyway” I had gone jogging earlier in the day, and hadn’t bothered to put on any different ones since.
After I dressed, Summer and Raelyn were done chatting, and so the two of us left to go see the guys, while Summer left for cl[arse].
We got into Raelyn’s sliver Jaguar, and I was shocked. Her parents were rich, but… they still let her take one of their cars to college?
“I see what you’re thinking, my parents don’t really like this one, and I did, so they let me keep it. They say it was a piece of junk.”
“Yeah, this is a piece of junk all right” I said sarcastically. “What do they consider luxurious?”
“Porches and Lamborghini. They are too picky” Raelyn shook her head. She had grown up rich, but she was still down-to-earth and as nice as anyone else could get.
“So, who’s gonna be here today?” I asked her.
Raelyn thought for minute. “Hmm… let me think of all the names…. Chris and his girlfriend Isabel, Joey and his girl, Krista, but don’t call her that, it’s Kat”
“Why not?”
“She hates the name, so abide by that rule” Raelyn said. “And there is Justin and Marica, his girlfriend. Lance, of course. And JC and his best friend, Christine.”
“Wow, another one of his friends isn’t dating?”
“Well it’s hard to tell with them. They have been off and on for years, according to Justin. And it’s a fun bunch to hang out with, so you’ll have blast with all of us. We always find a way to have a good time.”
“Then I’ll fit right in, because I’m always in for anything” We pulled in a driveway and Lance came out the front door.
“Hi Rae, Hi Anna” He said with a smile in his sexy southern drawl.
Damn, even in everyday wear, that man was really sexy. A simple green shirt to accent his eyes, and jeans. Wow.
Lance and I gave each other a quick hug and then Raelyn asked, “Is everyone here,
Lance?”
He nodded “Yes. Let’s go on in”

They arrived in the living room, where everyone was pretty much chilling. A girl who was average height, with brown hair with a few subtle blond streaks, and brown eyes looked up. “Looks like we have a new person coming in the group. Come in, come in” She had a friendly smile too.
“Introduce us to this chick Lance” a guy with brown curly hair and blue eyes said.
“Everyone, this is my friend Anna. Anna, this is Joey and his girlfriend, Krista, known as Kat to us”
I shook hands with Kat, who had been the first one to greet me, and Joey, who also had brown hair and eyes.
“Chris and Isabel”
A guy with black-brown hair and brown eyes stood up. “Tis I am pleased to meet you” Chris took a bow.
Everyone laughed. “Don’t mind him, Anna, he’s a bit of a nutcase” Isabel was petite as well, with straight brown hair and auburn highlights, browns eyes and curvy figure.
“Ok” I said, giggling.
“Justin and Marcia”
“Howdy, Anna” This was the guy had asked to be introduced. He also had a southern charm to him. His girlfriend, Marcia, just smiled and nodded her head at me.
“And last but not least, JC and his best friend, Christine”
“Hi Anna” JC, who had blue eyes and brown hair said.
“Nice to meet ya” Christine said, shaking my hand. She seemed a bit of a goody two shoes to me, with straight honey blond hair and blue eyes, and the cutest figure, but I could be wrong.
“So, now that you know everyone, let’s find a seat”
Chris and Isabel scooted to the floor so that we could sit there. I got between Lance and Kat.
So, then they asked me a couple questions and I told them that I had lived here in Orlando and that I had gone to a two year college. After that the attention shifted to the whole group.
“Dies one watch Newlyweds?” Kat asked.
“Gosh, that Jessica chick is just putting it on for attention, I hate her” Chris said.
“But hey, everyone makes comments like that, like our dear Joey over here” Raelyn
said.
Everyone started laughing, Joey blushed and I showed a really confused look on my face.
“He’s done lots of funny things over the years, Anna” Lance told me.
“Remember the one time, we were playing basketball and a couple of the girls were playing with us, and then he tried to p[arse] the ball and then he accidentally hit Kat in the nose!”
“I’m useless at sports! And she …”
“Never made him forget that” Kat finished. “I know it was an accident though, hun”
“And when Christine tripped all over her heel, and accident Will y’all give the ally knocked over a couple people”
Everyone laughed and Christine blushed “Will y’all give the bowling incident a rest”
“Heck no, because it’s so funny” Marcia said, laughing.
“”Guys, give her a break, it happened two years ago” JC said.
“Yes, Joshie!”
JC gave him the sternest look and obviously Chris knew what that meant, because he shut up after that.

We all hung out, making loud and goofy comments, and I could tell I fit right in, because this bunch could definitely get crazy (though some of the dirty jokes the guys told was a little TOO much information)
During that time, though, Lance and I kept stealing glances at each other and I knew maybe he was looking for more than friends. And I couldn’t help but notice how hot he was, and how everything else about him turned me on.
So then we all went out to dinner, had a really good time there and then it was time to go the movies. The guys wanted to see Spiderman 2, while us chicks wanted to see the Notebook. (I’m not much for weepies, but I enjoy them every once and awhile)
We decided to split up and meet after the movies.
The Notebook was really good, even though I had never read the book. I especially liked the acting provided by all the actors; you could tell that they were really into their characters.
The guys’ movie wasn’t done when we were, so we waited in the lobby for them. As the rest discussed of them the finer points of the movie I hung back. I liked this group. Maybe if myself and Lance’s relationship didn’t progress, I would still hang out with all the guys and girls. But I had found myself liking Lance more than I did a couple days ago… maybe we should go on a second date and see if we really liked each other. “But he could still show that’s he’s scum, you have to be careful, Anna” one part of me seemed to be saying.
“What’s wrong Anna?” asked Isabel
I didn’t feel close enough to the girls tell them about my past love troubles, so I just said, “Nothing, I’m just thinking”
“So how did you meet Lance?” Marcia asked me.
“Well, it all starts with Raelyn. She knows my younger sister, Summer from high school, and after she got the job with the guys…” I trailed off
Raelyn picked up “Summer was telling me about Anna, and the way she is, and since I had successfully matchmaked people before, I figured she would be perfect for Lance, who is single, as y’all know. So they were both up for it and went out”
“How was the date?” asked Christine.
“It was good, one of the better dates I had had in awhile. Actually, I went one not too long ago, and the guy was really a self-centered jerk, so I got so mad about it I threw my soda over his Armani shirt”
All the girls laughed, and Marcia said “I never would have guts to do that”
“Well, I really didn’t think twice about it. And he paid for the meal too, so it was sweet revenge”
“That’s cool” Kat said “Showed him what you thought”
“So, do you think you be around for awhile?” asked Isabel
“I really don’t know for sure” I told them “I’m not even sure I want to date Lance yet, so, we’ll just have to see about it I guess”
The guys arrived form their moive then so I was saved from being grilled even more about it when I didn’t want to answer more questions at them moment.

Back at the house, a couple of the girls left, but Christine and Kat stayed behind. As everyone else was in the house, Lance and I stayed on the back porch.
”So did you have un today?” Lance asked me.
“Yep, I certainly did. Did you?”
He nodded “Yeah. And I think everyone likes you too, Justin said you are one cool chick”
I smiled “I’m glad he does”
“And I agree with him on that. Do you want to go on a second date with me?”
I hesitated for a moment, but then said, “Sure, I would like to, since you like me”
Lance chuckled “You have a weird sense of humor, Anna, but it’s good”
I chuckled as well and then a silence fell over us. Maybe this guy would be dating material… But I still wasn’t sure and wasn’t really ready to decide.
He then reached for my hand. The warmth of his touch felt good, and almost... right. We wrapped our arms around each other, then held each other for a couple minutes. Then, in the starlight night, as we were meaning to do it all along, we leaned in and then our lips met each other.
