Together Again

Summary: Jessica and Nick are married and are at the height of their performance...over the past year they have been having little fights, mainly over that fact that Jessica is jealous of Nick and his co-star. Nick is in the middle of making a movie with a big time sexy actress... seeds of doubt are planted within Jess over the fact that maybe her husband is losing interest in her...and proposes that they take a break.... what will Nick do to make her see that she's all he wants and it's not helping that the actress isn't doing anything to help with the situation...


Nick sat in bed remembering the day that began so happy but ended up causing so much strife in his marriage.
~Flashback~
Nick turned over in bed and looked at the clock
“Who the hell is callin’ at this time?”
The phone continued to ring so he finally made it up and answered.
“Hello”
“Hey Nick it’s Larry I have some great news for you”
“Oh yeah what?”
“Well that audition you went to for the movie with Michelle Phiffer, well you got the part dude”
“Wow dude that’s awesome I never thought I’d get it and wow a movie with Michelle that’s… wow… when do I start?”
“You fly to New York in two weeks….”
“Oh it’s filming in New York… well I’ll get to be close to Drew… and yet across the country from my wife… this should be interesting thanks Lar” and he hung up.
~End of Flashback~

Nick had been in New York for six months and the strain in his marriage had grown each month.
“Okay guys that was great take a 20 minute break…” Nick’s director called to him and his co-star Michelle.
“K thanks”
He got up from his sex scene position and went to his trailer. He immediately picked up his phone.
She answered on the third ring “Hello?”
“Hey baby!”
“Oh hey Nick how’s filming?”
“Oh it’s fine… how about we don’t talk about that… what have you been up to today?”
“Well I did a little writing this morning and then went into the studio and recorded a song a wrote last week.”
“That’s great babe I can’t wait to hear it… I miss you so much its been waaaay to long!”
“Yeah I know but I can’t get up that way right now…”
“I know it’s up to me to you cant always be the one to come see me…”
“Yeah but I like coming up there so I can know what’s going on”
He sighed. “Yeah I know… hopefully I can get out there really soon… cause I miss you Jess” He said in a sly voice.
She laughed at him “Oh I know you do and boy do I miss you too”
He laughed and then there was a knock on his door. “Hold on babe”
“Come in” He yelled.
“Hey there Nick” He could feel Jessica tense up even though she was what he felt as across the world from him. “Oh hey Michelle I’m busy right now with my wife”
“Ohh one of those conversations” She said in a seductive tone.
“Umm that’s none of your business anyways I have her on hold so could you please leave I’ll be out in what ten minutes” and she walked out.
He took a deep breath hoping a fight wouldn’t start.
“Ok I’m back babe sorry about that” He closed his eyes waiting on a response.
“It’s fine look Nick I have to go maybe we will talk later…”
“Maybe?”
“Yeah well I don’t know if I’ll be too busy”
‘[crap] she’s pissed’ He thought. ‘I gotta get out there’
“Okay well I really hope we get to talk I love you”
“Love ya bye”
He hung up. “Ya?” he asked himself.
He went outside and remembered it was Thursday so went to ask his director something.
“Hey do you think after we are don’t tonight I could leave for the weekend? It’s really important!”
He thought for a minute. “Yeah you’ve been doing great you can have the long weekend don’t come back till Tuesday.”
“Oh great thanks man my wife will be thrilled.”
Nick finished up the day and was about to head for the airport.
Michelle ran up to him “Hey Nick where are ya goin’?
“Home to my WIFE!” He yelled to her. He was tired of her causing problems and enjoying it.
“Oh right…” and she walked away.
Six and a half hours later he was pulling up in his driveway.
He ran through the door “Hey baby! Surprise!” Jessica’s jaw drop as did the guy she was sitting with.
Ch. 2 (rated r-ish)

After Nick got over the shock he finally came to his senses. “What the hell is this? It’s certainly not what I wanted to come home to” Jessica stood up as did ‘he’. “Nick calm down.”
“What do you mean calm down!?” She walked over to Nick and put her hand on his chest. “Josh I want you to meet my husband Nick” Then she turned to Nick. “Nick meet Josh one of my new songwriters.” She peered up at him. “Oh…” Nick was embarr[arse]ed and didn’t know what to say. “Well Josh to my surprise I’ll be off for the next few days I would guess so I think its time for you to go, sorry” He nodded and smiled “it’s fine Jess I understand nice to meet you Nick” Nick looked up “yeah you too uhm… yeah sorry about before” “It’s cool” and he walked out. And to Nick’s surprise she jumped in his arms.
“Oh my god Nick! What are you doing here?”
“What are you talking about I’m here to see you!”
He picked her up and spun her around.
“I missed you so much Jess”
He put her down and embraced her into a gentle kiss that soon turned very p[arse]ionate.
“Hey hey let’s save some of that p[arse]ion” he joked.
“What do you mean save it I have had it building up for weeks having to look at your pictures and hear your voice and then not be able to see you and … love you” she said seductively as she started kissing down the side of his ear down his neck. He moaned. “Woh… don’t I know how that goes.” He couldn’t take it anymore. “Ahh forget romance you is all I need” He picked her up and she kissed his *spot* that she knew very well. “If you keep doing that we aren’t going to make it upstairs,” she laughed. “Who said we needed to go upstairs…” She hit the spot once again with her tongue and he had enough” He put her down and kissed her and they backed against the wall. She ripped his shirt off him snapping the buttons off. “Woh… someone’s feisty,” He laughed as she began to kiss his chest. He pulled her towards the couch as he pulled her shirt over her head. She then needed him and all of him. She ripped his pants off pulling his boxers with them ‘yea two points’ she thought to herself. She pushed him down onto the couch and began to kiss down his chest and kept going. He yelped “Oh Jess” she came back up and found his lips. He slipped his hands down and pulled her panties down since she had lost her pants somewhere along the way. He turned over on top of her and slipped inside of her. They both moaned and made love to each other with more p[arse]ion than most times before. Every time they made love since he started his movie had more p[arse]ion since the beginning of their marriage. They hit their climaxes in perfect tune with each other and fell against the couch. He pulled her against him and rubbed her back.
“I don’t know how much longer I can handle being away from you”
“I don’t think either of us realized how hard it would be…” Nick’s cell began ringing.
He didn’t respond to it.
“Are you not going to answer that?”
“No I’m off and with my wife nothing could be more important” She smiled and cuddled against him.
They fell asleep listening to each other breath and in the back of their minds thinking of when he’d have to leave again.

Ch.3

“Jess come on let’s go” Nick yelled up the stairs to her.
“Hey, be nice I don’t get to dress up for you very often” He sighed knowing that this was true.
They walked out to a limo waiting to transport them.
“Where are we going?”
“Dinner and a movie” He lied.
The car stopped and the chauffer opened the door. They were at an airport.
“Nick what? Where are we going?”
“It’s a surprise I get three days with you I want to make them special”
They got on the plane and the chauffer put the bags on it. She laid her head on his shoulder for the whole flight and he looked out the window with excitement. The plane landed and when Jessica got off she hugged Nick “aww Nick Hawaii how sweet!” He smiled, “I’m glad you’re happy”
He escorted her to their next limo and they got in.
“We aren’t going to the hotel yet though.”
“Where are we going?”
“Surprise, Jess!”
She wrapped her arms around him “Fine”.
They pulled up at the dock and Nick opened her door for her.
“Come on” He escorted her towards a boat she recognized.
She read the name of the boat “Aww… Nick you didn’t”
“I did” He took her hand and helped her on the boat. They walked back into the boat to find candles lit and rose petals. He brought her into a hug. “I missed you and when I see you I want it to be special” She hugged him back “You’re the best husband!”
“I wish I was but let’s not worry about that let’s just have a good time” She nodded her head in agreement.
“Okay”
“Come here Jess I wanna show you something” He brought her out to the spot where he proposed on the boat.
“I had been lookin’ for this exact boat and when I found it, I decided to buy it as a memory of when I proposed on it” He took out the papers.
“The boat is ours…”

Ch.4

Jessica was surprised. “Wow Nick that was really sweet of you…” She got up and walked back inside. He was confused, but got up and followed her.
“Jess what’s wrong? I wasn’t expecting that reaction…”
“That’s what’s wrong Nick you bought it to try and make things better between us we’ve been fighting for forever, you have a costar you do sex scenes with everyday who’s in love with you in real life and you get a boat to fix that?”
“I dunno Jessica at least I can say I’m trying!” He yelled back at her.
“Nick I’m not trying to cause a fight I’m being serious why would you buy a boat to fix our problems they are much deeper than a gift.”
“I don’t know Jessica I don’t know what to do anymore you like don’t trust me anymore you use to always trust me but now since Michelle you don’t I don’t understand it”
“Nick what’s to understand she’s all over you all the time just the few times I’ve been on set she’s always around and in your trailer even when you call me on breaks she tends to always be coming to your trailer and huggin’ you what am I supposed to think you must’ve given her some idea that it’s okay to touch you!” she screamed.
“Jessica WHY would I cheat on YOU!” he yelled back.
“Nick guys have needs I’ve realized that like when we broke up before we got married you went out and had sex to fulfill those needs how do I know this isn’t one of those times that you’d get with anybody!” she regretted saying that immediately.
“I’m sorry I didn’t mean that”
His head dropped. “I can’t believe that’s what you think of me”
“It’s not Nick but we can’t keep doing this to each other we are ALWAYS fighting I mean seriously we are rarely with each other but when we are we fight!”
He didn’t respond. “Look Nick I’m sorry I didn’t mean that”
He looked up, “I know but it still hurts I hate this I hate us fighting I’d never cheat on you I don’t want her I don’t want anyone else I can’t help it that I have to be away for this movie I’m sorry okay?!” She sighed.
“ I know Nick but maybe we should take a break especially while you do this movie” his head shot up.

Ch. 5

“What?”
“ I said I think we should take a break…” she looked away from his eyes.
“Wh…why?† He choked out.
“Because Nick, Then you won’t have to worry about what I think and if I’m watching when your doing your movie then when your done with the movie we can talk about it and see where we are…”
“What if I don’t want to?”
“Well Nick that doesn’t matter this isn’t just about you this is about both of us and I have been thinking and I think we’d both be better if we took a break… I’m not say like divorce by any stretch of the imagination I’m not ready to give up on us… I just think we need to not worry about us so much and work on our careers and see where it takes us…”
He sat down in shock as tears formed.
“Well it doesn’t look like I can change your mind.”
“Nick it’s not that it’s we will still talk and visit each other it’s just we can’t complain about what the other does…” Nick looked up disgusted.
“You mean an open relationship?”
“I wouldn’t call it that because I won’t be dating around but if you want to so be it…”
“Jessica… that’s gross I took my vows rather seriously when I said it to you and only you… but if you want a break I’ll give it to you and I’m going to prove to you whatever you need proven… I love you”
“I love you too nick that’s why I think we need this”
“Okay fine you win I guess here” he handed her the hotel room keys.
“You stay and have a great time and relax I’m gunna go home and then head back…”
“You don’t have to do that Nick we can spend this time together”
“No that’s okay I wanna go home and see Daisy a little and talk to Matt then I’m just gunna go back to work have fun out here I’ll call you before I leave or something…” She sighed
“Okay come here though” she said summoning him towards her.
He walked towards her and she wrapped her arms around him.
“I love you Nick” she said in a convincing tone so he would believe her.
“Be safe if this is the last conversation we have I’ll kill myself.” And she kissed him.
“Okay bye…” he left and went out to the limo, got in and cried.

Chapter 6

Nick went home and started packing up his closet. He had left clothes there for when he came home and obviously didn’t need them there anymore so began packing up all his stuff. He wiped his tears as they fell trying to not be sad. He packed all his boxes and went to the post office and mailed them to himself. He looked down at his watch and got back in the car and drove to the airport. He had left a Valentine’s Day card on the counter for Jessica and was ready to get his movie done so he could come back and win her heart again, thinking she no longer loved him. As Nick headed back to New York, Jessica was packing her bag up to head back home. She sighed thinking of how hurt Nick looked, but she knew in her heart it was for the best during the movie. Jessica had been gone for three days so wasn’t ready for what her mom told her.
“Jessica?”
“Yea mom?”
“Is everything okay between you and Nick?”
“Why are you asking?”
“Because on the cover of all the tabloids is you and his relationship with pictures of him crying as he walks into the Hawaii airport just 4 hours after arriving…”
“Oh… well I kinda suggested we take a break but noone was supposed to find out mom this is not good we will just have to deny it all”
“Oh Jess why!?”
“Because mom I cannot take the stress of wondering if he’s cheating on me and we don’t see each other for weeks at a time so I think its best if there are no strings right now so we can see if we really need each other…”
“Jessica that would make sense if you were dating but you are married you don’t just start dating other people when times get rough in a marriage Jess that’s immoral”
“I know mom! I’m certainly not going to date around I don’t want anyone but him but I cannot stress over Michelle or models or anyone else up there that might want him since SO many people want him…” Jessica started crying.
“But Jess you know all he wants is you that’s why he was crying as he went into the airport…”
“I know he loves me mom but what if he takes advantage of the things over there now it will show me that he does have feelings for her its basically like a test mom I just miss him so much but I need to know if he would … ever… you know” Jessica was now bawling.
“Oh Jess I’m coming over so we can talk.”

As Jessica hung up with her mom Nick was hanging up from a similar conversation with his brother.

“Nick what’s the deal with all these mags where I’m seeing you crying as your walking into the airport?”
“Jess decided we are taking a …br… break during the movie”
“Awh dude why what did you do?”
“I didn’t do anything man!” Nick yelled.
“I’m sorry Drew this is just very hard on me right now I think its cause she thinks I’m going to cheat on her with Michelle actually I think she thinks I’m goin to cheat on her with anyone”
“Well why does she think that”
“Cause I mean girls well women have been showing a larger interest in me recently and Michelle has been flaunting the fact that she’s interested and we have sex scenes in front of Jess especially after she found out she was my favorite actress crush thingy…”
“dude you gotta prove to your wife shes the only one for you… she is right? I mean you only want her and wouldn’t ever do that would cause I would be the sh”
Nick cut him off. “Drew! You know I would never do that! I cant believe your even suggesting that…wow I guess I haven’t been showing Jess that shes the only one if even my best friend thinks I would gah I’m just an awful husband…” Nick started crying and hung up.

Ch 7

Nick woke up early after falling asleep crying as Drew called 3 times after Nick hung up on him before giving up. He got up and went into the bathroom. He felt horrible. Nick got into the shower and tried to forget about the past few days. When he got out he heard the phone ringing and answered it figuring it was Drew.
“Hulo?”
“Nick?” Nick choked.
“Jessica?”
“Yea its me I wanted to call and see how you were and tell you to deny any trouble between us to the press…”
“Oh… yeah I’ll make sure to let them know we are fine”
“Okay thanks I just think it’ll be easier for us if we just work this out ourselves so whether things work out or not the press won’t have to be involved and it’ll be better for our careers right now…”
‘Whether they did or didn’t’ he thought, he threw back tears.
“Yeah I completely agree it’ll be easier for me to prove myself without them making up the [crap] they do…” She sighed.
“Nick don’t worry about proving me anything just do what you want during this time so you know exactly what you want…”
“Your what I want I already know that but I don’t want to fight so if you want this time to date around I’m goin’ to give it to you and hope you love me again in the end…” His words pierced her heart ‘he thinks I don’t love him’
“Nick I love you now, always will I just need this time to make sure you know for sure what you want, we’ve been fighting to much lately especially for not even being together to do the fighting its just easier this way if it was no big deal fights that’s one thing but Michelle and everyone else up there is just to much stress and I don’t want my cd to be all jealousy songs people would know something is goin’ on and I don’t want that for either of us do you understand?”
“ I see what your saying and will support you on it like I’m supposed to but I’m not goin’ to let this fall apart Jessica I won’t let this relationship fall apart I love you too much for that”
“Thanks Nick” ‘please please please say it back’ he thought.
‘Should I say it back? Would that make this harder?’ she thought. ‘Yea since he thinks I don’t’ She answered herself.
“I love you too Nick that’s why I think this is best just please trust my judgment on this…”
“Okay Jess”
“Bye”
“Bye” They hung up.
