I'll be the first to tell you I should not be writing a fan fic. However.....I can't resist :D. After a couple of days I've come up with an idea!!! So as you know its a story about Jeff, if you didn't read the small print, lol :P And I'd write more about it but you get to see all that good stuff when I post the first add.

Unfortunaly, I won't add more to this story until the next year, only because I want to start the year off with a fresh brand new story. So hopefully you like what I'm gonna add so you read more next year. :D :) :P

Until Then,

Wish I Had a Friend like You

Prologue
Jeffrey Brandon Timmons always had a good life. Ever since he was little, he had parents that loved him. He had siblings that, despite the fact that annoyed him through his younger years, were always there for him. When he entered college he decided to become a singer. Two years later he was singing at sold out revenues around the world. Pretty soon he was blessed with a baby girl and a couple of years later he was blessed with a baby boy that he could call his own. He had just released his solo CD and felt on top of the world. But unfortunately for Jeff, people didn’t live the perfect life. His good life would soon come to an end.

After the birth of his first daughter, Alyssa, Jeff decided to propose to her mother. There marriage wasn’t exactly what he had dreamed of having. One night, with Trish being spontaneous Trish and Jeff loving that side of her, they eloped in Las Vegas. At the time he thought it was a good time, he would be leaving for the Revelation tour soon, and Trish seemed to like the idea of them just being married. For them, life seemed perfect.

But as time went by, Trish changed. She got tired of waiting on Jeff. She got tired of being the perfect housewife. What woman wouldn’t be tired of taking care of kids and cleaning up around the house twenty four seven? She wanted to live life like she used to. She wanted to go back to being spontaneous loving Trish and not boring dull housewife Trish. But how could she complain when she was the wife of the Jeff Timmons. She wanted Jeff to come home and be the loving husband she knew he was. But as many times as she brought it up, Jeff never came running home to his family. To Trish, it seemed he loved his career more than his family. And that scared her.

Jeff didn’t understand why Trish was acting this way. He knew she supported him, but it seemed like lately she wasn’t around. It seemed like she never wanted to talk to him, and didn’t seemed thrilled like she used to be when he said he was visiting for the weekend. Jeff wanted to talk to someone about it but who…who could help him with his crisis?

Finally, earlier in the year of 2004, Trish went with her instincts and divorced Jeff. This hurt him, badly. Sure he knew things were rocky, but he never thought that it would amount to this. Trish finally told him her feelings and he understood. As loving and devoted as he wanted to be, he wasn’t. As much as he cared for both his wife and kids, he had neglected them and left them in the dark. He already had lost his wife; he didn’t want to lose his kids. But his album was already doing well, and was being released publicly since the debut off of his official website. Jeff was stuck in a runt and didn’t know how to get out of it.

This takes us a couple of miles away, to the icy tops of the Rocky Mountains. There you meet Eva Florez. Eva, who just graduated from college, is coming out of a rocky relationship herself. Her dream is to become a model, but she knows it’s nearly impossible to do in Colorado. She heads up and moves to California.

One day, while she’s looking at furniture she bumps into someone who would forever more changer her life. Lea Lachey is also buying furniture, and while talking on the phone bumps into Eva. Eva, who’s been known to be friendly, immediately apologizes. Pretty soon the girls get close, real close, and become the best of friends.

Now it’s May the 16th. Eva is just turning 24 and Lea along with her husband Drew has decided to throw Eva a birthday party. Nothing too big, just a get together so Eva can make some new friends and have a good time. Who would have known that the party would be the beginning of a course of events……â€Â

Chapter 1
“Eva, get your [arse] down here, now!!” Lea Lachey yelled at the bottom of her friends town home stairs.
“I don’t wanna.” Eva whined from behind her closed bedroom door.
“Eva Florez I’m warning you…” Lea gritted through her teeth. Eva sighed as she walked out of her room.
“What?” she whined, taking a seat at the top of the stairs.
“Why is my husband telling me that you don’t want to come to your own birthday party tonight?”
“That rat.” Eva mumbled, hiding her face in her hands. Lea gave her a look as Eva sighed.
“He is and you know it.” She said, looking up at her.
“Whatever, why don’t you wanna go?”
“Its gonna be with a bunch of people I don’t know.” She whined again. Lea rolled her eyes.
“And today, on your 24th birthday, you decide to become Ms. Anti-Social. I don’t buy it.”
Eva looked up at her and smiled.
“Lea, how do you know me better than my sisters.”
“I don’t know, come on Eva, you gotta come.”
“Lea I wanted to do something with the two of us….maybe even Drew. Not a bunch of you guys friends who don’t even know me.”
“They want to get to know you, whether you believe me or not. And come on, you can’t go on only having me as your friend. I’ll drive you crazy, and then you’ll have no one. See my picture.”
Eva gave her a friend a smile and nodded.
“Fine.” She said.
“Good. Now get off your fat [arse]. Where going to go shopping.”
“Ohh shopping.” She smiled.
“I thought that make you happy.” Lea laughed, walking toward the living room, waiting for her friend to get ready.

“Bahh day go hoda he bada, bada, bada!!” a screaming Jeff Jr. screamed from his seat. Jeff laughed as he attempted to feed his soon, who was having a ball throwing his oatmeal and banana’s everywhere but in his mouth.
“Bahhh day go toana to you to buddy.” Jeff smiled as he finally got a scoop in mouth. The baby played with the food in his mouth for a while, before deciding he didn’t like the taste and spit it out all over the place, including Jeff.
“HABDA!!” the baby screamed excitedly, before playing with the goo that flew on his high chair.
“Yeah, yeah, I figured you didn’t like it by the second scoop.” Jeff sighed, wiping the oatmeal off his face.
“I thought you were feeding the baby, not the other way around.” He heard a voice say. He turned around and saw a smiling Drew, who took a seat beside Jeff.
“I was, but he doesn’t seem to be eating it.” Jeff laughed getting up and already preparing a bottle for his son.
“So you got the kiddies I see.”
“Seeing as I have this two week break, Trish thought it only be right that I spent time with my kids. Speaking of which, where is my little girl.”
“She went into the living room after she opened the door for me.” Drew said, helping Jeff clean up the mess that Jeff Jr. had made. Jeff sighed.
“Alyssa!” he yelled. He heard his daughter run around before reaching the kitchen and say,
“What is it daddy?”
“What did I tell you about opening the door?” he said, tightening the cap on Jeff’s bottle and handing it to him. The baby drank eagerly.
“But….but it was uncle Dew!!”
“What if it was an imposter?”
“An iposte? What’s that.”
Jeff sighed.
“What if it was someone dressed like Drew. Then what?”
“Then I hit him in the fowbidden zone and scream.” Alyssa smiled. Despite the fact that he was bitter with his daughter he couldn’t help but smile.
“Your right honey, but remember what daddy told you. Grown up’s answer the door.”
Alyssa sighed.
“All wight. Can I go back and watch blue?”
“Go ahead honey.” Jeff smiled as he watched her run off.
“Sounds like something Trish would say.” Drew laughed, shaking his head.
“That’s ‘cause Trish taught her.” Jeff exclaimed as Drew laughed again.
“So what’s up?”
“Just wanted to know if your still coming to the party tonight.”
Jeff sighed. He had forgot all about that.
“I don’t know.”
“You don’t know?”
“Can’t find a babysitter and Trish won’t take the kiddos, that’s a given. She’s going on a date and like hell does she want me to ruin it.”
Drew nodded, then said,
“Well bring them.”
“What?”
“Bring them.” Drew said slowly.
“Drew, I can’t. What would that look like?”
“Nothing.”
Jeff sighed again.
“Who is this party for again?”
“A friend of me and Lea’s turned 24 today and we decided to throw a get together. Everyone’s coming but you.”
“I don’t know Drew….”
“Come on. If it makes you feel better, she’s funny, sweet, caring, really nice, friendly, out-going and…”
“Cute?”
Beside the fact that Jeff didn’t want to jump into a relationship he was a bit curious about the girl who was making his friend ramble on about.
“If I wasn’t married I’d ask her out.”
Jeff thought about this.
“I still don’t know….”
“You need to move on. Trish has moved on.”
“Trish already wanted to move on before the divorce was finalized.”
“Exactly. What do you have to loose? Eva just got out of rocky situation herself, so she knows how it is.”
“Eva?”
“That’s her name.”
“Has a nice ring to it.”
“Eva the diva.”
Jeff laughed.
“What?”
“I call her that to annoy the hell out of her. She isn’t a diva but she’s in run to become one.”
“Because.”
“Want’s to be a model.”
“Doesn’t mean she’ll turn out to be one.” Drew shrugged.
“What do you think little man, should I go.” Jeff asked after a while, turning to his son.
Jeff Jr. looked up at him and smiled before exclaiming,
“Dah dogo go bahlda.”
“See, even the little man knows you need love. Besides he wants to get his party on!!” Drew said, doing a funky little move with his arms.
“Drew, shut-up!!!”
“I’m just saying. So are you or not?”
“All right, all right, I’ll go.” Jeff said, thinking about it. He hadn’t been out in a while, and he was a bit curious about this girl.
“Thanks. The party starts at six.”
“Any liquor? I don’t want Alyssa..., you know.”
“Don’t worry about it.” Drew smiled walking out of the house. Then he called Lea and waited for her to pick up.
“So?”
“What, no hello?”
“Hello Drew, so what did he say?”
Drew laughed.
“He’s coming.”
“Great!!! Were going shopping so I should be back around 3.”
“Oh yeah, spend all of my money.”
“Its for a good cause!!!”
“Sure. Lea?”
“Hmmmm.”
“You sure we should be doing this?”
“What? Eva is miserable. Jeff is miserable. Eva likes funny guys, Jeff’s funny. The two are going to hit it off, I’m telling you.”
“All right….but if they find out.”
“I’ll take all the blame.” Lea laughed.
“Good, I don’t think I could go for another beating.”
“I’m sure Andrew, I’m sure.”

Chapter 2
Eva P.O.V

I looked in the mirror and checked my hair again. Whatever in the world possessed me to actually agree to go to this party was beyond me. Deciding that my black dress would have to do for now, I clipped on my watch and threw on my rings. Afterwards, I went downstairs and got my purse and keys. Lea had said that this was a little get together, but boy was she wrong when I pulled up to her house. There were thousands of cars parked outside, with no other but my buddy Lea. I found a place to park not to far from the house and walked over to her.
“What took you so long?” she whined when she spotted me walking up the driveway.
“Well seeing as all the damn people you have parked outside your place, it took me forever to find a parking place.”
“Eva..” she sighed.
“You lied.”
“I did not.”
“You lied Lea Lachey.”
“I twisted the truth.”
“You forced these people to come to a birthday party to a person they don’t know.”
“Well they do what to meet you.”
“Another twisted truth?” I replied sarcastically.
“No…..come on.” She said grabbing my hand. I slowly followed her and was even more surprised at the people that were in the place.
“Lea.” I whined.
“Socialize.”
“No. I wanna leave.”
“You can’t leave your own birthday party. What would I tell the guest?”
Blackmail. This woman really had been around her husband to long.
“Fine, fine, where can I put my stuff.”
“You handle that, you just go off and mingle.” She said, taking my jacket and purse and walking off to another part of the house. I looked around helplessly and started to talk to random people. Lea was right, these people weren’t half bad. I guess I had set my mind to wanting to be alone that I was just annoyed more than mad on coming. After dancing to what seemed like the thousandth song that night, I decided to take a break. I slowly snuck away from the crowd and started to walk toward the kitchen when I spotted a little girl crying in a corner.
'Now what kind of parent brings their kid to a party like this?’ I thought as I walked over to her.
“Hello.” I said, bending down to the little girls’ level.
She remained quiet so I continued to talk to her.
“This sure is a big party for a little girl like you to be in. Where’s your daddy or mommy?”
The little girl sobbed and raised her shoulders.
“I don’t know where daddy went.” She said after a while.
“Did you loose him?”
She nodded.
“Do you know where?”
“He went…he went…he went to change my browders diapers, but I wanted to play with the balloons. I didn’t know he was…gone.” She softly said. I nodded. A guy walking around with a baby, looking for his daughter. Shouldn’t be too hard to find in this crowd.
“Come on, let’s go find him.”
The girl shook her head.
“I’m a good stranger. This is my birthday party.”
“It’s your birthday party?” she asked. I nodded.
“Happy Birthday.”
“I’d be happier if I helped you look for your daddy.”
She nodded and I grabbed her hand. She still seemed uncertain, so I took my birthday crown and put it on top of her head. She started to pull it off when I shook my head.
“Do you know what that is?”
“No.”
“It’s my wishing crown.”
“Wishing crown?”
“Uh huh.”
“What does it do?” she asked curiously.
“When I feel sad I put the crown on my head and wish really, really, hard. Then, my wish comes true.”
“Reeaally?” she asked intrigued.
“Uh huh.”
She placed it on top of her head and closed her eyes.
“Not only that.” I whispered in her ear.
“You got to spin in circles really fast. That really helps.” I said picking her up and twirling her around. She started to laugh and I set her down.
“Did you wish?”
She nodded.
“Well let’s go look for your daddy.” I smiled grabbing her hand once again and we started to look around.
~End of P.O.V.~

Jeff didn’t understand what could have happened to his daughter. He, un-willingly, had went to the party, with Jeff Jr. and Alyssa. Everything had seemed to be going well, when little Jeff had unexpectedly left a little something in his diaper. Something that he knew would take more than five minutes to change. He had turned to the guy on his right and told him to watch his daughter play with Luca and some idle balloons that were lying around the yard. The guy nodded, but when he returned said she had ran off. Like a monkey’s [arse] she had. Even if she did, he could have stopped her. So now he was running around Drew and Lea’s house, in panic, looking for his five year old daughter with his baby son in his hands. He was about to drive himself crazy when he spotted Alyssa running around gleefully. Relaxed, he started to walk toward her but stopped when he spotted a lady chasing her. He started to tense up again, but noticed the interaction between his daughter and this lady. This wasn’t his daughter Alyssa playing with any old stranger. Alyssa was very outgoing, but she didn’t trust easily to someone. Yet with this woman, this woman whom he had never met before, she seemed to be her old happy self. The way she used to be when him and Trish were back together. He took his eyes off of his daughter and moved them toward the stranger who was happily chasing Alyssa. She looked of average height, maybe 5’6 or so. He started to examine her body and smiled, liking very much what he saw. She didn’t seem like most women he met or knew or dated. She wasn’t skinny to the point where he could snap her, but had just the right amount of fat in all the right places. His eyes went up and began to study her face. She had a remarkable smile, one of those smiles you never forget. She had a cute little dimple on her right cheek, and her eyes were the perfect color of hazel. He was so caught in “checking her out” that he didn’t hear his daughter yell out his name running toward her, the mysterious woman not to far behind.

Jeff P.O.V.
“Daddy, daddy!!! Where were you?” Alyssa yelled, running toward me. I smiled down at her as she clung on to my right leg.
“I had to take Jeff. Jr. to the bathroom. I didn’t expect you to run off somewhere.”
“I went looking for you and when I couldn’t find you this nice stranger lady helped me find you.” Alyssa said, running over to this “nice stranger lady”. She smiled at me and I swear I thought I’d lose my breathe.
“Hi. I’m Eva.” She said, extending her hand.
“Hey, I’m Jeff. You’re the birthday girl, right? Where’s your crown.” I smiled at her. Drew was right, this Eva was cute, really cute. She smiled and nodded toward Alyssa who was jumping up and down.
“She gave it to me. She said when she was sad she close her eyes and wish for something to make her happy and it would come true. And she let me do it and I found you so it came true. Its her wishing crown.” She said, emphasizing the wishing.
“Oh really.”
“Uh huh and she’s lots fun. She played tag with me in her pretty dress-up clothes. No grown up ever played with me in there dress-up clothes before daddy.”
“What about me and your uncles?”
“Well….Aunt Lea said you guys were still kids so I really don’t think you count daddy.” She said, smiling. I shook my head as Luca trotted into the room.
“Ohh, Luca!!” she smiled, running off to the big dog.
“She’s really hyper, but super sweet.” Eva said after a moment of awkward silence.
“Yeah, she got that from her old man.”
“Old? You don’t look old. I’m the one that turned 24.”
I laughed as we walked toward the couch. Most people were outside dancing, but there was still a few hanging out in the living room.
“That’s old to you? I loved being 24, it was one of the greatest years of my life.”
“Why’s that.”
“My career was launching off. The guys and I were going to go on our first full fledged tour….I don’t know, it was just the start of a great life.” I smiled, remembering ‘the days’. She smiled.
“You know, being 30 isn’t all bad. I mean your still cute.”
I blushed a bit and looked down at Jeff Jr. So she did know who we were. Here I was thinking that she hadn’t a clue to who me or the guys were. I heard her chuckle then scoot closer to me.
“Think I may?” she asked. I nodded as I handed Jeff to her.
“He’s so cute. He looks like you, you know.”
“Yeah, I get that a lot.”
“I bet.” She said, looking up at me.
“So, meet any new friends.” I asked after a while.
“Yeah, I still feel bad that they got me gifts and don’t really know me.”
“Hey, that’s not bad. I’m sure they got you neutral stuff, like bath and body crap.”
“Yeah, won’t have to go shopping for that for a while.” Then she looked at me.
“So, what in god’s name possessed you to bring two tots to a party like this.” I sighed as we both muttered,
“Andrew.”
I looked at her and she looked at me and laughed.
“So you met the worm too?” I asked.
“Met. The dumb monkey calls me a diva one more time I’m gonna sock him.”
I laughed.
“Now I loved to see that.”

~End of P.O.V.~
For the rest of the night, Jeff and Eva spent time getting to know about each other. They talked about everything, from movies to songs, to both their previous break-ups and what they wanted to do in the future. By the end of the night Jeff had decided that he was flying on cloud nine and Eva was dying and going to heaven. Drew and Lea’s plan had went perfectly, they both connected on a level that they haven’t connected with before in previous relationships. Before Eva left, she had made sure that Alyssa could keep her “Wishing Crown” and that Jeff could easily find both her phone numbers that she placed in baby J’s diaper bag when he wasn’t looking.

Chapter 3
Eva P.O.V.

I tapped my fingers looking down at my phone. Two days it’s been since the party, two, and he still hadn’t called. Did I leave that bad of an expression on him. I rolled of my couch and started to head up to my room for the night, when I heard the phone rang. I immediately ran down the stairs and launched for the phone.
“Hello? Jeff?”
“No, Lea.” I heard Lea laugh. I sighed.
“Lea, that’s not funny. You nearly gave me a heart attack.”
“Why, expecting a call from Jeffie?” she mocked. I narrowed my eyes.
“You know, I figured out your little plan.”
“What?”
“You did this party so I could meet Jeff. You knew that I wouldn’t willingly meet him, so you made up this whole ‘let’s throw you a birthday bash so you can meet new people’ thing so I can meet him. Slick, real slick.”
“All right, all right, I’m busted.” She laughed.
“Whose idea was it. You or the peep squeaks?”
“Sort of both of yours.”
“Sort of?”
“Drew was talking about Jeff and him still being lonely. I kinda told him that you were in the same boat and then he said how good it would be if you guys just coincidentally meet up. That’s when I remembered that your birthday was coming up and alas, the scheme was created.”
“Nice one Lachey. If me and Jeff do hook up, I guess I owe you. But until then your still on my bad side.”
“He hasn’t called you? He’s been trying to get your number from Drew these past few days.”
“What?! I slipped it in Baby J’s diaper bag. How could that be?”
Lea sighed.
“What?”
“The only time Jeff goes in there is when he actually needs something. I doubt he’s needed something for the past two days.”
I groaned.
“I knew I should’ve slipped it in his pocket. Something told me……I didn’t want to come off to forward though.”
“Its all right. I’ll hint it off to him later on tonight. Until then relax. Jeff seems really into you so don’t worry.”
I could help but smile.
“You think?”
“I know.”
“Well, all right, I’m going to go and hit the sack.”
“All right, talk to you later. And remember, relax.”
“Bye Lea.” I laughed, hanging up the phone. I was going upstairs and fall into a much needed sleep when the phone rang again. Deciding it was better to just answer the phone now, I slowly walked back over it.
“Hello?”
“Yeah, uh, Eva?”
I smiled.
End of P.O.V.

Jeff P.O.V.

I thought in silence as I drove toward Trish’s house with the kids. Alyssa was quietly playing with her Barbie’s and Jeff was fast asleep. I smiled thinking about my children, but it quickly disappeared. Eva had been on my mind for the past two days. And for those past two day’s Drew has given me nothing but grief. He wouldn’t give me her phone number, and ironically, Lea is always gone so I can’t ask her for it. I pulled up to Trish’s house and slowly got Jeff out of his car seat. Alyssa was already at the door when I was walking up the door steps.
“Hey baby!” Trish beamed, bending down and hugging her. She looked up at me and smiled.
“Hey Jeff.”
“Hey. They ate dinner so you don’t have to worry about that. Jeff, I think, needs a diaper change.”
“Oh and he’s daddy couldn’t do it?”
“He used the bathroom on the way over here. He was dry when we left.”
“Right.” She said, rolling her eyes as I walked in.
“Mind if I take this.” She said, picking up the diaper bag and walking upstairs to Jeff’s room. I nodded and started to look around the place. It had changed a lot since I was here. She had taken down all the pictures of me and her and replaced them with shots of the kids or her family. If I was stranger, I wouldn’t have suspected that she used to be married, or even had kids. A couple of minutes later she walked down the stairs with no Jeff.
“Where’s Jeff?”
“He went to sleep while I was changing his diaper.”
“Oh.”
“Alyssa sweetie, do you think that you can go in your room and unpack.”
“All right mommie.” She beamed, running upstairs to her room. Trish watched her and turned around and looked at me.
“Jeff, I don’t mind you dating again, but don’t involve our kids. Especially because it seems really early in the relationship.”
“What?”
“I found this in Jeff’s diaper bag.” She said, digging in her pocket and handing me a folded piece of paper. I opened it up and read,

Eva’s Phone Number
728.569.8745
Cell Phone
541.957.8462
Call me soon!

I smiled. So she did give me her phone number.
“Sorry Trish. A couple of days ago me and the little ones went to a birthday party that Drew and Lea were throwing for one of their friends and I happened to get closer to her. I guess she must’ve slipped it in J’s bag before I left.”
Trish rolled her eyes at me.
“Figures.”
“Well, I’m gonna go. Same time next week.”
“Right.” She smiled as I walked out of the house. I got into my truck and debated whether I should call Eva. I mean, I really wanted to call her but it was late. I stopped at a red light and took out my cell phone. If she didn’t pick, it didn’t mean that she was mad at me, just that she was sleep. I would be able to accept that. I dialed and waited for her to pick up. After the second ring I heard.
“Hello?”
“Yeah, uh, Eva?”
“Yep.”
“This is…uhh, Jeff.”
“Hey Jeff. I’ve been waiting for your call.”
“Yeah, uh, about that…”
“I knew I should’ve slipped it in your pocket. Lea told me you barely clean out your diaper bag.”
I laughed and relaxed. So she wasn’t mad at me.
“No, its good you put it in the diaper bag. I would of least gotten around to it. If you had put in my pocket, it would’ve been destroyed the minute I put in the washer.”
She laughed.
“Well anyways, I’m still glad you called.”
My smile grew wider as the light changed colors.
“me too.”
“So…whatâ€⠄¢s up?”
“Nothing much. Just dropped off the tot’s at their mom’s. The same woman who found your number.”
She laughed again and said,
“That’s horrible Jeff.”
“I would’ve found it eventually. Its just that I’m not so keen in cleaning up.”
“So I’ve heard.”
I smiled again as I got on the freeway.
“So what are you doing tomorrow?” I asked out of the blue.
“Hmmmm, nothing. Probably going to be a bum on my last free day.”
“Last free day?”
“Yeah, finally found a job. Not exactly the kind of job I want but a job nonetheless.”
“Hey I know how you feel. So I guess that doesn’t mean you wouldn’t mind spending time with me, now would you?”
There was silence and I impatiently waited for an answer.
“Well I could say yes seeing as I like you but…”
I smiled.
“But?”
“you didn’t call me for two days so no.”
I was shocked.
“Eva, it wasn’t my fault.” I whined. She laughed.
“I’m just kidding Jeff. I’d love to go out with you tomorrow.” I smiled again, relaxed.
“all right, what time?”
“If I’m not dead to the world…eleven thirty.”
“All right….where do you live?”
She gave me her address and I laughed.
“Wait I just realized I’m driving. So whatever you told me I’m gonna forget by the time I get home. Hold on.”
“Smart kid.” She laughed. I pulled over and rummaged through the p[arse]engers seat. Pretty soon I found some paper and a pen, then said,
“All right, what was it?”
“Jeff, your driving.”
“I pulled over.”
“Dork.” She laughed, but repeated her address again.
“Think you can find it?”
“I think I won’t have any troubles. And if I do, I could always call you.”
“All right flirty boy, I’ll talk to you later.”
“All righty, can’t wait to see you then.”
“Bye.”
“Bye.” I said, hanging up the phone. I turned on my engine and started to drive home once again, thinking off all the things me and Eva could do tomorrow.
End of P.O.V.

Jeff and Eva didn’t realize it, but tomorrow would mark the beginning of a series of events, that would furthermore change their lives. Eva’s dreams could possibly be coming true, and Jeff would possibly end up with that perfect life, once again.

Chapter 4
Eva P.O.V.

I rolled over in bed not really wanting to get up. I looked at the clock which read 9:30…why was I getting up at 9:30 again? I was lost. I dragged myself to the kitchen where the phone was going off. Who would be calling so early in the morning?
“Hello?” I mumbled.
“Heard you got a date.” I smiled. Now that was the reason why I was getting up. It was also the reason why I didn’t go to sleep until earlier this morning.
“Yeah, I got a date.” I beamed. Lea laughed.
“Well, aren’t you the lucky one. I told you he’d call.”
“Yeah, I didn’t think it be right after you call though.”
“He found your number?”
“Obviously.”
Lea laughed and said,
“I mean, he actually found it without any [arse]istance from anyone else.”
“Ummm, he’s ex-wife found it actually.”
“Ohh.”
“Yeah, but I’m gonna go and get ready. Wish me luck.”
“Luck and remember, call me later.”
“Will do, bye.”
I went through my normal morning routine. I was doing my hair when I heard my doorbell go off. Looking at myself one more time, I ran downstairs and opened the door.
“Hey Jeff.” I smiled, opening the door and letting him in.
“Hey, you look great.”
“You should be saying the same to yourself.”
“Naw.” He smiled, walking toward her living room. I shut the door and turned around and looked at him. The thing was, he did. He wore a white button up shirt that exposed a bit of his chest. He wore denim jeans that were doing wonders for his butt….yep, that man was defiantly looking delicious.
“Eva.”
“Huh?” I asked, snapping out of my thoughts.
“I was asking where do you want me to put these flowers.”
“Ooo, flowers!” I smiled and grabbed the pink tulips that were in his hands.
“I love tulips…they’re really pretty.”
“Yeah, I think so too.” He smiled as I put them in a vase. When I was done I grabbed my purse and turned to him.
“You ready?”
“Can’t be any readier.”
“All right.” I smiled. We both walked out of my house toward his truck.
“So where are we going today?” I asked, buckling up.
“Well….its sort of a surprise.”
“A surprise!” I whined. I hated surprises.
“Yeah, will you live until we their?”
“I think…I hope. As long as it’s not far away….yeah.”
“All right.” He smiled at me, then returned his eyes to the road. For the rest of the ride I tried to concentrate on the p[arse]ing cars but I couldn’t. Jeff had gotten me curious and I hated that feeling. Finally, we came to a stop and I looked around.
“I’m lost.” I finally said. He smiled and took my hand.
“Are you hungry?”
“Yes.”
“Are you a romantic?”
“Yes.” I didn’t see where this was going.
“Do you think it'll be all right then if we ate lunch on the beach. Normally I’d plan this to be at sunset, but I really didn’t want to wait that long….” He started to drift and looked down. I smiled and nodded.
“I’m game, only if you didn’t cook.”
He gave me a sad look and I laughed.
“Sorry, Lea’s told me about you guy’s cooking and I don’t want to deal with nasty food on an empty stomach.”
He smiled and laughed.
“I understand. No, actually KFC is a lovely vender for the moment, if you don’t mind.”
“KFC is good to me.”
“All right.” He said, stepping out the car. I followed suite and pretty soon we were walking down to the beach.
“You did bring a cover…didn’t you?” I asked, looking over at him. He made this cute little face and furrowed his eyebrows together.
“You did bring one?” I repeated. He sighed.
“I was so caught in seeing you this morning I forgot.” He replied. I laughed but quickly simmered.
“Its all right Jeff, we can chill in the sand…I guess.” I said, taking a seat on the cold sand. He looked around then sat down.
“Don’t they have picnic tables?”
“Way up on the boardwalk but I like it by the water. I don’t mind, really.”
He nodded and soon we started to eat. It wasn’t all that great seeing as my butt was starting to hurt and there were a couple of times I dropped some sort of food in the sand but it didn’t matter to me. Jeff was great company, he knew how to make me laugh, and I didn’t feel pressured being someone else but myself. Even with the circumstances, the date was already starting to look up.
End of P.O. V.

Jeff P.O.V.

Despite the fact that I had goofed up, everything seemed to be running smoothly. Eva was even better to talk to when there wasn’t anyone around. She knew how to be herself around me and I respected that; nowadays many girls would play the phony act just to get closer to me. I had just made Eva laugh with a little joke Drew had told a long time ago when I tried to get some more chicken. I missed it and it tipped over.
“Aww crud!” I sighed, looking at the greasy mess. There was sand and chicken everywhere. Eva looked over and smiled at me.
“This just isn’t you day, is it?” she asked, looking down at the mess, then back at me.
“More like an annoying nightmare. This always happens every frickin’ time I want to go out and have a good time.”
She smiled and shook her head.
“Jeff it’s all right. I’m not hungry anymore.”
“But I really wanted to...”
“Forget about it Jeff. Lets clean it up and forget it ever happened.”
I nodded and cleaned up the mess, still mad that this date wasn’t turning out the way I wanted it to. That’s when I realized something. I looked over at Eva and smiled.
“What?”
“Follow me.” I started to get up when Eva said,
“We can’t leave this mess.”
“Your right.” I turned around and picked up the trash and walked over to a nearby trashcan. Eva was finishing tying her shoes when I grabbed her hand and started to run in the opposite direction from the entrance.
“Jeff….wait, slow down…where are we going?”
“You’ll see..”
“Jeff…..I†„¢m tired of surprises.”
I didn’t listen to her and finally we reached our destination.
“Ohhh, a carnival.” She smiled, looking around. I smiled at her out of breathe and said,
“I thought it be fun.”
“I never been to a carnival.”
“ Its fun, really. Me and Alyssa go to them all the time.”
She nodded as we walked over to our first ride. For the rest of the day we spent time riding rides. I even rode some I wouldn’t usually ride, just because Eva wanted to. By sunset there was only ride left, the Ferris wheel. I looked over at Eva who bite her bottom lip.
“Umm…how about we play some games that you wanted too.”
“Naw, we got to ride the Ferris wheel. Its sort of tradition for me too.”
“I….guess†¦.” she sighed as we waited in line. Finally our turn came and Eva was sort of leery getting on. She clung on to me as we started to ascend to the top.
“What’s wrong?” I asked, turning toward her. She had been tense every sense we got in line.
“Ummm…its nothing.”
“You sure.”
“Yeah.” She looked over to the side and clung on to me again. I knew something was wrong.
“Just tell me what it is, I’m sure I’ll understand.”
“I’m scared to ride Ferris wheel’s.” She mumbled, hiding her face in my shoulder. I smiled at her.
“That’s all?”
“Yeah.” She still hid her face.
“There not all that bad.”
“That’s not until you start rocking it and almost fall out.”
“That happen to you?”
“Yeah…I was little. My brother rocked and I slid toward the little door. My foot was half way out when my dad yanked me in. I still get the ba-jibbies getting on these things.”
I felt horrible. I didn’t want her to feel pressured getting on.
“You didn’t have to get on.”
“You wanted too, and you went on rides you hated to. It was the least I could do.”
“I didn’t almost die on those rides, I just didn’t like them.”
“Its fine….just don’t let me go. And don’t shake our chair.”
I smiled. That was something I could do. For the rest of the ride Eva clung on to me and we talked…not really normal conversations but we talked nonetheless. After that I won her a teddy bear and she upstaged me at the basketball game and won me a little dog. The day had gone by so fast that I was sad when we were standing outside her door. She was fiddling with her little bear and I was whistling up at the sky.
“Well…thanks again.” she smiled at me after a while.
“Hey it was nothing. I wouldn’t mind doing it again.”
“Are you asking for another date?” she asked, raising a brow. I blushed and looked down.
“Well….maybe.â⠬ I said after a while. She laughed and grabbed my hand.
“I’d love to spend some more time with ya. Call me tomorrow?”
“Plan on it.”
“All right. Well…good night.” She said, kissing me on the cheek and starting to un-lock her door. I wasn’t happy with that so I grabbed her arm and brought her to me. She looked at me confused as I bent down and kissed her. And damn, she was one hell of a kisser. When we finally pulled away she whispered up to me,
“I…and… ..wow…..good night.” And slowly walked into her house. I smiled happy with her reply, and started to walk toward my car.

End of P.O.V.

After that night both Jeff and Eva knew that this time they hadn’t messed up. This wasn’t going to be some sort of fling that would end after a couple of months. They possibly had found someone they both wanted to have a future with, and they both didn’t want to let that go.

Chapter 5
Eva P.O.V.

I smiled as I walked into my new job. Yeah, it was being a secretary for a small record company, but it was a job nonetheless. It had decent pay….I made enough money to pay the rent and go off and splurge on other things so I wasn’t at a total loss. I found my desk and sat my things down. After I made it to my “liking”, I started to fiddle around. My boss didn’t give me anything to type up, and no one hadn’t called. I was starting to browse on-line when my boss’s door opened and he walked outside.
“Eva Florez?”
“Yes.” I said, shutting the window and standing up immediately.
“I need you to type these artists into the data base. When you’re done, you can either get Trisha to file them or yourself.” He said, stacking a large pile of files on top of my desk.
“Okay sir.” I sighed, sitting down and already opening up a file. For the rest of the morning, I spent time typing in files. Lunch time came around and Trisha, the other secretary, had forced me to go out to lunch. I walked toward a little café and was just biting into my burger when my cell phone rang. I bit into the burger, and then answered my phone.
“mhhello.”
“Uhh…yeah†¦.uhh, Eva.”
“Hmmm, wham jusm a secome.” I said into the phone. I swallowed what was in my mouth and then said,
“Sorry…is this Jeff?”
“Yeah….Eva, why did you sound like my one year old son?”
I laughed.
“I was eating my lunch thank you very much.”
“Oh, I can call you back…”
“It’s fine. So, what do you want?”
“Just wanted to see how you were doing?”
“Hmmmm, I’m fine. Especially after last night.”
“Oh really?”
“Uh huh.”
“Well in that case, you wouldn’t mind me coming by and seeing you tonight. It’s my last night I’m without the kiddos, and tomorrow I’m shooting a video so I won’t be seeing you for a while.”
I frowned hearing that but nodded.
“Sounds good to me.”
“So see you around…sixish?”
“It’s a date.” I smiled.
“All right, see you later.”
“Bye.” I smiled, hanging up the phone. My lunch break unfortunately came to an end, and I was back to work at the office. I was starting on the artist with the last name that started with an “M” when my boss had decided to come back to the office, with a couple of clients. I thought nothing of it and started typing up the first persons needed information when I heard a familiar voice say,
“Eva, is that you?”

Jeff P.O.V.
It had been a long day. I had to get up early, earlier than usual, and make a couple of finishing touches on the tour dates. Then I had a parent/teacher conference with Alyssa’s teacher, then more tour dates and information on the meeting and now, well now I was following Jared toward his office to see how sales were doing. The most relief I got out of the day were talking to Eva….which lasted what? Five minutes. We were just by his office when I happened to glance over at the secretary. She looked so familiar…and that’s when it hit me. She looked like Eva…a lot. Jared and Mike were already in the office so I had decided to speak up.
“Eva, is that you?”
The girl looked up at me and smiled. I frowned. It wasn’t her. Boy, did I feel stupid.
“I’m sorry about that?” I muttered, walking into the office.
“Where were you?” Mike asked as I took a seat beside him.
“Thought I saw someone I knew.”
“Did you?”
“Nope.”
He nodded as Jared looked up from his sheets.
“You wanna hear this or not?”
“We were listening; you were the one stuck in your little dream world.”
He rolled his eyes and looked back down at the papers in his hands.
“Your sales are going up. From the looks, you could be going gold in a week or two.”
“That’s it?” Mike asked, leaning up in his chair. Jared nodded and closed his folder.
“That’s good considering he’s a solo artist who’s not incorporated with a major label. If he keeps this up, in a couple of months he could go Platinum.”
“Think the tour could help with that.”
“Jeff’s already got a strong fan base. My guess’s are that yeah….it could happen.”
“Sounds good to me. I don’t care how my sales are doing, I just want to know that at least someone out there is buying my music.” I said, sitting back in my chair.
“People are. It just takes time. By the way, when are you shooting your video?”
“Tomorrow.”
“Hmmm, where at.”
“Somewhere along Huntington Beach.”
“Pretty nice, secluded beach.”
“That’s what we were thinking.” Mike said. We stayed at Jared’s a little longer and then parted ways. I had promised Eva I’d be at her house in 30 minutes and unfortunately it would be a 30 min. drive from where I was to her. When I finally did get there, with flowers in hand of course, it was turning seven and the sun was just setting. I rang the doorbell and a couple of seconds later I heard her running toward the door.
“Hey Jeff.” She smiled at me.
“Hey babe.” I smiled back, handing her the flowers. Her smile got even bigger and I couldn’t help but feel like the man on top. Not to mention that she looked really good in her light pink sweats. She took them gladly and looked up at me.
“When did I become your ‘babe’?†
“Since last night.”
“Oh really?” she asked, raising a brow.
“Really.” I winked at her. She blushed and turned toward the kitchen. I sort of stood there not knowing what do until I heard a familiar voice say,
“I told you that he would buy you flowers.”
“Okay, so I owe you.”
A little curious I walked to the kitchen where I saw Eva putting flowers in a vase. Lea was standing near the stove, stirring something that seemed to be cooking on the stove top. I had the urge to just stand there waiting to see how long it would be for them to see when I was there, but decided otherwise. I didn’t need to go off and give Lea a reason to get mad at me. I walked toward Eva and wrapped my arms around. I felt her relax as I asked,
“So what are we having for dinner?”
She held me and replied,
“Spaghetti. It’s easy to make and I have plenty of it.”
“Sounds good to me.”
“Anything sounds good to you.”
“Hey, I’m not a big fan on some foods.”
“Name one.”
“Uhh…well†¦you see I’m hungry right now so everything sounds good to me.”
“I knew it. Men.”
“Still gotta love me.”
“I’m not so sure on…”
“Well you guys shut-up already.” Lea said, turning around and looking at the two of us. We both turned our heads and looked at her.
“What?” we said at the same time. We looked at each other and laughed. It felt natural, laughing with Eva like that. It was a feeling I haven’t felt for a long time; with her I felt at ease.
“I guess….I’m going home where I’ll start on my own dinner.”
“Watcha gonna make?” Eva asked in this cute baby voice.
“Hmmm, I think me wants some s’gatti now.”
“Copycat!”
“More!”
“I guess……always stealing my minutes of fame.”
“More like minutes of shame. Its just food.”
“Its over with.” Eva said, sticking her hand up. Lea laughed and rolled her eyes.
“I’m gone girl. I talk to you later.”
“Adios.” Eva waved off. Then she looked up at me.
“now what do we do.”
“Normally I’d make out with you until dinner was over…”
“See hon, we’ve only been going out for…..not even 24 hours. That’s just a tad too fast for me.” she cut me off.
“I know. I understand. We can take it slow.”
“Not to slow, but slow. Yep I…Aww shizer!” she said, walking over to the stove and turning it down. She grabbed a towel and started to clean up the mess the spaghetti sauce left.
“only when I cook with you two around does this happen.”
“See….but that’s just some of the good things that will keep the both of us together.”
“Right.” Eva laughed, shaking her head.

The rest of the night went smoothly. They ate dinner, played a few games, and talked some more to get better acquainted. By the end of the night each was falling deeper for the other. Love seemed a bit early, but they knew. They knew what the other meant to them, and that meant the world to them. No matter what, they were going to fight to keep their relationship going, no matter what.

Chapter 6
Eva P.O.V.

The next morning when I walked into work, I was in heaven.
“What’s got you so giddy this morning?” Trisha asked, noticing my good mood. I smiled.
“My baby came over last night.”
“You have a kid?” she asked confused and a bit surprised. I laughed and quickly shook my head.
“No, no….umm, I meant my boyfriend came over, if I can give you any clarification.”
She sighed and smiled.
“Oh…I thought, yeah. Well its glad to see that someone can give you a happy face. Yesterday you wouldn’t peep a smile so its good to know that you have your happy days.”
“Yeah….Jeff does that to me.”
“I’m seeing.” She laughed, turning around in her seat and logging on to her computer. I turned and did the same, but frowned seeing as it wouldn’t let me in.
“What happened now?”
“Its not letting me in my computer.”
“Talk to Jared about it.”
“I might as well.” I said, scooting out of my seat and walking into his office. There Jared was talking on his phone in what didn’t seem like a really happy mood.
“What do you mean you can’t find the actress for the video!!! He was planning on that. No I can’t just go out and…” he looked up at me and smiled.
“Scratch that, I found your girl. We should be down there in fifteen minutes.” He hung up the phone and got up from his seat.
“Jared my computer wouldn’t let me in and Jared…where are we going?” I said as he grabbed a hold of my arm.
“How would you like to do some acting today?”
“Acting? I don’t know how to act. I’m a model.”
“Well….whether you know how or not your still doing this gig for me. I’m desperate and you’re the only pretty face I know within 2 miles.”
“Great…you make me sound like fresh meat.”
He ignored my comment and rushed me into his car. Within a couple of minutes, we were at our next destination...a beach.
“Why am I doing this. What am I doing?”
“Listen, the girl for this video dropped at the last second. I need to know if you can replace her.”
“Now you ask.” I replied sarcastically, then sighed,
“Fine….Iâ€⠄¢ll do it.”
“Thank you! Now wardrobe is this way…Rainelle will do make-up and Jeremy will do your hair.” He said, pushing me into a trailer.
“What did I sign myself into.” I groaned.
End of P.O.V.

Jeff P.O.V.

“This is the deal Jeff. The whole scenario is you walking down the beach, talking about your love. That’s when whoever the fill in girl is will tap your shoulder and you’ll turn around. You’ll both smile and then that’s your cue to lean down and kiss her. After that we’ll go over so more of the singing head shots…then some more scenes with you and the girl. Got it?” I nodded at the director and sighed. I really didn’t want to be here this morning. My thoughts kept on drifting back to last night. Last night was…it was one of the best nights that I had in a long time. But unfortunately it came to a fast end because I had to leave early for this stupid video. Maybe I was a little snappy from not getting enough sleep, but I sure as hell didn’t want to be here. I walked over to a rock and sat down, awaiting for this “fill-in” girl to come so I could meet her and get it over with. I was halfway in dozing off when I heard a voice say,
“Jeff, I want you to meet your fill-in.” I looked up from the sand and into two familiar eyes.
“Hey Jeff…I didn’t know you were shooting your video today.” I smiled at Eva and nodded.
“Well I didn’t know that you were going to be in my video.” She shrugged.
“Small world and someone over here made me do it.” She said, nudging Jared. He shrugged and sighed.
“Well, you needed a girl. I got a girl.”
I smiled.
“Well you got a good one….a good one indeed.” I smiled, winking at her. She blushed and looked away.
“All right everyone. Places. Were going to go over scene one.”
“That’s your cue to follow me.” I said, taking her hand. She followed me and we walked toward the director.
“You guys do know what to do again, right?” Kevin asked, looking at the two of us.
“Yeah…I was just informed in the dressing room.”
“And once again Kevin you told me five minutes ago.”
“All right. Now get to your places. I want to get this done in one day.”
“You aren’t the only one.” I mumbled, walking over to the large boulder.
“All right and………à ¢â‚¬Â¦ACTION!!”
There was silence until the chorus to Whisper That Way kicked in. I waited for a while, until I felt Eva softly put her hand on my shoulder. I turned around and smiled at down at her, before slowing leaning down and kissing her.
“And…… ¢â‚¬Â¦CUT! Beautiful people let’s move on to the…Jeff…Evaâ₠¦â€¦JEFF!!!!”
I heard the director yell out my name, but I couldn’t get myself to stop. Once her lips found mine I couldn’t find it in me to make myself stop. I felt her pull away but that gave me all the reason to make me kiss her even more. Once we finally did pull away, I found everyone looking at us.
“Hey guys…” I smiled at everyone.

When Jeff finally did pull away, I turned the other way embarr[arse]ed. I could tell Jeff was smiling, knew Jeff was smiling a couple of seconds later when I heard everyone (at least every male in the vicinity) hollering.
“All right, all right guys. Lets get ready for the next scene.” The director smiled, shaking his head. I walked toward my trailer, embarr[arse]ed to be around anyone. I was attempting to fix my hair up a bit when I heard someone walk in.
“Jared I really don’t want to…”
“Babe, it’s not Jared.”
I turned around and saw Jeff and really blushed. I never really had a public display like that so I was pretty disturbed. He walked toward me and I slowly tried to walk the other way. He sighed.
“Listen, I’m sorry for what I did but I didn’t mean too……”
“No, no, just go away.”
“All right, I guess I deserve that.” He sighed again, taking a seat on my couch. I fumbled with my fingers then walked toward him.
“Sorry…I just never really displayed my love and affection like that before. My boyfriend never really liked that stuff so I’m just not use to it I guess…” I sort of drifted off.
“I’m the one who should be sorry. I [arse]umed that you wouldn’t mind and all don’t worry about me doing it again…” he drifted off too. I shook my head.
“I don’t mind it, its just I’m not used to it and yeah, was sort of embarr[arse]ed out there.”
“Don’t worry about it. I’m sure they’ll get over it next scene.”
“Oh…okay.†
“So you all good?”
“I’m better.” I shrugged. He got up and tackled me to the floor, growling in my ear,
“You better be better. I was planning on taking you out to dinner tonight.”
“With the kiddies, right?”
“Right.” Jeff winked at me.
“Well you better go and finish your video or you’re never going to go and take any of us out to dinner.”

Pretty soon Jeff finished with the shoot and we were now eating with Alyssa and Little J. It was going to be a very interesting evening, and to think I thought that Jeff was a lot to handle. He’s kids were even bigger to handle. We all had just got seated at The Olive Garden when Alyssa, still wearing the crown I bestowed on her, decided to tell us how her day went.
“Daddy.” She said, tugging on her dads arm.
“Yeah sweetie.”
“You didn’t ask me what I leawned today in school like you norwmally do.”
“I’m sorry sweetie. What did you learn in school today?”
“How to mix the colors.”
“The colors?”
“Uh huh.”
I decided to jump into the conversation so I asked.
“What kind of colors?”
“Like red and gween make blue. Owange and yellow make red. Blue and yellow make gween.”
“That’s cool. Do you know how to make purple?”
“Nuh uh. The teacher didn’t teach us that yet.”
“Well, I’ll show you later that way you can impress her tomorrow.”
“All Wight!!” Alyssa giggled as she jumped up and down in her seat. I looked over at Jeff who was smiling at me.
“What?” I asked.
“You. You’re just so cute.”
“Shut-up.” I said, hiding myself in my menu. I saw him shake his head before looking down at the menu. There was silence until once again Alyssa spoke up.
“Hey Eva.”
“Huh sweets.”
“Do you like my daddie?”
I gave Jeff a smile and nodded.
“Yeah. I like your daddy. A lot.”
“Weally?”
“Really.”
“Would you marry him?”
“Hopefully someday.”
“Oh. Ok!” she said, looking back down at her kids menu and coloring. I shook my head as I looked at Jeff.
“What?” he mouthed.
“That’s low.” I mouthed back.
“She came up with that with out me this time.”
“Whatever.” I laughed, looking back down at the menu. We ordered our food and to p[arse] time I decided to play with Little Jeff while Jeff and Alyssa were talking about some of the other things she did at school. I had decided to play peek-a-boo with Baby J seeing as he seemed to like it when he put his hand out and grabbed my boob.
“Jeff!” I screamed covering myself up as he started to laugh. I turned red as Jeff and Alyssa looked over at me.
“What happened?” he asked after a while.
“He grabbed my boob.” I mumbled. Alyssa gasped as Jeff started to laugh.
“He learned it from his old man.”
“Shut-up.” I said, kicking him in the shin underneath the table.
“Oww.” He muttered, rubbing his ankle. That’s when Alyssa decided to ask,
“Eva?”
“Yes.”
“You like my daddie a lot, right”
“Right.”
“So will you do that thing in the bed like him and mommy used to do with him?”
Both me and Jeff diverted our attention to her.
“What?” we both asked startled.
“Will you do that thingy in the bed with daddie?”
“What thingy?” I asked, a little bit curious. Alyssa sighed as if she was frustrated.
“One night I had a nightmawre and went to mommy and daddie’s room and I seen them in the bed without any clothes doing that thing. I didn’t mess with them because they said that they didn’t want to be int…int… not messed with when they were busy so I left them alone. So if you like daddie then you’ll do that naked thingy with him, right?”
Jeff choked on his spit and I started to chuckle.
“Honey, me and your daddy won’t be doing that for a while.”
“Why not?”
“Uhh…..â€⠢Cause were going to wait ‘till were married.”
“Ohhhhhhhh.”
“Alyssa, no more questions.” Jeff said, drinking down his cup of water. I started to laugh as our food arrived.
End of P.O.V.

For the rest of the night, most of the conversation was kept at “safe” things. Eva realized that Jeff’s kids were just as kooky as their dad was, and she loved that from them. Jeff realized that his sheltered daughter wasn’t so sheltered and made a mental note not to have sex with anyone ever again with his kids in the house.

Chapter 7
Jeff P.O.V.

Me and Eva had been dating for nearly a month and for our one month anniversary I had decided to go out and do something for her. I was sort of scared because afterwards I would have to be leaving for tour and I really didn’t want to do that. Last time I left I came back signing divorce papers. So, on my day off, I got up early and picked Alyssa up. Then I dropped her off at daycare-later on Trish would be picking her up-and made the short drive to my sweeties job. I knew that she would be stressed out because June was usually the time when new artist arrived in the scene, and I knew Jared was a pusher. That combination together could only lead to one thing, and whatever it was wasn’t good. I walked into the office and waved at people I knew when I spotted her typing away at the computer. Ten o’clock and Jared had already pushed her buttons. I leaned forward on her computer and smiled.
“So what are you doing this morning?” I asked. She looked up at me, smirked and continued on with her typing while she said,
“I wasn’t aware of any surprise meetings Jeffrey.”
She was either mad or annoyed; she usually didn’t call me Jeffrey unless something around her went wrong.
“Well since I forget to call you this morning I thought it be better to drop by.”
She rolled her eyes but I could tell she was smiling inside.
“It wouldn’t have mattered. I had to come in early today so I would have missed your call anyways.”
I gave her a sad pout as I walked around toward her seat.
“I’m sorry. You want me to talk to Jared.”
She quickly shook her head.
“Don’t give him yet another reason to yell at me.”
“That bad?”
“The man has been driving me mad! Call this, type this, file this, give me my coffee, gosh, every since Trish left for maternity leave his been on my case. I just want him to leave me alone.” She snapped, practically pounding down on her keyboard. She closed her eyes, counted to ten, then continued to do what she was doing. I felt bad, I knew how Jared could get and frankly it annoyed the hell out of me. I don’t see how Eva barely manages every day.
“I’m sorry babe. I know how to make it all better.”
“How?” she asked, not taking her eyes away from the computer screen.
“You gotta look at me to know.”
“Jeff you know I-“ I wouldn’t let her finish her sentence as I pulled her in for a long kiss. She kissed back just as eagerly before someone interrupted us.
“Eva, I need more coffee. Stop la-le gagging and get back to work.”
Eva immediately pulled away and looked toward Jared.
“Now!” he said. She gave a sarcastic smile, practically grabbed his mug, and walked off toward another section of the office. I shook my head.
“Back down Jared, you’re already giving her a rough time.”
Jared looked at me and sighed.
“Jeff, while you can go off and be a star, there are files that need to be filed. Appointments need to be booked, and budgets need to be balanced. I pay her to do that. If you’re making out with her, she can’t keep her pay, and then she can’t pay her bills, and then all the blame is on me. So why don’t you leave so everyone around her can do their job, all right.”
I looked at him, decided to drop it, and got up.
“Whatever man. It’s a drag being around in this office with you in it anyways.”
“Oh, mature Jeff.” Jared said, rolling his eyes.
“Pain in my [butt]…” I muttered as I turned around and headed toward Eva, who was pouring him another cup of coffee.
“Sorry to say this babe but I have to go.”
“Jared use his ‘I’m the one paying you’ speech to you too?” she said, not looking up from what she was doing.
“Yeah.”
“I hear that one a lot. Well you go, I’ll make do.”
“All right. Hey, your lunch is at 12, right?”
“One. Since Trish left I’ve also had to work twice as much.”
“All right. For lunch I’ll bring you something, or I’ll call you or something.”
She gave me a weak smile and kissed me on my cheek.
“Baby, you’re an angel in disguise.”
“I think you’ve got yourself confused. Your the angel.”
“Oh shut-up.” She smiled before I leaned down for a kiss.
“Eva! Where’s my coffee!?”
I groaned as she pulled away.
“I better leave before I do something I regret.”
“Bye baby.” She said, giving me a kiss on my cheek before walking off.

Eva P.O.V.

Jared was seriously getting on my nerves. I was tempted to take my pen, and stick it up god knows where, and leave the [dang] place. But my bills were due, and no matter how bad this job was it paid well. I looked up at the clock and gave a relieved sighed. My lunch was up and I needed the break. I got up from my chair and stretched, then realized I had forgotten to pack a lunch, and worse I didn’t feel like going anywhere for it. Then I thought of Jeff. He was supposed to be bringing me something……so where was he? My question was answered as I saw Drew walk over with a Chili’s bag.
“Hey bud.” I smiled, standing up and giving him a hug. He gave me one in return and took a seat beside me.
“Hey. Heard your boss was pissing you off this morning.”
“Was? He still is. He’s away for half the afternoon but when he comes back that large pile over there needs to be filed and finished. So my lunch break may need to be cut short.”
“That sucks.”
“Tell me about it.” I looked around and sighed.
“What?” he asked, taking one of my fries. I gave him a look before asking,
“Where’s Jeff?”
Drew choked on the fry and shook his head.
“What?” I asked, confused about his reaction.
“Nothing, but you don’t want to know where he’s at.”
“I don’t?”
“No.”
“I do now. Drew, come on and tell me.”
Drew took another fry and said,
“He’s at the hospital.” Before putting it in his mouth.
“What?!” I asked standing up.
“Calm down, he’s all right.”
“He’s all right. My boyfriend is in the hospital. Is he all right? Is he going to be okay?”
“Yes. It’s really stupid when I tell you.”
“Well then tell me.” I said, pushing my food away. Then I thought twice and took it again. Drew shook his head and took a breathe. Then, before breathing it out he said,
“Well Jeff had came over I guess after he left here. I was [arse]embling a nightstand that Lea was pressing me on and Jeff decided to help.”
“Don’t tell me he power drilled his hand?!” I asked afraid. Drew laughed and shook his head.
“No, I guess it’s sort of worse.”
“Worse?!”
“Well, the kit required that you glue it together.”
“Glue it together? What kind of glue?”
“I’m getting to it. So we were doing fine until we had to super glue some kooky part. Well, Mr. Smooth Timmons was ever so nice to not realize the glue to the top was off and ended up gluing his hands together.”
“Ohh Jeffrey.” I groaned.
“Now let me tell you that it’s stuck pretty tight. Its gonna be hell taking that stuff apart. Lea's with him now and the doctor said that he’s going to be all right and everything, but he’s going to be doing a lot of soaking. Then he’s going to have to take some sort of hand cream so the glue doesn’t get him sick.”
I groaned.
“Oh great. I fell in love with Dumbo himself.”
Drew laughed, but then asked,
“Wait, did you just say love?”
“No, of course not.” I quickly said, turning the other way.

Jeff P.O.V.

I sighed as I laid in the hospital room. I felt like the dumbest man to ever walk the planet. And even worse, on my most “romantic day ever”, I wasn’t spending it with the one who needed some romance in her life. I softly picked up my right hand out of the warm water and groaned in agony. This [crap] hurt like hell. I put it back in just as Lea walked in.
“Feel any better?”
“No.” I mumbled. She laughed and I rolled my eyes.
“You laugh. This is all your fault.”
“Mine?”
“If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t have done this to myself.”
“How?”
“You had to have that nightstand [arse]embled. You couldn’t wait. And you knew I would help.”
“I’ll warn you next time, all right.” She laughed. I sighed and laid back down in the hospital bed.
“What now?”
“I want to be with Eva right now.”
“She want’s to be with you too…” she stopped.
“What?”
“Nothing.”
“Did Drew tell her? I swear to god he better not have.”
“He didn’t.” she said, covering a smile. Then she looked at me.
“You’re still taking her out?”
“Yeah, I have to.”
“Oh.”
“Yeah.”
“What are you going to do?”
“I don’t know. I was thinking roses, and dinner, and candlelight, and I don’t know. My plans have been interrupted. I don’t know?” he shrugged.
“Reservations?”
“Too late.” I sighed.
“It’ll all be good.”
“Yeah.” I sighed again.
“You’re sure your okay.”
“Just dandy.” I sighed. She smiled.
“Your day will get better, promise.”
I wish as hell I could believe her.

Pretty soon I was able to leave the hospital. Which was a blessing and curse all at once. I wanted to be near Eva, but my hands were killing me. I could barely lift my arms. But I decided not to complain. I told Eva on the way home I’d pick her up eight. Hopefully some kind of restaurant had an open space somewhere. I took a shower, a long painful one, and got dressed. Who would have ever knew how many times you used your hands in a day? Well anyways, somehow I managed to drive to her house. I guess I was learning to tolerate pain. I knocked on her door, roses in hand of course, and hoped she couldn’t see my screwed up hands. She opened it up and smiled.
“Hey….don†„¢t we look nice.” She said, grabbing the roses.
“You look nice to………are you…dressed?” I asked confused. She laughed as she looked down at herself.
“I guess.” She shrugged, looking down at her sweats.
“Oh, you know because you’re sort of casually dressed and I’m sort of dressed up…” I looked down at my new blue silk shirt.
“You look really nice too. You came just in time, dinner just finished.”
“Dinner?” I asked as I followed her into her kitchen.
“Uh huh.” She said, bending over and taking the lasagna out of the oven. I snapped myself out my gaze and looked over at her.
“Why are you…..and….Iâ₠™m confused and for once not ashamed to admit it.” I said. She laughed and walked over to me.
“I found out about you and umm…your little glue incident.” She said, wrapping her arms around me.
“What? Drew…..I oughta…..”
“Before you kill him,” she interrupted me.
“I forced it out of him. I was really scared when he said you were at the hospital.”
“The little runt wasn’t supposed to say anything period.”
“Get over it. I still don’t see how you managed to glue your hands together though….”
“Accidents happen.”
“Yeah, I see. Lea told me you hadn’t made any plans so I decided we could have a nice little romantic dinner here.” She smiled up at me and gave me a kiss on my nose.
“Don’t be mad.” She said after a while.
“I’m not mad. I’m just trying to figure out how to kill Drew in less than ten ways.”
“You silly.” She said, un-wrapping her arms around me and starting to serve lasagna on a plate. When she was done she put both of them next to me.
“So I’m eating two…?” I asked a little confused. She laughed and shook her head.
“You may have trouble trying to eat seeing as your hands might hurt, so if you need help, I’m only an inch away.”
“Right.” I smiled, as I already started to dig into the food.

Pretty soon the night went by in a whirlwind. I was going to leave later on but ended up staying the night, which was okay. I think it was even harder to sleep knowing that Eva was right next door to me. Morning came too soon and we both went to my house early so she could help me pack (since I forgot too the day before). Pretty soon we were standing outside of my bus, sort of dwelling on our last minutes together.
“I don’t want you to go.” Eva said after a while.
“I don’t want me to go either. Kinda got this philosophy if I leave I’ll come back to nothing.”
Eva smiled and wrapped her arms around my neck.
“You won’t make it a day with your injured hand by yourself.”
I pulled her closer to me and smiled.
“I’ll find a way to manage.”
We were silent and she silently whispered,
“You’ll have someone to come home too. I wouldn’t…..couldnà ¢â‚¬â„¢t let you out of my life when its turn right every since you’ve stepped into it.”
“That makes me feel a bit better.”
“It should you stupid oaf!” she said, hitting me in the back of my head.
“Ow!! What was that for?” I said, un-wrapping one of my hands and rubbing the spot on the back of my head.
“For being a stupid oaf.” She laughed.
“Oh, I’ll remember not to next time I see you.”
“You better.” She said, standing on her tip-toes and kissing me. We were interrupted when we heard,
“Daddie!!!”
I looked over Eva’s shoulder and spotted Alyssa running toward me. I smiled and released Eva before opening my arms for Alyssa to jump into. She gave me a kiss on the cheek, and then turned toward Eva.
“You say good-bye to daddie too?”
“Yeppers.” She said, bending down. Alyssa walked toward her and let her pick her up.
“You don’t want him to go. You guys won’t break up like mommie and daddie did, will you?”
“No.” she laughed. Just then Trish came over with Jeff Jr. in his stroller. I started to play with him as Trish occupied herself with her hands and Eva started playing with Alyssa.
“Oh yeah, Trish this is my girlfriend Eva. Eva this is Trish.”
“Nice to meet you.” They both said, and then laughed in uneasiness. I shook my head as Trish spoke up,
“You seem to be good with kids. Alyssa doesn’t take to people really well.”
“I’ve heard. But I love little ‘Lyssa. She reminds me of me when I was little. Though she’s more hyper than I was.”
“I’m sure.” Trish laughed, and then Alyssa spoke up.
“Can I spend time with Eva though daddie will be gone? Please mommie….mommie, she may be my other mommie and I like her and….”
“Its okay, I get the idea.” Trish laughed. Alyssa smiled, and then we heard Mike calling for me. I sighed as I put Jeff back in his stroller and turned to Alyssa. She jumped into my arms and gave me what I knew was one of her biggest hugs. When I released her I sort of gave Trish a half smile before turning to Eva.
“So this is what its like to say good-bye, eh?” she asked after a while.
“Yeah, it sort of sucks.”
“Your telling me.” she said, before pulling me into her arms and we embraced in a hug I wished lasted longer. Then we gave each other one last kiss, before I stepped into the bus and headed for my first venue in Washington.

Chapter 8

Eva P.O.V.
So Jeff left me. It sucked....it really, really sucked. But life goes on. I spent time with Trish and the kids a lot. Jeff was gone for one month, then two, three, four, then five. Then he had to be gone for a whole year....a whole year without him. His tour had been going so well they decided to make it worldwide. I saw him rarely, and when I mean rare I mean rare. We talked on the phone a lot though and I guess that helped comfort me somewhat. But of course, that wasn't the same. It was the sixth month that I got a modeling job for Victoria Secret. It wasn't a lot, it was Victoria Secret, but it was something. I didn't expect my career to explode. I got a two year contract to model for them, but that wasn't all. I also got offers from Milian, Prada, big shoot names. It seemed to happen over night. I suppose Jared did have a heart after all. It was him that got me the interview to begin with. So I suppose I wasn't that lonely, but it was close enough. It was a year later that I had some free time and decided to have lunch with Lea and Trish. The three of us had gotten really close, really, really close. We went out to eat at Mimi's Cafe. After we ordered Trish asked,
"So how's the modeling life treating ya?"
I smiled.
"Its wondeful. Long tedious hours. I barely get to sleep. I have a strict diet I am not obeying today. I'm have to exercise a lot as well."
"Sounds fun." Lea laughed.
"It is. I have my first "real" function to go to tomorrow. Its a movie premier."
"To what movie?"
"I don't even know." I laughed. Trish shook her head.
"Talk to Jeff."
"Yeah..." I started to drift.
"What's wrong?" Lea asked. I sighed.
"We fought."
"Oh boy." she sighed.
"What's wrong with that?" Lea asked. I sighed.
"It was our first big fight. He's getting concerned about my modeling career, and I backlashed about his singing career. Then its the fact I'm leaving for New York tonight for the premier."
"What's he scared of?" Trish asked. I sighed.
"I think he's scaerd I'm going to meet someone."
"And it begins." Trish sighed. I nodded. Lea touched my shoulder,
"Its going to be fine."
I shrugged.
"I hope so."

I left them to pack for New York. Pretty soon I was on an airplane there. My publicist was explaining to me what the agenda was. Apparently it was for a movie called Kingdom of Heaven. Orlando Bloom was in it (who the heck was he?) and I was supposed to show up for the red carpet event. I sighed as I looked out the window, staring out at the tall buildings. This was my first time in New York...Jeff had promised to take me here.
"You got that Eva."
I turned to my publicist Michelle and asked,
"What?"
"Your going to stay for the movie and afterparty. You get to hang out with the cast."
"Sounds like fun." I forged a smile. She smiled back.
"It'll get better hon."
I sighed.
"I sure hope so."
Eventually we got there and I stepped out into the limelight. It was a lot, it was wonderful. I never been on the red carpet before, it was like I was a celebrity. And I had fans...who would ever expect me to have fans. I was walking into the theater, looking for my seat, when I first bumped into him. He was tall...I'd say around Jeff's hieght, and had a great smile and these wonderful pair of eyes.
"I'm sorry about that?" he said, bending down to help pick up my purse that had fell.
"Its nothing. I wasn't looking where I was going." I smiled back at him.
"Excuse me but you are...?"
"Eva. Eva Florez."
"The model who seemed to have won America's heart overnight. I've heard about you."
"Oh," I blushed and asked,
"And you."
"Oh excuse me. Orlando, Orlando Bloom."
I nodded my head.
"Nice to meet you Mr. Bloom."
~End of P.O.V.~

Jeff P.O.V.
I smiled as I got off the plane. I had a week off and hoped to spend it with Eva. Then I frowned. I couldn't do that. She was in New York, promoting herself at a movie event. The thought made me sick to the stomach. I didn't mean to be so hard on her last night on the phone, fact of the matter was I was scared. I was scared I was going to lose her. She was already getting popular. Everywhere I looked, her face was somewhere, promoting her company. Victoria SEcret wouldn't be my first choice for her to model for but Eva was estatic. She would be able to use that experience when she moved to higher ground. As soon as I got home I called Drew's phone number. After a couple of rings he picked up.
"Hello, Lachey Residence."
"Drew, its Jeff."
"Hey Jeff! How's it been?"
"Good. You."
"Pretty good."
"All right. So...talked to Eva."
"Not lately. But she's on TV. She looks great."
Curious I asked,
"What channel?"
"12."
"I quickly flipped to the channel and saw her smiling and posing for various cameras. Then she was talking to the camera."

This is Janet Line down in the big apple at the critically acclaimed movie premier of Kingdom of Heaven. To my right I have new hottie Eva Florez. So Eva, how are you enjoying your time here?
"It's awesome. This is my first movie premier and I'm loving all the excitment and all."
You became famous overnight. Are you surprised at all the fans that have showed up for you?
"Its crazy because I barely came out and it looks like I already have a strong fan base. This isn't even my movie!!"
You shouldn't be suprised. So what do you think of all the actors here?
"I meet Liam Neeson and he was awesome. I loved him in Les Mes saw that was great. And its funny because there's another actress here, Eva Green, who has my first name. I hope to talk to her more after the movie."
And what about the leading man, Orlando Bloom.
"He's terrific, I especially hope to meet him. He looks great, but I guess he always does..."

I turned off the TV when Drew asked,
"Hello."
"Yeah."
"you ok?"
"Yeah...gotta go."
"All right, you sure your okay?:
"Fine, bye."
"bye."
He hung up and I sighed. I didn't know what it was, but I didn't like the fact that Eva admired this Orlando Bloom so much.

Chapter 9
Eva P.O.V.

The movie was just wonderful; I didn’t expect it to be so good. The funny thing was that I actually knew what was going on which was a big surprise cause I never really was good in World History. Afterwards I hit the after party and got to meet a lot of the other cast who was really cool, along with other celebrities. The highlight of it all was that I spent a large majority of my time with Orlando. The man was just brilliant. And I like his accent, no I loved it. He had a wonderful view on life and where he wanted to go as an actor. We spent a lot of the night flirting back and forth with each other, and soon I had to leave. I had a photo shoot in the morning I knew I would have to wake up early in the morning, so I departed. But not before snagging Orlando’s phone number. We promised we’d stay in touch; he would be in L.A. a lot after this filming for Pirates of the Caribbean Two and I had photo shoots down there as well so it seemed only right we would find time to meet up. I was on cloud nine when I feel asleep, I didn’t remember the last time I felt like this.
Then the next day hit. The photo shoot went well, and Orlando had surprisingly dropped by. We had lunch together, and then I had to leave to fly back to L.A. We departed and I was flying home. I was really happy, very happy. Orlando made me feel alive, and happy, almost like someone else I knew…
When I got home I didn’t have anything on my messages. My house was the same way I had left it, untouched. I was walking out the shower about to make dinner when my cell phone rang.
“Hello?” I asked, hoping it was a call from Orlando. It wasn’t. In fact, the voice on the other end was a voice I had forgotten in the course of 48 hours.
“Hey babe.”
My happy demeanor fell. I dropped the bag of pasta I was holding, and then quickly asked,
“Jeff?”
“Yeah babe, how ya doing?”
I turned off the stove and walked into the living room. I fell on the couch.
“Fine….how are you?”
“I’m fine. I’m great.”
“That’s good.” I looked up at the ceiling.
“Where are you?” It was a question I was used to asking, this time hoping relief would hit me instead of disappointment. This time Jeff laughed and asked,
“Don’t you remember?”
“No…?”
“I’m in L.A. I got a week off to spend with you.”
“Oh….” I groaned some more.
“What?”
“Nothing.” I tried to shove it off.
“Well…don†„¢t you want me to come over or something?”
I bit my bottom lip, then finally said,
“You can’t.”
“Why not.”
“I...uhh, was about to go to bed. I have an early photo shoot tomorrow.”
I was lying through my teeth.
“Oh, well then, tomorrow?” I heard his disappointment and couldn’t take it anymore.
“Maybe.” I sighed.
“All right, bye babe.”
“Bye.” I sighed, hanging up. I needed to talk to Lea.
End of P.O.V.

“You what?!?!” Lea Lachey yelled, looking down at her friend. Eva nodded. It had been two days now, and Eva still hadn’t seen Jeff. His last performance would be here in L.A., and then he was free. Free to make what was wrong right with his relationship with Eva. Eva wouldn’t have it though. She had just told Lea about Orlando.
“When?”
“At the movie premier.”
“Why?”
“He seemed like a harmless friend to make. I didn’t think I’d fall for him.”
Lea grained, hitting her friend. She didn’t want this to happen. She knew that when relationships started hit rock bottom, usually one of the two in the relationship leaned on someone until that moment in their life p[arse]ed. Jeff had leaned on his friends and his kids, and Eva had found comfort in the arms of another man.
“Did you sleep with him?”
“No!” Eva laughed.
Lea looked at her and she quickly simmered.
“We barely even kissed.”
“He kissed you!!” Lea was getting angry again. Eva sighed.
“Only on the cheek. Calm down.”
“No!!” Lea said sitting down. Eva looked at her then finally spoke up.
“Were just friends.”
“Sure.” Lea snorted. Eva sighed.
“We are.”
“You guys are moving to fast.” Lea said, rubbing her temples. Eva smiled.
“Stop worrying. It’s only been a week and we’re just talking to each other.”
“But he wants to meet up with you when he flies out here.”
“That’s next week.”
“The same day your boyfriend’s last concert is on.”
Eva sighed.
“So…”
“You’re considering doing it!!!?”
“I don’t know. I really like Orlando. He’s one of a kind.”
“But so are you and Jeff!!!”
“Maybe.”
“Maybe!! That’s all you can say is maybe? Remember a year ago when he was your everything.”
“Yeah, then he left to go on tour.”
“You said you would wait.”
“I did wait!! He never came. He never cared. Even Alyssa started to see what her dad was doing.”
“You’re starting to sound like Trish.”
“Trish was right to learn to let things go!! Let him go!!”
Lea stared at Eva, and then sighed.
“I thought you were stronger Eva.”
“Maybe I am. Maybe I’m not. But that night we were talking…he made it seem like all he cared about was he career. Like my own didn’t matter.”
“When all he could talk about is you.”
Eva sighed in defeat and Lea rolled her eyes. Finally Eva’s cell phone went off to set off the silence. She answered it quickly, and made Lea frown more when she said,
“Hey Orlando, how’ve you’ve been?”
She was quite before she bust out in laughter. Lea couldn’t believe it. She was tempted to lunge at Eva when she heard,
“Lea, we’re back.”
She smiled as she headed toward the front of the house.

Jeff P.O.V.
I was miserable. Eva wouldn’t talk to me at all. She wouldn’t return my calls. She left a message, once, but it didn’t say much. I knew that whatever I had done, I had screwed up big time. Even Drew didn’t know what was up. Or Lea. That’s when they both got an idea. They were Bar-b-queing...why not bring me and Eva along. Bad idea. Eva couldn’t come. Still I was forced too, just so I couldn’t make myself even more miserable. We had gone out to go and get some more charcoal and whatever else Lea forgot, and now we were back at his house. We were unpacking the groceries when Lea came, a smile on her face.
“What’s up babe?” Drew asked, giving her a quick kiss on the cheek. She shrugged.
“Nothing.” She started to dig through the groceries.
“Nothing?” he asked, raising a brow. She nodded and he shook his head and looked at me. I shrugged. He sighed. We started at it again when I heard her voice. She was laughing, and coming closer to where we were. I looked up at Drew and Lea who didn’t seem to notice, then shook my head. Either I was going crazy or they were death. Then I heard her again, and the next thing I knew she was in front of me. She was talking on the phone and she was smiling, it was a smile I haven’t saw in a long time. She was saying something on the phone,
“I’ll see if I can but I’m usually uber busy……fine, I’ll try. I will, just call me when you fly in. All right, well, call me later. Yeah, whenever you can dork, I have nothing to do now that my shoot got canceled. All right, talk to you later. Bye.”
She hung up the phone still smiling, then looked up and began to say,
“Lea I think I…”
She looked at the room, and then she looked at me. She didn’t even move. Her smile faded as quickly as it had came. She looked over at Lea, who smiled and asked,
“Yeah…”
But nothing still wouldn’t come out. Finally I said,
“Hey Eva.”
“Hi Jeff.”
“Who were you talking too?” Drew asked, unfazed by all that was going on.
“Or… I mean Oh, nobody. Just a friend.”
“Did you invite whoever it was over?”
“No…theyâ€⠄¢re out of town right now. Their going to fly in next week.”
“Oh.”
I still couldn’t take my eyes off of her, and finally I said,
“Eva, can we talk.”
She slowly nodded her head as she followed me out to the patio.

Chapter 10
Jeff P.O.V.

We walked into the patio and Eva turned from me to look up at the sky.
“You look beautiful.” I said to her back. I saw her slightly move, then finally say,
“Thank you. You’ve grown handsome yourself.” I smiled and walked toward her.
“I didn’t think that I miss you so much, but seeing you here…I wish I never left.” I came up behind her and gave her a hug. She tensed a bit and turned around.
“Jeff…”
She looked up at me and then sighed.
“Forget it.”
“No, what is it.” Her hair had grown a bit longer and her bangs were covering her eyes. I softly brushed one away and she grabbed my hand.
“Don’t worry about it. All that matters is that you’re here with me. I should have never thought otherwise.”
“Really?”
“Yeah.” She gave me a smile and hugged me back.
“I missed you too you know.”
“Didn’t seem like it. Why were you ignoring my calls?”
“You pissed me off on our last conversation.”
“Oh.”
She grabbed my hand and gave me a quick kiss on the lips,
“Let’s go inside and help Lea and Drew.”
I nodded but then stopped her.
“What now?”
She asked, giving me another look.
“Who are you picking up at the airport?”
Her smile disappeared, if just for a minute, before she found it and said,
“You’ll see soon enough.”

The rest of the day went smoothly. Pretty soon me and Eva were back at our old ways, cuddling, hugging, and teasing each other, the way it was before I left. She wasn’t kissing me as much though, but I took what I could take. I guess I couldn’t complain too much. I went too a couple of her photo shoots and let me tell you I went to all the right ones. What boyfriend wouldn’t like to watch their girlfriend model for a big time lingerie company? I guess they weren’t all pleasant, she had to wear outfits for a majority of them but God Bless whoever invented Victoria Secret. Next week came and then I had to prepare for my last concert. It was that morning when I knocked on her door. She was up, surprisingly, and looking a bit disheveled.
“Hey babe.” I smiled, kissing her on the cheek.
“Hey.” She gave a short smile and returned to the kitchen.
“What you up too?”
“Nothing.” she said, starting to look through her fridge.
“Need something.”
“Just checking my stock.”
“Why?”
“No reason. Need to go to the store.” She turned to me.
“What brings you here?”
I smiled and grabbed her.
“I missed you.”
“Really….†
“Yep.”
“And?”
“And I was wondering what time you were coming to the arena.” I said bending down and hoping to get a kiss. She turned her head and I got her cheek instead. Oh well, it was something.
“About that.” She eased out of my arms and headed toward her pantry.
“Yeah…”
“I can’t…..come tonight.”
“You can’t?” I asked disappointed. She nodded and looked toward me.
“Why not.”
She closed her eyes and sighed.
“I have a business meeting.”
“Tonight?”
“Yeah, something about shooting in Milan.”
“Milan, Italy?”
“Yeah.”
“Wow, that’s big.”
“I know. This meeting is big if I don’t go.”
“Oh, that’s okay.”
I was quiet, and then asked.
“Can you come to rehearsal?”
“No, I have to pick up my friend, remember.”
“Oh, yeah. You’re Friend. The friend that I’ve yet to meet.”
“You will soon.”
“Tell me, is this a friend a chick or a dude.”
She smiled and walked toward me.
“You’ll see.”
“Cause if it’s a dude I’ll-“ I was cut off by a kiss. When she released me she said,
“Don’t worry. Do good tonight. I’ll take you out to lunch tomorrow.”
“Promise?” I asked.
“Promise.” She smiled, and then slightly pushed me.
“No scoot…I have to leave soon.”
“All right, all right.” I smiled, walking out of the room and heading toward the door. Who would’ve thought that would be my last kiss I would get from her in a long time.
End of P.O.V.

Eva P.O.V.
It was three when I actually did leave my house…my earlier meeting was cancelled and I figured might as well catch some Z’s. I told Orlando that I’d pick him up at the airport four, but I had to go shopping. Not only for food, I could do another day without that, but for some clothes. Orlando wanted to take me out to dinner tonight and I guiltily agreed. I knew I was missing Jeff’s concert but he said he was recording it and I already knew what he was going to perform so it wasn’t like I was missing too much. When I finally did find something to wear and got to LAX airport it was close to four thirty. I immediately spotted Orlando and quickly drove up to him.
“Sorry, I was out shopping.” I quickly said, getting out the car and heading toward him. He smiled when he saw me and gave me a long hug.
“I figured it wasn’t something like that. How have you been?”
“Fine.” I smiled, releasing him. I looked at him and laughed.
“What?” he asked.
“You look like a bum.”
He smiled and nodded.
“It’s the beard.”
“And the outfit.”
“My old sweats. There comfortable.”
“It’s fine. I look like a bum after a plane ride too.”
He smiled and followed me to his car with his luggage.
“I figure, might as well look most unappealing so I can at least get through airport security without getting spotted.
“Makes sense.”
I laughed as I stepped into the car.
“So I talked to Johnny and…”
“Johnny?”
“Depp. My co-star.”
“You talked to…ignore me.”
“It’s fine. Well I talked to him and there’s this restaurant I want to take to you that overlooks the whole city. It’ll be great.”
“Sounds like fun to me.”
“I had reservations for 8:30”
“Sounds like a plan. Four hours is enough for me.”
“I hoped so.”

I dropped him off at his hotel and headed home to get ready. It was around six when I got a call from Jeff. We talked for a few minutes and then I got off to finish getting ready. It was then that guilt started to seep in. It had got me completely by the time I got to the restaurant but upon seeing Orlando it all went away. It was great; I was as comfortable with him as I was with Jeff. We talked about everything over dinner, and I even brought up Jeff. That was when I had to lie and told him we had just broken up. He smiled and told me that he too was single and then it just went uphill. He had taken a taxi to the restaurant and so I was going to take him home. Instead though, I drove to my home and we sort of lounged around, talking about nothing really. We were on the couch, with some low jazz music on the background and I had lit a couple of candles. Orlando was looking wonderful, his dark eyes were intently on me and he had shaved his little beard that I had seen earlier. I knew I should have started to take him home but I was comfortable and everything seemed to be going so right…
“Eva?” he asked after a while. I had closed my eyes and upon hearing my name I looked toward him,
“Hmm.”
“I want to tell you something.”
“What?” I asked, opening an eye.
“I’m really attracted to you.”
I smiled and closed my eye.
“I’m really attracted to you too Orlando.”
“I was wondering…”
“Yeah?”
“Would you want to pursue a relationship with me?” I opened my eyes and looked at Orlando. His eyes were focused on me and his face showed no expression, at least none that I could read. I closed my eyes and finally said,
“Only if you want to pursue a relationship with me.”
I looked toward him and he smiled at me.
“I would love to.”
And then he had bent down and kissed me. I should have just told him the truth then but he was…he was a very good kisser. We spent a long time kissing and finally, I took him back to his hotel. I went to sleep happy and it wasn’t until morning when I realized my mistake.

Chapter 11
Jeff P.O.V.

The concert had been great, it was wonderful. It was a huge turnout, people from everywhere. And the after party was even better; everyone was there that I knew to support me. Everyone but Eva. I asked Lea about Eva’s meeting but she told me that they usually didn’t speak about her modeling life. And as far as her friend went….she said that was up to me to find out. So that morning I got ready to spend lunch time with my girlfriend. There was something missing to all she was telling me and I hoped to get it all from her. We decided on a secluded spot where we wouldn’t be spotted and I came early. Ten minutes later Eva was there, looking both happy and sad at the same.
“Hey baby.” I smiled, giving her a hug.
“Jeff.” She said, giving me a slight hug and taking a seat. I was confused by her manners and asked.
“How was the meeting? Did you get it?”
“Get…oh, it was great.”
“Yeah.”
“Yeah.”
A waitress came and asked for our drinks. We ordered and she turned to me.
“Jeff…I think you know that something….something weird has been up with me.”
“Yeah.”
“Well….â€Â
“Wait, before you say something, I wanted to tell you something.”
“What?”
“Well, now that the concert is over, I’m free to go with you to your photo shoots.”
“Oh that’s great Jeff but…”
“Wait, and I also wanted to tell you this last night but you weren’t there.”
“Jeff…” she sighed. I grabbed her hands and smiled.
“You mean a lot to me Eva. This year has been a long one but you were always there keeping me sane. I guess what I’m trying to say is….I love you Eva.”
She looked at me blank for a second, and then buried her face in her hands.
“You don’t mean that Jeff.”
“But I do.” I smiled at her.
She looked up at me with tears in her eyes.
“What’s wrong?” I asked. The waitress came with our drinks and we quickly told her what we wanted. Eva looked at me and said,
“Remember when you wanted to know how the Kingdom of Heaven premier went and I didn’t tell you.”
“Yeah….what does that have to do with….”
“Just wait.”
“All right.” I said.
“Well, I’m going to tell you. It was fun, I got to meet Liam, and my fans were there, and it was movie that I really liked. But I met someone there, Orlando.”
“Yeah, I saw that.”
“Well, we became friends. He’s really funny and all, we got along and everything. He was the friend that flew in last night.”
“All right. But what does that have to do with us?”
She took a couple of breathes and exclaimed.
“I didn’t have a meeting last night Jeff.”
“You didn’t?”
“No.....Orlando asked me out to dinner.”
“You went out with him last night…….†I sat back in my seat surprised.
“Why would you-“ She quickly cut me off.
“Me and him, we went out last night. We went back to my place and were talking and then…..well….he asked me out.”
“What did you say?” I asked. The pain was starting to seep in and I prayed she wouldn’t tell me what I loathed to hear.
“I told him that I would like a relationship with him too. Jeff, I don’t know……I really like him. I really, really like him. He’s great, he makes me laugh and smile and….he likes me a lot too. I don’t know what happened…Jeff, you left me and I thought I lost you to your career and he was there and he’s always there and…...do you see?”
I was hearing her words but I couldn’t comprehend them. The pain was too much. I chocked out,
“Were over, aren’t we?” She sighed.
“Yeah Jeff, we’re over.”
I closed my eyes and tried to blink back the tears.
“Were still friends, right?”
“I hope so.”
“Yeah….well Eva…..I think I should….should go.”
“Jeff you don’t…†
I was already standing up though.
“I need to…I need to go….I’ll talk to you when I can better take this and…..”
“Jeff.” This time I heard her whisper my name but I had to turn away. My eyes were burning from my tears.
“I’ll talk to you later Eva.” I choked out, walking to my car. If I thought the divorce was bad, this was far worse than any relationship I’ve ever been in. And it wasn’t the fact that I lost her long ago, it was the fact that I felt that this time I had really lost my soul mate.
