A Simple Wish

**Ok...I decided to write a Justin story. This is all I'm putting for now (since it's all I have at the moment) I just want to see what people think of it.

Prologue</span>

<span style="color:blue">Justin sat on the couch looking out of the window of their tour bus. All of those screaming girls and none of them wanted him. Everybody was either a Jeff girl, a Drew girl, or a Nick girl. No one ever wanted to be a Justin girl. He couldn’t understand it. What was so wrong about him? Ok, so he wasn’t as buff as the rest of the guys, but so what. Wasn’t there a girl out there that saw past looks and just wanted to be with a guy for their personality? He sighed and got up off of the couch and went to lay in his bunk until they arrived at the hotel they were going to be staying. They were on the last tour of the year since the holidays were coming up and they wanted to spend time with their families. Justin wished he had someone special to spend it with. The last few girls that he went out with only wanted to be with him in order to get close to the other three guys. Didn’t they know that he had feelings? He couldn’t wait to finish the tour in order to get away from all of these girls. He felt the bus stop and heard the driver say that they had arrived at the hotel. He quickly got off the bus, got his things and walked into the hotel. He just wanted to lock himself inside his room until it was time to perform. He boarded the elevator with the other three guys and they went up.

“Are you ok J? You’ve been awfully quiet the whole day,� Drew asked adjusting his bags in his hands.

“Yea, I’m good. I’m just thinking about things,� he said not wanting to talk to the guys about how depressed he was right now. He always seemed to get like this during the holidays.

“Do you want to talk about it?� Jeff asked sounding concerned.

“Not at the moment. I just want to go to my room and sleep,� he said as they arrived at their floor and walked out of the elevator. He headed straight for his room and locked the door behind him after letting himself in.

<span style="color:blue">The tour was finally over and it was only a few more days for Christmas. Justin woke up as his phone began ringing.

“Hello?� Justin said answering it.

“Hi unkie Justin,� an excited Alyssa said on the other end.

“Hey sweetie, what are you doing calling me so early in the morning?� he asked stretching in bed trying to fully wake up.

“It’s almost cwismas.�

“I know sweetie...just a few more days.�

“Unkie Justin, what do you want for chwismas?� she asked before quickly interrupting him before he answered the question. “Guess what!�

“What?� he asked relieved that she had changed the subject.

“It’s snowing outside. Daddy let me make snow angels.�

“He did. Did you make a snowman too?�

“Daddy said we’ll make them when you come over tonight.�

“When I come over tonight?�

“Uh huh... Daddy said you and unkie Nick and unkie Drew are coming tonight.�

“Really...is daddy around?�

“Alyssa, go change your clothes,� he heard Jeff tell her in the background.

“Bye unkie Justin,� she said throwing him a kiss over the phone

“Bye Sweetie�

“Justin?� Jeff said coming on the phone

“So, what’s this I hear about tonight?� he asked sitting up on the bed now.

“Alyssa wants to see you guys for the holidays and since everyone is going to be with their families we’re having a little get together tonight. I’ll see you than.�

“What makes you think I’ll be able to make it? I could have a date or something you know,� he asked, a little pissed that he wasn’t informed about this sooner and was expected to go without being asked if he had plans first.

“Do you have a date tonight?�

“No, but I could’ve.�

“Uh huh...I’ll see you tonight around 6pm.�

“Yea...alright...bye,†� he said before hanging up the phone. He lay back down on the bed and looked at the ceiling. He was alone and depressed. That’s what he wanted for Christmas, someone to hold and call his own.

<span style="color:blue">It was now 6pm and Justin was walking out of his apartment to head over to Jeff’s house. He really didn’t feel like getting there early, so he decided to leave at the time he was expected to be there. He walked down the hallway and pushed the button for the elevator. When it stopped on his floor two minutes later he got in and pushed the lobby button and watched the digital numbers count down one by one. When the elevator stopped 3 floors later Justin pulled his hat a little lower to cover his face and looked down at the floor. He didn’t want to deal with anybody recognizing him at the moment. He heard the person walk in as their cell phone rang. He listened to their conversation in order to keep him from looking up at the numbers of the floors counting down.

“Hello?...what?...nothing, why?.....what do you mean, what do I mean?....because I don’t feel like doing anything...no....because...because I don’t want to....no I’m not...no I’m not!...whatever!......I’m not going on a double date with you on Christmas...no I’m not...because I don’t feel like it...you know why...so what if it’s been a month...whatever! I have to go...I’m not going...I don’t feel like dealing with guys...when I’m ready then I’ll date again...fine...bye!� he heard her let out a sigh of frustration.

“Are you ok?� he asked looking up at the girl standing in the corner next to the elevator door.

“Yea,� she said glancing up at him then looking back down at the floor. She quickly looked back up at him with a look that immediately let him know that she knew who he was.

“I’m Justin, but you probably already knew that,� he said offering her his hand to shake hoping she wouldn’t scream.

“I’m Leslie. I wasn’t going to say anything. You seem like you don’t feel like being bothered at the moment,� she said shaking his hand.

“I guess today just isn’t our day, huh?� Justin asked letting out a little laugh.

“Yea...I guess,� she said looking down at the floor again.

“Don’t you hate it when people try to get you to date someone when you aren’t even ready for it?� Justin asked breaking the silence a few minutes later.

“Yea, ever since my ex and I broke up my sister has been trying to get me to date other people. It’s really frustrating because I tell her I’m not ready yet she keeps persisting.�

“Yea...I usually go out with girls, but in the end they really don’t want me. They’re just using me to get to one of the other guys. The guys don’t see it though. So once I break up with a girl, they’re always trying to hook me up with someone else. I usually end up yelling, then I get depressed and then I close myself out from the rest of the world, which is hard to do...because...well you know.�

“Yea...that’s kind of cruel to do. You seem like a really nice guy. I don’t understand girls. The only reason they go out with a guy now a day is for his looks.�

The elevator stopped and the doors opened as she ended her sentence.

“Well, um...it was nice meeting you,� she said as they walked out of the building.

“It was nice meeting you too. I guess I’ll say Merry Christmas now just in case I don’t see you before than,� Justin said giving her a hug.

“Merry Christmas to you too,� she said smiling before walking in the opposite direction. Justin waved and headed towards Jeff’s house.

Justin whistled as he walked up Jeff’s block.

“Unkie Justin!� he heard as he saw Alyssa run up to him.

“Hey sweetie, what are you doing outside, it’s cold?� he said hugging her.

“We’re making a snowman!� Alyssa said grabbing his hand and leading him toward the half completed snowman in the front yard.

“You started without me?� he asked as they walked up to the rest of the guys.

“Alyssa couldn’t wait, so we figured we would just start it.� Jeff said patting some snow off of his jacket.

“What took you so long?� Drew asked, throwing a snowball at him.

“I left late,� he said moving out of the way before it hit him. He bent down and took some snow in his hand as he was standing up a snowball hit him in the arm.

“ALYSSA!� Jeff, Drew and Nick yelled all at once.

“Yes?� she asked innocently, folding her hands in front of her.

“Good job!� Drew said giving her a high five as Nick and Jeff laughed.

“Hey! You’re supposed to be on my side, not there’s,� Justin said cleaning his sleeve.

“Sorry unkie Justin,� she said, as she made another snowball and threw it at Drew.

“Hey!� Drew said, as everybody laughed.

They finished their little snowball fight and worked on the snowman before going inside to get warmed up.

Nick, Drew and Alyssa watched TV in the living room, while Jeff and Justin made hot chocolate in the kitchen.

“So J, you seem much better now from when I spoke to you this morning,� Jeff said taking out 5 mugs and placing them on the counter.

“Yea...,� he said thinking about Leslie. For some reason he felt much better ever since he spoke to her earlier.

“So, who is she?� Jeff asked interrupting his thoughts.

“Who’s who?� he said looking up from the counter as Jeff poured the chocolate packets in each mug.�

“Who’s the girl?� Jeff asked, crumbling one of the packets and throwing it in the trash. “You have that look in your eyes.�

“What look?� he asked.

“The look you always get every time you like someone. You have that look right now,� Jeff said tearing open another packet and pouring it in the mug before throwing it away.

“No I don’t!� Justin denied.

“Ok!� Jeff said, returning his attention to the now boiling water. “So, where’d you meet her?�

“You can’t let it go, can you?� he laughed.

“It’s just a simple question,� Jeff said pouring the water in the mugs.

Justin took a deep breathe and let it out. Jeff wasn’t going to give up until he got some information out of him. “I met her in the elevator.�

“The elevator from your building?� Jeff asked looking at him as he nodded. “What’s her name?� he asked pouring the last of the water into the mug.

“Leslie,� he said smiling.

“Who’s the girl?� Nick asked walking into the room seeing Justin smiling.

“Nobody!� Justin said defensively.

“That’s not nice to say about Leslie.� Jeff said rinsing the pot off and placing it on the dish rack.

“Leslie? You got a new girlfriend?� Nick asked sitting on one of the island stools.

“She’s not my girlfriend!� Justin yelled placing his head in his hands.

“Unkie J has a girlfriend? Is she perty?� Alyssa asked walking into the kitchen, followed by Drew.

“She’s very pretty,� he said before quickly saying. “She’s not my girlfriend!� everybody laughed as Justin placed his head on the counter.

“Oh, come on man we’re just messing with you.� Jeff said patting him on the back as Nick’s cell phone rang.

“Hello?...hey baby...I’m at Jeff’s...yeah we made a snowman with Alyssa...we’re about to drink some hot chocolate...Jeff made it...,� Nick laughed. “Are you coming over?.....hold on let me ask him,� Nick said turning his attention to Jeff. “Jess wants to know if she can bring a friend of hers over.�

“Yea, that’s fine,� Jeff said sipping some hot chocolate.

“Yea baby, just make sure she’s not psycho or anything. We don’t want her stalking Jeff since she’ll know where he lives.� Nick said laughing. “I’ll see you in a bit. Love you too, bye.�

“That’s not something to joke about,� Jeff said placing his mug on the counter as everyone laughed.

“So, who’s this Leslie?� Drew asked, helping Alyssa up on one of the stools.

“He met her in the elevator of his building,� Jeff replied before Justin could say something. “That’s all I know so far.�

“Ok...so her name is Leslie and you met her in the elevator. What else should we know about her?� Drew asked sitting next to Nick who was sipping hot chocolate.

“We can meet her!� Alyssa suggested.

“Yea...that’ll be a much easier way for us to get to know her.� Jeff said as the doorbell rang.

While Jeff went to open the door the other guys kept asking Justin questions about Leslie.

“So, does she live in your building?�

“I don’t know…she just got on the elevator 3 floors below mine.�

“You didn’t ask her?�

“No...she was on the phone most of the time we were on the elevator,� Justin said as Jeff came in the kitchen followed by Jessica, Lea and their friend.

“Guys this is Anne,� Jessica said walking up to Nick.

“Hey Anne,� they all greeted her at the same time.

“Daddy, can we go ice skating?� Alyssa asked after a moment of silence.

They all agreed to go and ended up walking over there since in was so close. Jeff talked to Anne. Jessica and Nick walked together. Drew ran after Lea as she threw snow at him. Justin walked with Alyssa listening to her talk about why she liked when it snowed. When they arrived at the frozen lake that was being used as the ice skating rink, they rented ice skates and went on the ice. Jeff held Alyssa’s hand while Anne held her other hand as they skated. Nick was holding on to Jessica making sure she wouldn’t fall on the ice. Drew and Lea were holding hands skating around the rink. Justin sat on the bench observing his friends and their loved ones having the time of their life, while he was here all alone wishing he had someone to skate with. He got up and skated around the lake to see if that would put him in a better mood. After going around the lake once he saw a lady fall on the ice. He went over to her to make sure she was ok.

“Are you ok?� he asked helping her up.

“Yea...I meant to do that,� she laughed as she fixed her hat, which had been covering her face.

“Leslie?� Justin asked recognizing her.

“Hey Justin,� she said looking up at him. “Thanks for helping me up,� she smiled.

“My pleasure,� he smiled back. “Would you like to go around together?�

“Um...I probably won’t make it that far. I’ll be on the floor most of the time,� she said as they both laughed.

“I’ll hold on to you…..I won’t let you fall,� he whispered as he put one arm around her waist and held her hand with the other one.

“Ok,� she said clearing her throat. They began skating and he held onto her making sure she wouldn’t fall and make them both fall. They did fine for a while until Justin somehow lost his balance and fell on top of her.

“I’m so sorry, are you ok?� he asked looking down at her.

“Ow,� she responded.

“Are you hurt?�

“No...you’re just light as a feather...Dude, you’re heavy get off of me!� she said laughing and pushing him off of her. “I thought I was the one who was going to fall, maybe I should be the one guiding you around the ice.�

Justin slightly laughed and looked down at the ice. He couldn’t understand why he had butterflies in his stomach. He felt like a school kid again.

“Are you ok?� she asked, placing her hand on top of his. A tingling feeling ran through his whole body when he felt her touch. He took her hand in his, looked into her eyes and slowly bent his head down to kiss her.

“So, this must be the famous Leslie?� Justin heard a voice say behind him. He turned around to see Drew, Nick and Jeff skating towards them.

“I think we should stand up now,� Leslie said as he turned his attention back to her.

“Yea…we should,� he got up and helped her to her feet.

“We’ve heard so much about you,� Jeff said once they were on their feet.

“Really!� she laughed as she looked over at Justin who was scratching his head and looking at the ice.

“Guys...leave J alone,� Lea said skating over to them as the rest of the girls followed behind her.

“What! We want to get to know Leslie and make sure she doesn’t hurt him,� Nick replied.

“Justin’s a grown man, he can take care of himself, plus that’s our job,� Jessica said hitting Nick in the arm and skating over to Leslie.

“Fine! You girls bond together, while we talk to Justin and figure out what they were doing laying on the ice,� Drew said as the guys took Justin away from Leslie leaving her with Lea, Jessica, Anne and Alyssa.

Justin saw that the girls were talking to Leslie on one side of the lake. He was now on the other side of the frozen lake.

“So…thatâ€⠄¢s Leslie, huh?" Nick asked looking in the direction that the girls were in.

“Yeah,� he smiled.

"What were you two doing on the floor?" Nick asked.

"We fell!" Justin said getting annoyed.

"I thought you said she wasn't your girlfriend," Jeff wondered.

"She's not!" Justin yelled trying to skate past Nick.

"From my angle it looked like you were about to kiss her," Nick said blocking Justin’s path.

"Yup, that's the same thing that I saw," Jeff pointed out.

"Me too," Drew agreed.

"I don't have to stand here and explain myself to the three of you," he said pushing past Nick and bumping into Leslie.

"I'm so sorry I didn't see you there," he apologized, catching her before she lost her balance.

"Ouch...it's ok." she said rubbing her arm. “I just came to say bye.�

"You're leaving so soon?" Jeff asked.

“We haven't gotten to know you yet," Nick pointed out.

“Yeah...well. I'm leaving...so bye," she said turning around and skating away.

"What did you say to her?" Justin asked Lea as they skated towards them.

"We didn't say anything. I think she saw someone she didn't want to see." Lea replied as the girls agreed.

"What?" they asked confused.

"I think that guy...," Lea said turning around and pointing to a guy who was skating really close to a lady. "….is her ex."

"Damn!" Justin said as he skated in the direction that Leslie had left. He traded in his skates and went looking for her. He found her sitting on a nearby bench crying.

"Are you ok?" he asked, sitting down next to her. He picked up her chin and wiped away her tears.

"Yea...I'm fine," she said turning away.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Justin asked concerned, wishing that he was comforting her in his arms.

"No," she said getting off of the bench and walking away. Justin got up and followed her. He walked in front of her and held her in his arms.

“Let it out baby. You can’t keep it in,� he said as she began to cry. He held her close until she stopped crying. “Do you feel a little better?�

“Just a little,� she said sniffling and wiping her nose on her sleeve.

“Do you want to walk and talk or go somewhere warm?� he asked, wiping away a tear that was running down her cheek.

“I just want to go home,� she said sniffling some more.

“I’ll walk you home, ok?� he said caressing her cheek.

“I guess that’s ok since we live in the same building,� she laughed slightly.

“Yea,� he said wrapping an arm around her shoulder as they walked home.

<span style="color:blue">Four days had p[arse]ed since Justin had walked Leslie to her apartment. He hadn’t seen her since. Today was Christmas Eve and he was about to get himself something to eat at the local diner. He walked in and followed the waitress to a table. He was so interested in looking for something to eat on the menu that he didn’t notice when Leslie sat across from him. He looked up when he felt something hit him.

“Hi! Sorry I threw that at you,� she said pointing at the rolled up straw paper that was now lying on the table.

“Hi...It’s ok,� he said picking it up and throwing it back at her as she blocked it with her hand.

“You missed!� she stuck her tongue out at him as they both laughed.

“How are you feeling?� he asked, seeing that she seemed much happier now.

“Better...Thanks for walking me home that day. Sorry, I didn’t talk to you the whole way there though,� she apologized.

“You’re welcome...It’s ok. I know you had things on your mind. I’m just happy you feel better,� he smiled at her as the waitress came to their table.

“Can I get the two of you something to drink?�

“Do you want anything to drink?� he asked Leslie, hoping that she would stay and eat with him.

“Sure...I’ll take a coke,� she said.

“I’ll have the same,� he smiled at the waitress as she left to get their drinks. “So, have you gotten everything you wanted for Christmas?�

“Well, I got to see you again,� she smiled. He smiled back at her as they looked into each others eyes until the waitress came back with their drinks. They drank their soda in silence until he spoke up.

“Do you want something to eat?�

“I’ll just get fries or something,� she said playing with her straw paper making a little accordion with it. The waitress came by a few seconds later. He ordered a burger with fries on the side and an extra order of cheese fries for Leslie.

“Tell your friends I said sorry for leaving so soon that day,� she said.

“I will. Do you want to talk about it?� he asked concerned.

“Um...my ex...He was there with his current girlfriend. Even though I’m over him, it just still hurts,� she said looking down at her lap.

“I know how that goes,� Justin said.

“Anyway, have you gotten everything you wanted for Christmas?� she asked changing the subject.

“Yea...You’re here with me,� he smiled, taking her hand in his. He let go once the waitress came back with their food. “Enjoy your cheese fries.�

“Que te aproveche,� she said before grabbing a cheese fry and putting it into her mouth. He just watched her trying to figure out what she had just said to him.

“What’d you say?� he asked.

“It’s Spanish for ‘Enjoy!’†� she giggled.

“Oh. Thanks!,� he laughed and began eating his burger.

It's funny how this is the last story I wrote and the first one I finished. I just felt like pointing that out. lol
