Lachey didn't like Simpson vomiting on camera
Nick Lachey would really rather you didn't see his wife upchucking.
Lachey tells "Access Hollywood" the one time he wishes
the "Newlyweds" cameras were not following him and Jessica Simpson
was when she launched her fragrance line and was sick. He says
Simpson kept throwing up and the cameras were right there. He says
they let them tape it because that's life, but he says, "After about
the eighth different angle on the vomit, don't you think we have
enough of the vomit shot?" He says he just wanted to "let her throw
up in peace." And if he can love that, you know their marriage is
solid. Lachey denies reports that they're in trouble because
Simpson's career is taking off more than his. [arse]ociated Press

Career Differences Causing 'Newlywed' Tension?
They've been playful lovers on their MTV hit show, but as Jessica's
career skyrockets, insiders say Nick has become the man in her
shadow. Last week on "Newlyweds," Nick was miffed at Jessica's
bigger role on a VH-1 skit, and his role in their public service
announcement all but disappeared. In Us magazine's new cover story,
Staff Editor B.J. Sigesmund says the "Newlyweds" are headed for
choppy waters. When the couple arrived at the Golden Globes,
photographers asked Nick to move aside so they could photograph
Jessica. Also, at last week's pre-Grammy bash, Jessica received all
of the attention, the magazine reported. One thing is for sure:
Jessica's career is on a roll. Her new CD has outsold Nick's. After
she landed her own sitcom deal, Nick got one too. Now, with season
two of "Newlyweds" wrapped up, the couple plans to share some
private time on a Mexican getaway. ExtraTV

Get ready to start calling her Jessica Sampson. That's going to be
the name of Jessica Simpson's character on her ABC sitcom-in-the-
works, which has just been picked up as a pilot. In the show,
Simpson will play a pop-culture phenomenon much like herself who
signs on to a prime-time news-magazine program to work as a part-
time on-air reporter, much to the dismay of the hardworking female
producer. Like "Newlyweds," the sitcom will be executive-produced by
her father. A rep for ABC said that the rest of the show remains to
be cast, but the pilot should be shot within the next three months
and they'll know by mid-May if it's picked up as a series. MTV.com
