Hey ya'll, this is a short, fluffy Nick/Jess Christmas story I wrote two years ago. Since everoyne else is talking about Christmas stories, i thought I would go ahead and post mine. Enjoy :)

“This Gift”

Nick Lachey sighed, trying to keep his eyes on the road as her drove to his girlfriends of 3 years, Jessica Simpson’s house. It was Christmas Day, the special day of the year. He always liked to spend Christmas with Jessica and her family, but this Christmas was extremely special.

Nick had a special gift he wanted to give Jessica. No one knew what it was except Nick.
“I know Jess is gonna love this” He thought as he pulled into the driveway.

The first person he encountered in the house was Jessica’s mom, Tina. “Nick, how nice to see you”
They hugged. “Nice to see you too”

He entered the kitchen, to find Jessica’s dad, Joe. “Hello, Nick.”
Nick shook hands with the older man. “Hello. Where’s my girl?”
Joe smiled. “In her room, trying to look all pretty for you”
Nick sighed. “Jess don’t need to do that, she already looks totally beautiful.”
Joe nodded. “I know. I told her that but she insists on looking extra special.”
Nick shook his head. Typical Jessica.

5 minutes later, Jessica was walking down the stairs. Nick smiled as he looked at her. She was dressed in a white turtleneck sweater and blue jeans that seemed to fit her so perfectly. Her blonde hair was curled slightly and cascaded down her back like a blonde waterfall. Her makeup wasn’t too much, but just enough to make her a little more beautiful.

She jumped into Nick’s arms, a look of excitement on her face. “Oh Nick, I’m so glad you’re here.”
Nick smiled. “I’m glad to be here with you, the most beautiful girl in the world.”
Jessica blushed. “Aww… thanks.”
There was a moment of silence as the two just stared at each other, being so happy at the moment.
“So Nick, what’d you get me for Christmas?”
Nick smiled really mysteriously. “You’ll see, Jess.”
Jessica put on a pouty face. “I don’t get even a clue?”
“Oh don’t worry Jess, you wouldn’t be disappointed when you see what it is.”
“Yay!” Jessica said excitedly.
Nick smiled again. He loved Jessica so much. He definitely knew she wouldn’t be disappointed when he gave it to her.

30 minutes later, Jessica’s family and friends started to come in. She and Nick gossiped and caught up with as much of them as they could.

Soon they heard Tina and Jessica’s aunt Bryanna call everyone. Nick hadn’t realized how hungry he was until they’d mentioned that dinner was ready. “Let’s go see what a scrumptious dinner they’ve cooked up for everyone”
Jessica laughed, and slapped him slightly. “You’re too much, Nick”

Dinner was an extreme feast. There was a ton of food on the table. Turkey, ham, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, salad, bread, and so many other goodies.
As they were eating dinner, Jessica seemed to be anticipating something.
“What’s with the look on the face, Jess, you look like you’re looking forward to something.”
Jessica looked at Nick. “Just looking forward to present opening, and seeing what I get form everyone.” She returned to her food.
Nick knew there was more the story, but he didn’t say anything about it. He just kept on eating.

Soon after everyone had stuffed themselves from dinner, it was time to open presents.
Nick decided to give his gift to Jessica last, since it was really special.
But not before he received gifts himself.
He got a nice new watch form Joe and Tina, a new black sweater from Ashlee, Jessica’s little sister, and a gold chain bracelet from Jessica. “This will go perfect with my gift for Jessica” He thought.

After everyone had opened their presents, Joe turned to Nick. “Don’t you have some thing to give Jessica?”
Nick nodded. It was time. He signaled Ashlee to turn on the stereo. 98 degrees’s own song “This Gift” came on.
Nick took a small box out of his pocket, and handed it to Jessica. She slowly opened it, and a beautiful diamond ring showed.
“Wow” Jessica said. “It’s a pretty ring”
“And not just any ring” Nick said “Jessica, I’ve wanted to say something to you for awhile, and I figured Christmastime would be the perfect time to do it. I’ve loved you more than any girl in my life. And, I’d like to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?”
Jessica’s eyes widened with extreme surprise. She put her hands over her face, and tears were coming. “Yes, Nick, I will.”
There were claps and cheers in the room as Nick gave put the ring on Jessica’s finger, and the couple kissed.

As the couple were getting ready to leave later, Nick asked her “So Jessica, what did you think of my gift?”
“It was the most perfect gift ever, Nick. Just perfect”
