they talked to them about Ashlee's mishap on SNL and possibly more stuff. Looks like they were attending a Halloween Cystic Fibrosis event.

Here's the story from the access hollywood website (for those like me who don't get the show - or who missed it)

Jessica Simpson is coming to her lil' sister's defense, talking to Access Hollywood for the first time about Ashlee's "Saturday Night Live" snafu last week.

"Ashlee is an amazingly talented person and the fact that people are calling her 'Milli Vanilli' is absolutely obscene and ridiculous," Jessica said. "She's already sold three million records which is more than I sold in two years. She's proved herself."

And what Jessica proved over the weekend was that she makes one heck of a Chrissy Snow (the blonde bombshell played by Suzanne Somers on "Three's Company") and hubby Nick wasn't too shabby as Jack Tripper as the couple brought along a few friends for a "Three's Company" theme at a Halloween party at the Skybar at the Mondrian to benefit cystic fibrosis.

Even Nick stepped up to the plate to defend his sister-in-law against the accusations that she was caught lip-synching on the "SNL" stage.

"People are going to jump on the bandwagon and criticize her because it's the cool thing to do now. But you know, you just gotta keep your head up it will p[arse]. Somebody else will do something next week, you know what I mean," Nick explained.

And inevitably, they will. But until then, it appears Ashlee isn't taking it too hard on herself. The day after the gaffe, she even poked fun at herself as she took the stage at the Radio Music Awards, where just a few notes into her performance, she turned around and yelled "Wrong song!" before turning to the audience moments later to say "just kidding."[/b]
