Watched ET, and they said that Bernie Mac was supposed to play Santa, but he couldn't due to illness :(
That would have been too funny, they said they got another suprise guest to fill in.

Does any one know when the NICK AND JESSICA FAMILY CHRISTMAS VARIETY SHOW is airing. I have heard DECEMBER 1ST AND DECEMBER 10TH. I just want to know which one is the correct one.
Cant wait to see NICK and his 98 DEGREES buddies again.

I don't think that ABC has officially set the air date as of right now. I think they've just thrown some possibilities out there - I know I haven't seen anything about it on the ABC site as of yet - and they will promote the stupid thing like no tomorrow to get the ratings.

I just got the new issue of IN TOUCH MAGAZINE. I dont know how much of it is true but it said that when JOE SIMPSON wanted ASHLEY to be on the special then NICK added I want DREW on it to. It also said the Ashley had 2 dressing rooms
but that JEFF AND JUSTIN had to share one & that they were only called 3 days before the taping and were only paid $600 each.(That sounds kind of low isnt it?)
I think Jessica better tell her dad to back off a little or she is going to the lose the best thing she has in her life NICK!!!!!
I am going to tape & watch it-I hope its at least tolerable

As much as I hate Ashlee and think she's the fakest thing ever...she probably had the "special treatment" b/c she's so big in the entertainment world right now (she shouldn't be...she has 0 talent) but she is and that's why, if 98* had come and done this a few yrs ago they would've gotten a heaftier amount, also Joe co-produces everything Jess does so therefore Ashlee gets the better stuff...fair?? Absolutely not but sadly that's how show biz is sometimes.
I still can't wait to see 98 Degrees on it, and their families it'll be great. How many of you think more of Jess family will be there or taped more than the Lachey family??? **raises hand and rolls eyes* I do sadly...I love Nick's family. They're smart and like to stay OUT Of their son's every move and hollywood!

If he was only contacted 3 days before they filmed it - I'm SHOCKED that Timmons agreed to do it - but honestly, the rest of it doesn't surprise me in the least...and like Jess said - because daddy *****bucks is a producer on everything that the ditzy one does - he ensures that talent he represents gets major preferential treatment.
I honestly wish Nick hadn't signed to do more variety shows after the first one...it was obvious that Jess got all the air time - he needs to get his manager more involved in the production end of things he does with his wife - to make sure that they get closer to equal time to showcase their individual careers in joint ventures - and he needs to make sure his manager isn't gonna let the Pimp Daddy push him around (which I think was a major problem with Larry Rudolph - either because he didn't think he knew enough to be a 'good' producer or because he was too busy with Brit at the time)
I agree.....but how else is he going to get exposure.
I think that it's an outrage that whenever N/J do anything together, she get's top billing. What's even worse, is that this new special will probably garner increased record sales for both Jessica and Ashlee.What about Nick.....NADA. Joe "Jackson" Simpson doesn't give a damn about Nick and his career.

I should say - I'm glad that Nick stood up for himself and demanded SOMETHING - instead of letting Joe run roughshod over him.

No you're probably right he doesnt...then again he never said he did. And he's not Nick's manager...it really is Nick's manager's job to help Nick with that not Mr. Daddy in law who doesn't like Nick and didn't from day 1. Joe is being smart here by what he's doing (I dont like him BUT he has been smart. Ashlee has NO singing talent and they said back when Jessica's Sweet Kisses came out that Ashlee was going to have an album to but it never came out and suddenly Jess gets TONS of fame b/c of Newlyweds and WOW Ashlee has an album...I don't like him BUT he's not stupid and he's not being stupid in what he did with the Variety show and everything else he did when it came around Jess and Nick.)Now hopefully without Larry helping Brit he'll be helping Nick more.

Nick's not with Larry anymore - I can't remember who his manager is now - but I think I had heard it was X-tina's manager or something like that.
But the point is - it's supposed to be a joint venture - same as Newlyweds was supposed to be - therefore they should BOTH be getting equal exposure...and Joe is the type who's gonna run roughshod over anyone who gets in the way of him pimping out his daughter.
Larry Rudolph isn't his manager anymore, and you are absolutely right about how he has managed his daughter's careers thus far. But, I just feel there is an underlying sliminess to him (JMO).

Oh yeah 100% I do too...I don't know how he was ever a Minister....he's slimy...very but then so is a lot of Hollywood...Unfortunately, hollywood doesn't see the things we see the way we see them otherwise Nick would be doing a lot now. (Hopefully when his show comes out it'll be a big boost for him) I HOPE it will he deserves it BIG TIME!

I saw the variety show! I thought it was funny and cute! lol lights on lights off! I also thought all the performances were awesome and so were the skits and Nick playing donald trump.
