Time for a Red Carpet Suicide!
Jessica Simpson (http://perezhilton.com/2008-09-26-jessica-simpson-sucks-but-we-knew-that-already#) better hurry up and get pregnant or drive drunk or flash her vajayjay or at least go get lunch at The Ivy, because according to a scalding review (http://www.canada.com/windsorstar/story.html?id=9de65eb4-081b-49b0-8f14-2b414057751d) of her concert in Canada on Thursday night, her "music career" is about as bright as Audrina Patridge.
Performing songs off her HOrrific new country album, Do You Know, to an audience who mostly earned their tickets through more than a few rounds of Black Jack, she paced the stage at the Colosseum at Caesars Windsor, delivering little stage presence and tedious commentary.
With her songs mostly unremarkable, she sang in "a voice that only occasionally found the right note" and even offered a cheesy plug when she advised women to run from an abusive relationship "in a pair of Jessica Simpson boots."
UGH.
She's got a long way to go before she's any country star because even in her home state of Texas she's known as "Yoko Romo."

I don't think Canada likes her. They did this a couple weeks ago with nasty reviews.
Simpson told the women in the audience to run the other way if they're in an abusive relationship, "preferably in a pair of Jessica Simpson boots."
The topic of domestic abuse is a problem that shouldn't be used as a platform for plugging your shoe line. This only makes Jessica look disgenuous about empowering women.

you are correct - however, IMOAL, JSimp was NEVER about 'empowering women' - she said/did what her puppeteers (aka daddy & other handlers) told her to in hopes of making her appear to want to empower women - but she's proved with the constant "dumb blonde" act (which she claims it is) that she just wants attention and if looking stupid is the way to get it - she'll do it that way instead of acting like an intelligent woman who doesn't need attention to make her happy.

First off, her album is not horrific. It is a good album. Her stage presence is horrific. She just cannot seem to be on a stage without saying or doing something inappropriate. She's been in the business for 10 years, you're supposed to get better, not worse with performing. There is such an immaturity about her.
The shoe line promo was very inappropriate!

Even though her album is good, her music career is going nowhere....I think she's done as far as music is concerned.....she hasn't even sold 100,000 copies.......that's horrible.
I agree her stage presence is horrible....

Even though I like JS's new album I have to say that was funny!!
I feel like Jessica is going all the wrong way about introducing herself into the country world. 1. She talks too much during her concerts. She doesn't realise that that probably annoys the heck out of the diehard fans. She thinks people care more about her than they actually do.
2. She keeps forgetting lyrics of her own songs! What credible artist does that nearly every show?
3. She keeps talking about her "Sunday" Tony Romo. I don't think many people actually care!! Get on with the music!
4. She talks about flatulence. "My man has to accept that I toot under the duvet." I mean - WHAT? Who the heck goes on about that kind of stuff? We don't want to know!
5. She makes herself sound pompous "I have to share the voice that God has given me with the world."
I feel like she's not taking it seriously enough. I also feel like she is very immature for her age. Her music is good but she's not making the most of herself. She's not making it easy for people to like her really.

Jessica could actually make it in the business if she " polished up " in a few areas. You can still be yourself but be refined.

before she made the album she was not on stage for a long time. Maybe she has to get used to it again and then she will get better with performing on stage. Probably alot of stress related things are going on with her.

^^ This is what she does. She's a performer! just because she was off stage for while doesn't matter. For people who have a "god given" gift, it should be like riding a bike! Personal stresses should not affect your job. We all have personal stresses but if I were to let them affect my job, I would not have that job for long. Suck it up and do it.

That's horrible.....there's people that are selling 1 million albums or close to it their first week out.....she's only sold 89,000.....she hasn't crossed over the 100,000 mark yet......500,000 is considered gold......she's got a long way to go.

I am choking with you, lol....her last album sold like 250,000...i think thats right, correct me if i am wrong, I have said a million times I am a huge country fan, and coming from other fans we do not accept her, I think the #'s speak for there self!

I think her music career is over....she'll be releasing albums in the future just for the hell of it....I wonder what will happen between her and her record label.
I think her biggest selling album was either Sweetkisses or In This Skin...I know ITS sold over 3 million......I believe Sweekisses sold 2 or 3 million.

I heard about this as well. I hope she works on her vocals and if she's singing remember that, she needs to calm down on the emotion and focus on vocals. tens of millions of people watch this show and if I'm not mistaken it's live. Not a show that you want to mess up on!

I don't know. In a way I feel bad for her. She needs to get away from good ole' daddy simpson. Who's already ruined her life.
All of the comments that she makes & the way that shes acting is showing alot of insecurities. That have probably always been there, but are just now really coming to light..
I haven't listened to the whole cd, but i did like a few of the songs...And although i wont be paying to see her anytime soon. I wish her well....

You know thats what I cant figure out why is she singing Angels instead of her new songs?
