Last night, I'm scanning my groceries, right? All is going fine. The next thing I know, we're in the dark!! LMAO!! Two towers fell 14 or so blocks away from me!! It left Oak Creek (where I work and live), Cudahy, South Milwaukee and parts of Milwaukee and maybe Franklin without power. So we had the baggers go tell everyone to get to the front of the store and check out because our generator was only going to work for the registers for 15 more minutes. So we had workers at the doors making sure no one was running out. Little kids were crying. It was sad. No customers were allowed into the store afterwards. Then we had orders to go put groceries onto the shelves again. We couldn't open the frozen or dairy doors because they wanted the things to remain cold. But wait, it gets better. We have a hot deli, right? Well they had to get rid of the food, so we got to eat it on the clock, for free!! Lol. I don't think that Dale, the store manager, realized that there were like 10 teenagers in the store at the time. Lol. If you want more information on this incident, feel free to go here: http://www.jsonline.com/news/metro/oct04/265487.asp That's from General Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee. We only lost power for 30 minutes. It got rather cold, fast. Lol
