Now that Nick Lachey has hit it big in the music world, starred in a TV show and wooed and wed sultry singer Jessica Simpson, he says his next dream may be in the world of politics.

The 31-year-old pop star might run for mayor of Cincinnati because he's troubled by its racial and economic unrest, he tells GQ magazine.

"I see my hometown going through a bunch of stuff, and it makes you want to make a difference, you know?" he says.

But does a guy who made his name in a disbanded band, 98 degrees, and as co-star of a TV reality show, "Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica," really have a chance at Cincinnati City Hall?

Why, sure! Trash TV talk-show host Jerry Springer did it in 1977 - at the age of 33.

Don't you think you should know a little about his political views before you say you'd vote for him? Just because he's a singer does not make him a good candidate for mayor or any other political office.
